Hi all, I’ve never commented before despite having quietly followed this case for a while. I rewatched the ‘Missing or Murdered’ doc tonight and rechecked MajorLang’s (very well done and informative) blog. I think I’m of the same mindset as most, that one of the 4 are responsible/implicit. The one thing that sprung to mind was with regard to CLs text to JK where she mentions being up early for 12 mornings in a row - we know/ assume the uni wouldn’t have had CL in over weekends but the NH chef went on holiday so could there have been an arrangement for CL to sort prep for breakfasts extra early while he was away? May explain why no evidence of foul play at home/earlier bedtime/straighteners missing?

Hello @Giveusaclue
The Nag's Head had a landlord and a manager who were fully involved in the investigation due to the intense scrutiny of the pub in the first few months. I would think any such arrangement would have been shared with the police and would probably have leaked out due to the numerous interviews with the press, particularly as JK worked in the pub and she and GF were very friendly with CL as we know. Unless it was a very covert arrangement but I would have thought this might have slipped out in her phone conversations. Just IMO.
Good logic though (and CL was secretive!) and I have noticed the side door into the pub via the narrow gap between the end property of CL's terrace and the pub - so another hidden route into the NH, accessible via the rear, which has been discussed at length today.

NH people would have mentioned this to police

Don't know what the nags head menu was but I should imagine that like most pubs it was probably straightforward stuff, especially breakfast, full English etc, think landlord could manage to sort that out

someone mentioned that he believed that pub would/ should have a large well ?
Is this correct ?

I expect it is a leap too far, just given the way there has always been a cloak of suspicion over the NH and their openness (or not) with the details I was surmising and thinking out loud.

Cannot recall if this has been suggested or addressed already, but if CL is known to be private/secretive about her love life, is it known whether or not she was strictly into men?
In other words, could the person responsible for her disappearance be a woman, or the significant other connected to that female?
imo, speculation.

Apparrently they didnt like the area.
Seems to be the case. Bit unprofessional for an estate agent to leave that file note on the internet for all to see. And coincidental that it was CLs property.

That's a new one on me but an intriguing thought.

I’ve never seen it suggested and it doesn’t really follow what is known about her interests in that department- but you never know, seems all options are on the table when no real answers.

I know dogs were employed after CL disappeared but does anyone know if cadaver dogs were used in CL house, and the alleyway? And if so how long after 19th? Thanks
They were definitely used on the pub and in various suspects houses. Think Malyn brought them in for the alley searches. The emphasis in the early stages was on her disappearing on her walk to work and those initial 'sightings' supported that theory . It was only when the salacious gossip emerged that police had a rethink and searched the pub. It would be very hard to imagine cadaver dogs weren't deployed in her house.

I think it was the daily mail that tried to dig her out saying that she had numerous affairs with married men, I think if they had found any evidence of her being bisexual they would have gone into meltdown and definitely printed all the details and doubtless make a few up as well

I can see why people have questioned this as in the Missing or Murdered programme SC says Id never had a friend like Claudia before she's the friend I always wanted and shes the sort of friend I eventually found. They also referred to each other as spinter sisters later dropping the spinster part...
JK also lived with Claudia for a while...

Ha ha, true enough re dm.!
Thinking about the brown hair dye, did Claudia often switch from blond to brown hair, or was this a sudden change, a need to" disguise"? imo.
Re-post of link with excellent pics, map and detail.

Claudia purchased the house in Heworth Road in 2007

What happened to Claudia? - BBC News
"Claudia and Suzy were so close they called each other “sister”

“I opened the door and every paper and news channel you could imagine were there. Microphones and cameras were shoved in my face, people asking me this and that. It was horrendous."

Images of a bag and phone similar to Claudia’s missing items were released

"The focus on Claudia’s love life was both a natural and legitimate line of inquiry. Mr Galloway would have been failing as senior investigating officer had he not pursued it."

I know this sounds weird but would her house have been ripped to bits (looking behind any bath panel, floorboards, loft etc) and luminol used ? I'm just asking as there have been cases where people have been killed at a property and concealed in such places etc.
I still think the killer is very local and more than 1 person knows who it is. I'm not sure if I'd give the Christopher Halliwell link much credence but there's always the very slightest possibility she fell into his clutches somewhere, however unfortunate (the walk to work perhaps ?).
I do feel the investigation into this case was an absolute train wreck and I feel very sorry for Claudia's parents / loved ones.

I cant agree with you on the Christopher Haliwell link Claudias mum says in the Missing or Murdered programme that Claudia had said that she recognised him from photo on tv and newspaper reports that he had tried to lure her and that she would never forget his eyes. Another witness reported seeing claudia speaking to a man fitting Halliwells discription.
He was also left handed and a smoker .. and skinny build.
Haliwell was linked to the disappearance of Linda Razell who also disappeared on her way to work although her husband was jailed for her disappearance he has always denied he was responsible.
Haliwell was said to have worked on an extension on the razells home. Inside justice investigater Louise Shorter tracked down the building firm but they said that they did not do small site work. Given the amount of building work (foundations for a science block at the Uni) in the area at the time.
His involvement in all this is very credible
I undestand he was discounted by police because he was in a mental facility at the time. I would like to see the evidence of this( was he booked in but didnt attend)
Its also interested to note that haliwell was committed of murdering 2 women he had a stash of 60 clothing items only 2 of the items in the stash were identified a boot from one victim and a cardigan from the other.. That potentially puts a lot more victims out there
