Yes I can. NYP can bow out of direct involvement while pointing C5 towards suitable interviewees, thereby having their cake and eating it! As I have suggested, the more opportunity some people have to speak, the more they reveal.

Regarding CL's longer standing friends, I suspect they are cut from a different cloth and will have provided evidence more privately and directly to NYP. Not everyone wants to be a movie star.
Perhaps nyp did not want to contribute because now, finally ,they are on the right track ! IMO

@ keep-it-real
Given that no external review of the case has been carried out on such a high profile case seems strange to me.

Do you think her profile (middle class, white female) has any bearing on this? Or the fact that such a large amount of resources have already been spent?

Personally I dont think her profile had an bearing on this.
If you consider £11.75 million was spent on the Madeleine McCann investigation by UK authorities the costs for Claudia didnt come anywhere near that.

Yes indeed the McCann case is extraordinary isn't it - for many reasons.

I would imagine NYP would avoid a programme where they had no control of the narrative, given that it cast a very wide net of possibilities and especially as they (NYP) have already laid out their view that the answer lies 'close to home'.

Regarding the two mentioned, is your question rhetorical? Either they are deliberately inserting themselves into tv investigations or NYP have offered advice to producers on where to look for 'answers'. Reminds me of other high profile cases where this has happened. Does anyone watch Faking It - Tears of a Crime? The more you watch, the more you notice.
@Yozzer HUNTLEY comes to mind immediately

You can’t have it both ways here and I know two people are being quoted here :
Nyp did not want to get involved .( one statement)
Then, maybe, nyp told the program producers who to interview !? ( second statement )

How can you claim to be a good friend of Claudia and then refuse to contribute if invited to ?
Good to see you back here @ Yozzer
Do you still judge them as good friends though @Popejohn3 when they walked past her house the night she didn't turn up and she hadn't text for over 24 hours or did they know something and was the plan to leave it longer for it to be discovered?

Why did she need his car when she had a car? I'm aware her car was in the garage for repair on the week she disappeared and her mum has said on numerous occasions she offered her a lift or pay a taxi for her to get to work that week but it was not accepted.... I also wonder what the conversation was with the colleague who drove her home on the 17th? Did she walk to work on the 17th or did she get a lift? I think she probably had lifts organised to take her into work that week...if not then why not use her bicycle instead of walking? Find out who the person is that was arranged to drive her to work and we find us the murderer!
But was the person who gave her a lift on 17th necessarily the person who killed her over 24 hours later ?

Yes-The Mccanns-"They've Taken Her" being the biggest giveaway in the whole case.

Innocent before found guilty.
Easy to talk with hindsight .Yes they are heart broken.
Cl was a young free spirited healthy woman who did not need anyone to check on her .
She’s done it before I believe.
What time did the pub close !?
Would you bang at her door in the middle of the night ? And when you get no answer are you going to smash her door down or assume she’s gone out ??!

After all (hindsight?) they could have said they did nock on her door but there was no answer!
They do not know what happened to her just like most of us !imo

My Sin is same age as Claudia was. He contacts us daily. He is a streetwise guy but if we don't hear from him within a twenty four hour period we would be contacting everyone he knows who could get in touch with him to check his well being. This is why I am very suspicious of the lack of responsiveness.

After looking at options Claudia had in travelling to work I decided to consider the possiblilty that she did not make that journey on the morning of the 19th an instead concentrate on the evening of the 18th when we know for sure that up to approx 8.25pm she was alive because she spoke with both her parents on her mobile phone.
After that nothing, she didnt even reply to Steves text at 9.12pm which he says was unusual and not like her.
This morning I was reviewing my timeline notes for the evening of the 18th ..I pulled the bus cam video again this time not focusing on Claudias house.
As the bus swung into Heworth road and begins to straighten up the parked white van came into view I caught sight of a passenger in the white van Is it Claudia? there is also a driver but I cant quite get a clearer view of him because of the angle.

Was the reason because they knew Robbie Campbell was in the UK and there was a possiblity they were meeting up?

In normal everyday life people make arrrangements they dont keep it doesnt mean theyve been abducted or murdered this is especially the case of someone leading a perfect ordinary normal run of the mill life. Reasons can range from forgetting the arrangement, illness, something coming up unexpectedly, a disagreement, or just couldnt be bothered.
As you rightly point out PJ Claudia was an adult women not a child so missing this social meet wouldnt necessarily be a cause for concern and a text message to that person would usually surfice while they carried on with their evening with other people in the pub.
JK was working behind the bar so I dont think she would dwell on this and the evening would have passed relatively quickly. But SC has a completely different personality she has shown before her moods change in certain situations on the day of the gold cup at the NH she said she didnt have time with CL because when she arrived at the pub Claudia had had too much to drink and SC stood at the away from her. SC can be very easily offended.
We know that when she didnt turn up for their usual meet on the evening of the 19th she sent her a text saying 'Thanks for standing me up!' she tried later to pass this off as a joke but I think otherwise. I think it was possibly a sarcastic retort she was annoyed and offended and let Claudia know about it.

Could be
But we can’t ask people ( like the police did) to come forward if they’ve seen anything suspicious. Two members of the public come forward and inform the police , like good citizens that they saw a couple ... in both cases the woman looking like Claudia at the right place and right time and what —- we dismiss the sightings ?
And the fact no one has come forward to say it was them .
I believe in both instances it was Claudia and the person responsible .

Thats why this photo is important if it is Claudia its actually proof of where she was when she was there and who she was with and doesnt rely on a witness siting without the actual visual evidence to support it.

Agreed .Anyone would be annoyed if they were kept waiting and Suzy let her know in a gentle way how she felt .
No, the mystery boyfriend is to blame IMO
