I wonder why they have never disclosed details of DNA they found.
With DNA offering valueable data on the ethnic mix of a person and in some cases even eye colour surely this information would be provide at least some clues to who may have been the smoker in Claudias car
We know that several 'local' males have fessed up to having a relationship with her, (some at a very early stage in the 2009 investigation, some after having pressure exerted), thereby 'explaining' any DNA found in her home.
We do know the smoker's DNA found in the car was male as below.
DNA profile

In fact one of her female friends smoked and WAS an embassy regal smoker. Let's hope she stubbed them out "before they hit the ground"
That's interesting as, although the DNA was male, we know smokers offer cigarettes around (especially to those who have run out of supplies) so perhaps the male received one from this female partner or friend?

Your knowledge seems to be unlimited. Pope's knowledge even so. I'm wondering all the time! :)

These revelations( dna pls fingerprints ) are for the benefits of SHY witnesses ie don’t worry give us a name and let us see if he / she was ever in her car or home .

People need to be specific the body of the bag could be hanging on left hip but the strap around the head but over the right shoulder
Makes sense. :) One should think, a man with this recognizable large bag*, hanging over his shoulder across the body, him walking there on HR in the very early morning, wouldn't have been a unique occurrence. Surveillance videos from before and after were able to show, if this man walked there every morning at the same time (from work/to work). If not, the person would be of interest. Otherwise not so much, IMO.
* not by me recognizable ;)

And clearly this person you’re talking about did not leave that particular stub !
If that particular stub is important the position of passenger seat (short /tall ) is also important plus mileage as compared to breakdown records / service and other debri from the snowfalls in February when her car broke down .
Did her car breakdown when the smoker was with her ? Did he leave a full palm prints if she asked him to push the car even a few feet to a safe place !?
Who towed her car a friend ? AA RAC ?
What time ? From where to where ? Was she alone ? Did she travel in the car ?
Where was Colombo in the first week of her disappearance !!!?

I doubt they would have fingerprinted every one who had ever visited CL's house. Think of all the visitors CL would have had round: friends (long and short term), family members, tradesmen, work colleagues - the majority will be innocent folk who have never been in trouble with the law so there will be no record. Only a few have been directly involved with the case. We will probably never know if the prints discovered in 2014 were relevant. Their revelation will certainly have put extra pressure on the guilty party which was NYP's intention in releasing this news. But not every clue will tie up and link neatly with the perp. Some will turn out to be 'red herrings'.
Re the smoker. I think it's a fair chance that one or more of the persons of interest will be a smoker and again, police are fishing and exerting pressure.

The police would be talking to possible witnesses the guilty ones would probably know exactly where their dna / fingerprints are !
All a wife , lover or anyone in the know has to do is give a name !Surly the police can engineer a incident whereby a finger print is required ?
So if you have a name people give it !

And an expert brought in to shed light on this case in a tv programme contradicted Malyn in saying the Dark Man who stops abruptly back of her house was NOT a local

And the embassy regal packet crushed up outside Claudia's doorway-Google maps

Perhaps "Columbo" was busy assisting others to cover the tracks of a specific "BBC celebrity" and his palls or having food at his "Breakfast Club"?

Yes-But the male could also have been a passenger in car / partner of female. As @Yozzer suggested.
Try not to be too defensive of Claudia's friends @Popejohn3 People may get the wrong impression?
I hear what you are saying but can’t believe this couple won’t offer to be tested !?
As the police keep saying ‘ the process of elimination is very simple ‘
And it would be very poor policing if these two have not been eliminated !
