If that's true she probably needed to get rid of the sunbed in her spare room or move it elsewhere in the house. All of which requires help possibly not if it had been moved just across the landing if it had wheels etc. It depends on the size of her bedroom/the landing area. If she was going to get rid, did she sell it or arrange for it to be taken somewhere? Which would involve a vehicle. Could she have had an accident while doing so?

Could any of the sightings have been either a hired person by someone with knowledge about C's private life looking for revenge w cunning and perhaps contacts to cover their tracks, or someone who may or may not have gotten the wrong end of a stick, and was suspicious due to gossip about Claudia? Did someone take advantage of this suspicion for their own ends, even if not directly involved?

I remember seeing some interior photos of Claudias House one was of the bedroom with the sunbed but I didnt save it I did a quick Google search but it didnt come up.
JK lodged with Claudia for some time so if she already owned the sunbed she would know how the space was managed.

When Jen says Claudia used to have lodgers I believe her . How many and how long for and how much she charged only her family know I would imagine and the lodgers themselves of course !
I find it odd that NYP didn't raise this when describing the complications of tracing dna, contacts etc.

Having lodgers is encouraged by the government that is why it’s tax free up to a point !

Doesn't work very well with social distancing though does it ;)

Have to apologise I might’ve misled people . it was Suzy who said ( in Gone ) that Claudia had lodgers !
Of course Suzy might have just been referring to Jen ! But she did say lodgers !

A couple of articles (BBC News, D. Telegraph) say that CL became friends with SC in the Nag's Head in 2006 yet CL didn't buy her house in H. Road until November 2007. I have no reason to doubt 2006 but what attracted CL to the Heworth scene before living there?

I don’t think this info is correct... Claudia was in her house at least three years plus Suzy met her 2.5 years earlier

The Land Registry says it was bought 16 Nov 2007. This will have been the completion/move-in day. Also the bbc news article states below the pic of her home 'Claudia purchased the house in Heworth Road in 2007'

The trio formed a close friendship soon after meeting at the pub in 2006 and spent several nights there a week

"Claudia is funny, kind, happy, very social," says Miss Cooper, who forged a friendship with her after meeting her in the Nag's in 2006.

Yes, there's an obvious discrepancy between the "Gone" book and all other accounts of the sequence of events on the afternoon of 18/3/09 from CL leaving work then posting the letter at Melrosegate post office, then getting a lift home. The muddled account in "Gone" doesn't make sense. The lift home obviously came after she posted the letter, not the other way round. If she wanted to post another letter after getting home there are post boxes much nearer to home than the one at Melrosegate PO.

The problem I have with this version of events is that it was published in March 2013, months before the cold case review led by Dai Malyn was launched. The book has some useful background on the case but will inevitably be missing some key post-2013 developments.

So if her relationship with DW ended Aug 2006 and fling with LH started end of 2006, did she know/befriend someone who frequented the Nag's e.g. SS who I think she knew via Cyprus holidays.

From same article...(for those who don't know 'Nouse' is a York University publication):
This is intriguing....from her best friend SC in March 2010. 'Confused' suggests she was stunned to learn this information - presumably NYP would have named the York man to Peter L. Would they, or PL, have raised his name with SC? After all she was a close friend. She seems hurt by this revelation.

Miss Cooper said she was also confused by this week’s revelation that police knew Miss Lawrence to have been in a casual relationship with a man from York. She said: “I didn’t know Claudia was seeing someone casually. I thought I knew everything about her, and then I found out that I didn’t. “That is hard for me to accept, but now I’ve thought about it in realistic terms, it’s not actually that unusual. She didn’t have to tell me everything.”
In a FB conversation with SC last year she admitted that whilst she thought she knew her friend extremely well, Galloway had told her that there was much that SC did not know about her friends secret life. As usual though she was very tight lipped when pushed further in what that secret life was.

Claudia lived in a house close by to Heworth Road In I believe Thirlmere Road, Heworth before purchasing the property in Heworth Road. Does JK say that she categorically lodged with Claudia at the Heworth Road house or at the one before that and did her Dad not also appear to be the owner of the previous house?
Did Claudia move to Heworth Road because of the proximity to the Nags Head?

Even with it being written pre 2013. What Root is suggesting in his book is that she walked all the way back to Melrosegate Post Office after her lift home to post a letter which of course she would not do.
Please remember that this book doesn't discuss controversial issues and so is unlikely to be as factual as it could be.
I don't understand why he didn't capture the facts from the Crimewatch programme which show Jo her work colleague stopping in a lay by AFTER Melrosegate post office to give her a lift on the final leg of her journey.
I identified the address from where Jo stopped her car from the Crimewatch footage. It was definitely after the Post Office.
Photo is a still from Crimewatch programme of reconstruction.

Yes-Claudia would have lived closer to Suzy then as Thirlrmere Drive (Her home before Heworth Road) would have been in the same direction as Suzys at Tang Hall and they may well have walked (Staggered) home together from Nags Head
