CL spoke to parents at 20:10. Last she was heard of alive.

Someone sends an outgoing text from CL phone at 20:23 to Jen King-Was it Claudia or Perp?

In message Jen advises that CL describes how busy she will be for next few weeks due to 12 early shifts and "wont have much of a social life".

Both men were seen 1 hour before CL speaks to parents and parents call would be completed before text to Jen sent.
Dark man appears on Heworth Place at 19:15 and is in sight for 4 seconds
He goes out of sight for 26 seconds

Whatever 2 men were doing, they did 1 hour before ending call with parents.

How would they know she was talking to her parents and know when to wait until?
What and where were they all of that time-In Nags until closure or perhaps a bit earlier?

Following morning Dark Alley Man returns from Heworth Road and is seen on CCTV at 5:07.07
after 4 seconds he disappears out of sight at 5:07.11

Whilst he is out of sight Light man is seen on other side of Heworth road, walking at a much faster pace-he is in view between 5:07.21 and 5:07.25 (24 seconds) 2 seconds less than the night before.

He re appears at 5:08.01-Exactly 50 seconds later

Just googled Tommy Ward, I think I remember him. Sad to hear he passed away if that's the case, he was lovely

Man with Hip length Tan coloured thin Mac type jacket with a hood seen on phone, he had a small dark rucksack with very little in it and approaching her house.


CL comes to door, she is also on phone and is surprised to see him and lets him in. Before doing so she looks up and down the road??

Was this person staying with CL and were they still there on night of 18th march?

Was he the new stay out all night boyfriend?

He was reported to being in some distress?

Was he the person who was reported as being in a LTR with someone else?

We heard recently about the Dark Man only having enough time to get to rear of CL property or further along Heworth Place to approx Number 15.

Here is a screenshot of this address and as you can see, there is a Key Lock outside where keys can be left and accessed by combination PIN. I have checked back over Google as far as it goes and this was in place back in 2012 and still is today.

As we know, one of POIs purchased this property in July 2009 and it is in Joint ownership with someone else?

I cant identify who owned the property before then but if one of Perps had stayed here before they may know the code?

Is it possible that rather than the keys to Number 15 being in this key safe, CL house keys were left here?

Tuesday would be bin day but in 2009 it was before they issued Wheelie Bins and just used Black Sacks.

I think that would depend on the type of person the colleague was. If he was really into CL, you would expect him to retain that type of information. If he was the type who let her talk about herself freely but was only really half listening, maybe it took some prompting (the stories in the press which emerged about boyfriends) to trigger the memory. He doesn't appear to fit the profile the police have promoted either. Frustrating for all concerned though.

@moonsafari NYP also discount the morning Dark Man CVTV as being a landlord yet they rave on about the evening CCTV even though Stevie wonder can see it's the same guy in both CCTV clips

The Sun published a sensible comment in June this year as follows regarding Claudias phone;

“The suspect, looks at the phone at 12.10pm, realises there is a missed call, realises the phone is still switched on and then switches it off.

“Once realising Claudia has a missed call, the most likely thing you would think a suspect would do is smash it or break it or throw it in the river, which would provide the network with an implicit detachment record.

“However, that didn’t happen. It appears what we get here is an explicit detachment, meaning the suspect had the calmness of mind to think: ‘I’d better switch the phone off in the normal way.’”

Food for thought.

Good thinking ML. Another possibility is the utility box on the wall of the end terrace in the alley. This would be more discreet than running the risk of being spotted by a HP resident and would be easily accessible with a standard key.

The other possibility is that Dark person was getting the key to this property to put Claudia in.
