even if AWOL is not 1st on the list then It would in my mind be 2nd , ware might he be , who did he know etc, ware did he travel to within the last couple of months etc, let's try and get a time line going from say July until he went missing , IMO it would be more use then any bin lorry or phone,
I can't remember what the last poll results were that Cover Me Cagney did. Mental health and AWOL were discussed a couple of days ago, maybe on the previous thread but I think it's on this one, which is why I was suggesting if you wanted to type it in the search area at the top of this thread. It would be just wonderful if he was alive and while there is no news there is still hope. All areas are extremely useful, every single one, including the bin lorry, phone, everything counts, every detail, and more than once. Coming back again and again with fresh eyes and being objective. if a person wanted to go AWOL not from job just AWOL from life in general like many people do each year I'm sure that it would be quite possible ,

Thank you everyone for your kind wishes regards today's search.
It was well organised and very well manned. The SULSAR guys really were brilliant.
We wrapped it up at around 3.15 due to fading light but our group did get a really good area of ground searched and eliminated from the enquiry.
It was foggy, cold, wet & hard going. My ankles are sore, my head hurts from concentrating on scouring the ground for 6 hours and my heart leapt in my chest every time I saw something pale on the ground or when the team leader shouted "line stop" but I would do it again in a heartbeat, no hesitation.
Thank you again

Well done to you emmie, and all of the search team, that hard exercise should have you sleeping well....it's likely to take time to find Corrie but people like you make it just that wee bit easier for the family and friends.

A short piece in the Express about yesterday's search, with a photo of Nicola on the search. The photo shows bum-high weeds, brambles and other ground cover, showing how close searchers would need to be to cover the ground effectively.

Exactly melmoth it looks as I described in my last post. We have a small piece of foreshore woodland and the cover is worse than that- even impenetrable in places.

With all the talk of the two people on the cctv at 3.26 yesterday I had another look but my mobile just cannot view with any clarity. However this is a still shot only and there are obviously no other better shots so it does pose some serious questions.
1. They are walking towards horseshoe people have said.
2. They could have seen corrie or not which could clarify his leaving time.
3. Why have they not been caught on any other cameras?
4. If they have not been caught on other cameras, then corrie or vehicles may also not be caught on camera.
So whether they are identified or not this is actual proof you can go past, in or out of the horseshoe unrecorded isn't it?

It's funny you think this because I looked on the day the pics came out and wondered if this was him with the USAF guy from Mamma Mia
Good point muriel, but then wouldn't the police know that already as they know what he looks like and have interviewed him? Perhaps police should contact him again, however, to see if he recognises them if they are connected with the USAF bases.

I have spent over a week reading through the entire Corrie discussion. At times, I've managed to spook myself so much that I couldn't sleep for hours! There are some really smart and really compassionate people on here and I'd want you sleuthing if anything happened to a member of my family.

Also, because I read it all within a short period, I remembered bits and pieces better than I would have done in "real time" and, as such, I kept noticing people misremembering and missing bits and ending up making incorrect info into facts. A few times, I wanted to click reply and correct them, but since I was reading stuff from weeks ago, I knew it was pointless! It's just something to bear in mind, although in fairness, I think everyone is trying his/her best and we're only human!

I thought AWOL for quite a while, but lately I've flitted between AWOL and Adrian Lynch mark 2. If it weren't for the mobile phone anomaly, I'd be dead set on accidental death en route home, but the mobile phone is a little odd. That said, when it transpires what actually happened, I expect we'll all say, "oh, so it was a simple explanation all along".

I have found myself feeling quite sad over Corrie. I really hope he is AWOL :-(

<modsnip> Hello, everyone.

If Corrie has gone awol then all we can do is wait for him to show up. As members of the general public we aren't going to be able to look at his movements before September 23rd. There is no information out there. His social media accounts have been locked down and most likely for good reason, so people cannot contact his friends to ask about his personal life. Sleuthing the facts of the case is one thing, speculating about his mental health or reasoning why he may have decided to go awol is one thing. But to insert yourself into his personal life isn't fair. The police will most likely be looking at these avenues and if they're taking awol seriously as an option they will be considering where he might have gone and who he would be with or who would know his whereabouts.

The fact remains that while he may have chosen to go awol and put his family through all this (because people do, my mum was talking about a 15 year old girl who ran away and was found ten years later living in America) it's also possible (and likely) he's died from misadventure or (less likely) there is a dangerous person out there.

It's all very well to have opinions and strong suspicions but there is no evidence to support any theory. If there is then let's hope the police find him and bring to light the true events of that night.

I have sent messages to a couple of posters, BTW. I've never done that before, but just felt that I'd like to :-) Hello, everyone.

Welcome! I'm currently reading some old threads on the forums to help get some knowledge down before posting and the urge to reply to old posts (in ny case sometimes years old!) is strong haha!

we have all been around and around the loading bay and the bin lorry more times then I can count , and we are no more forward then we were 10 weeks ago, so I would suggest that we all put that to rest and move on to new ground , some ware like fife corries old stomping ground that he still went back to regularly might be a good start, what was corries nights out like and what is normal , I'm up for doing a bit of investigation and see what he was like back home, would like to know if it fits in with bse , sleeping , drinking, and going of on his own, !!!

I'm with you on this Scorpio, we haven't even got out of the horseshoe yet and Corrie left there 12 weeks ago!
OK, we don't know how, but we do know that he IS NOT there which means he is somewhere else.
I am strongly of the view that Corrie is AWOL. There is no evidence to prove otherwise, but I do think a 3rd Party is involved in helping him hide up.
I've a feeling that the RAF was not for Corrie and he wanted out, the problem being you can't get out that easily so in desperation he has just decided to leave.
Because of this, I would be interested more in what the penalties of being AWOL are and at what point the RAF just give up on you?

It's frustrating because you want to say "nooo! Let me correct you on that," but then you realise that the comment was posted a month and a half ago.

I think everything has been corrected now, but I think posts get missed when people are following in real time.

The 5am vs. 8am discrepancy really bugged me because it was explained early on, but then three-or-so threads' worth of comments got it wrong and cast negative aspersions on the investigation and Corrie's mum as a result :-( Never mind. I think it's all moved on now anyway ☺️

It would be so lovely if this could be wrapped up in time for Christmas.

The express article posted by Melmoth is interesting because it explains the reason for the search location. Nicola is quoted as saying this is the route he could have walked back to honington if he had had a lift and been dropped at a roundabout. No mention of abduction so perhaps we should look at that possibility? I.e. lift out of town centre then walk to Hon? I don't think that has been covered by us has it? I did recently say how do we know he didn't make it back to base and go awol or missing later?

If he got an innocent lift part way then why has the driver not come forward?

Perhaps that was the lead (anonymous) that has been spoken of. There must have been something that directed the search there but we don't know what that was - we have what is reported in the paper though.

I'm doubtful because I think we'd be hearing of forensics on a vehicle, the questioning of someone.... It would constitute a big shift in the investigation.

Does anyone know how large the radius of the BM phone mast is and how long would it take to search it all?

Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk
I can't see that anyone has answered you but there are mastmaps on the find corrie website as well as some at beginning of this thread by midsummer based on a 3 mile estimated radius so pye r squared would be about 27 square miles approx I think.

But it was anonymous I understand correct me if wrong so they wouldn't know the vehicle. Welcome to the thread by the way, Happy

I see what you mean. I still feel doubtful, but it's a good point.
