Hi all, i'm new on here but have been following since the beginning. I work within the recovery community although i don't work in a residential stetting i am familiar with aspects of it. I don't believe they (at focus 12) would be able to leave the premises certainly not in the evening. It seems that Focus 12 is a 12 step rehab and therefore they will attend AA meetings either in house or other AA (or other mutual aid) meetings in the district as a group, particularly in the evenings. Residential rehabs tend to have a minibus that facilitates this. The programmes are very intense and obviously focused on recovery. If you have found yourself in rehab you'll have been assessed and being ready for that process. Therefore it is unlikely (but not impossible of course) that there would be any substance use or other risky behaviour talking place. As one persons behaviour could effect the rest of the groups recovery it would be nipped in the bud straight away and a close eye is kept one people and each other. Am i right in thinking that the focus 12 in the HS is NOT the residential, but offices belonging to focus 12? Residents dont go home but usually have visitors at the weekend.
Also i know it was confirmed that he was drinking whilst sat in his car taking to his brother but do we know what and how much he was drinking? Rule of thumb would be that it takes 1 unit one hour to leave the body. There is no amount of sleeping or eating that sobers you up ONLY time. This interests me as he was drunk prior to entering Flex, but how drunk?
