do we know if searches are still on going, or any more public searches planed or are they going to wait until the landfill is searched , probely would not be completed for at least a few months, I think this will we an indicator as to how sure they are that he is in the landfill by a absents of searches in other areas, IMOIMO

I think the last search was based on information given to them and it was close to the same area as before. I'm sure, with all the searches that have taken place, they have covered a large area around the BM mast range, so I don't know whether there is much more to be searched. Perhaps they are waiting on the landfill search, as if he is there, then there's no point searching elsewhere. If he isn't there, then I guess they will do more searching.

There has been much discussion on here about why did he drive?, why did he park where he did?, why didn't he go out with the friends? and so on ... surely we must have all had one of those moments in life when we think ....' oh why didn't i go out' .. I know i do and i am 55 !!! i drive into town, park the car .. and even then decide if i am or not going to drink .. if i drink i leave the car, if i don't i drive home. I was out on Saturday with friends, i loved the bar, they didn't . so they left me .. What i am trying to get at is that the evening is a lot more random that some want to believe ..

Where he parked might have been somewhere he saw and didn't spot the disabled sign. How long he spoke to his brother seems a random length. Yes he doesn't seem too fussed about rushing into town but then drinking pre bought alcahol in his car is much cheaper than in bars .. topping yourself up before going out is normal today. How long he spent in each bar is random .. being asked to leave one bar ... time spent in the takeaway ....
And as for sleeping in a doorway .. did he really set out to sleep there or more fell asleep ??? didn't he sit down there to eat his food ???
how much food he ordered .. yes it was a lot .. but i have a mate that orders two big mac meals at the end of an evening ..

Reality is that the time he entered the HS is totally random based on the events of the evening, especially the random length of time he nodded off for ...

So if we run with the fact the time he entered the HS is totally random, then 'what' happened in the HS was being in the wrong place at the wrong time ...

Although it has been discussed and speculated at length, the facts of the whole evening will be fully known to the police, who have interviewed friends, acquaintances, random people, staff, base personnel, family, swingers contacts etc and they will know the full picture of the whole evening. They will therefore know if he was meeting someone or not IMO. I think that is why they seem convinced he left in a vehicle.

  • #265
Isn't the fact they are convinced he left in a vehicle pure and simply that it was the only way he could leave the HS, be that voluntarily or not ... what took him to the HS at that time is based on a series of random events ..
i) time spent on phone to brother
ii) time in bar before being asked to leave
iii) queue in takeaway
iv) how long he slept for ...

@ YC

I guess the reason is because he hasn't been seen leaving on foot. However, he hasn't been seen leaving in a vehicle either or by any other means so perhaps they have other evidence of a meeting? We cannot speculate forever on such limited info tbh. He had all evening to arrange how he was getting back to base or wherever he was planning to go.

When the A11 was searched south of BM, how far did they go, does anyone know or remember? E.g. did they search as far as Red Lodge (approx 3 miles )?

  • #268
Does anyone remember a MSM report that said "C told a homeless guy he was planning on walking back that night"?
Was there any more info related to that report, such as whereabouts this conversation took place & at what time roughly?

to what I can remember they only searched from BM along the A11 up to herringswell road junction, I'm surprised that the A 1101 from bury to BM hasn't been fully searched to what I know they have only done bits of it never walked the full road checking the verges on each side, IMO.

i do remember it and it never said much , I've alway presumed that he spoke to the homeless man between flex and the takeaway as we saw a lot of the CCTV after takeaway to door way,

The only place I can still see that is on one of the early threads here. I think it was thread 1 or 2 and was a post by midsummers day. I believe that person is the one going into Mcd still awaiting identifying or could even be the other person too.

I'm fairly confident it's all been searched

But the homeless man must have already come forward in order to have reported that C said he'd walk home?

Thank you Scorpio1 & Shiresleuth*
*That's also answered another question which had been on my mind, where the cctv of the old guy was taken? Cheers for that.

It was said in the very early days that the homeless man had been spoken to, hence if he had not how could we have the it looks like I'm walking home comment ,

Both of your statements must be correct so neither of the last two can be the one C spoke to.

The post by Midsummer that mentioned C talking to homeless guy was on thread 2 dated 11-01-16 08.52 p.m. I spotted it again when reviewing old posts.
