I think an avenue that might be explored is that Corrie was waiting for someone.
It is speculated that he was offered a lift by the USAF guy, but this was refused

Could this be because he'd already arranged a lift somewhere and was hurrying to make a deadline/rendezvous? Perhaps trying to get a taxi from the square but realised that he couldn't take his Kebab in the vehicle so decided to eat it and dozed off after setting his alarm for 0300 to meet with his work pals and get a taxi back with them at 0330?

I also think they use a manual and cctv sorting system for recycling and someone would have noticed a phone going through. They may not have salvaged it, but they would have seen it before it was sent to general waste. <modsnip>

And I think that is potentially why they have discarded that theory - biffa bins have cctv on disposals and a lot of staff at their sites as a private company.

I agree. But just to clarify, I would have thought that the lorries have reversing cameras fitted but NOT recording cameras. The Biffa sites however, I would imagine have shed loads of them because of H&S and working at night?

Isn't the bin weight the reason they have discarded the bin theory? The load was weighed at the time it was picked up and according to the weight he wasn't in the bin, no way, no how.

I remeber a bin weight figure of 11kg being mentioned.

He fell asleep, before he could get up and walk to get a taxi ?

Apparently, it wasn't the norm for him to sleep in the doorway. So perhaps what was happening was out of the norm.

So, the biggest not normal thing maybe, he was "ejected from the club". He would have undoubtedly stayed until it closed at 3am, which would mean anything "pre arranged" for 3.30am was within "the norm".

Apparently he left of his own accord, this was clarified recently.

It called "asked to leave" as opposed to "which paving slab would you like to land on".

Possibly true, however his mum posted he left of his own accord and was not asked to leave as was previously reported. Any could potentially be true- I take all those postings with caution, I feel his mum is trying to be proactive, but is also in the difficult position of defending her sons moral code.

So where was the bin lorry heading then, MelmothTheLost? Could someone with Facebook ask on the Find Corrie page where the bin lorry was heading and which landfill site they keep referring to is?

I really have no idea where it was going. I think someone a page or two ago mentioned that there might be a paper/card facility at Thetford, but you simply wouldn't travel from BSE to Thetford (north) via Barton Mills because it would be 2 sides of a triangle and the A134 is the direct route.

I notice in the interview with the ex-detective that there is a blue bin behind Greggs and it is this one that is for cardboard/paper? The BSE council do do collections for small businesses according to the website: http://www.westsuffolk.gov.uk/Business/commercial_services/recycling-services.cfm

So my logic here is that the council did collect and therefore must have took it to one of their 11 household recycling centres. The one in Mildenhall being the closest one that deals with cardboard? to where Corrie's phone pinged last?

I think it could be possible that the bin lorry man worked nights/early mornings collecting local small business cardboard?

Looking at Biffa and their bins are red and they are located very close to where there was a possible sighting of Corrie. They are on the Hollow Road industrial estate.

The lack of clarification about anything is really making this hard to make sense of though and I feel if this carries on for the next few days the public interest will dwindle. So frustrating.

I'd guess back to the Hollow Road Biffa site via a few dozen places such as food outlets, hotels, pubs, shops etc?

I'm reading posts backwards with kids twittering on at me and simultaneously sorting out a huge sock pile (wouldn't be surprised if I found a phone in it), but Hollow Road jumped out at me, isn't that where the potential 4:20am sighting was?

Hollow Road is indeed where the potential sighting of Corrie was (near sugar beet factory). BBC News article.

Isn't it a strange coincidence that the guy saw the possible sighting of Corrie at 4.20am and the bin lorry driver saw the teens (elsewhere) specifically at 4.20am too. Clearly 4.20am is a good time to spot people ;)

Maybe Corrie was making his way to the Biffa depot knowing that he'd accidentally dropped his phone in one of their bins and to see if he could get it back ... at 4.20am in the morning. A tad unlikely, I know, but the drunk brain isn't always very logical!

Far too many bin/Corrie related coincidences.

I'm even thinking the phone went into the the blue bin and Corrie into a red bin right now...

Yes, Biffa have a site there but if you look at google streetview the images dated 2009 show just an open space with a block of portacabins and parking for vehicles. The satellite images date from 2016 and still show the same. So there are no processing or sorting facilities there.

Chances are then that the rubbish dumped at biffa never reached landfill before being seen by police. It was
Possibly still in a small container a few days later. All assumptions I know, but I dread to think that police are that incompetent they just let it all go, I think the tracing of the rubbish dumped was just cleared early on as it needed very little searching. The differing times however are a lot more puzzling and the fact they seem unable to clarify the binmans location.

Yes it does look like a place where they just take all collected full bins or just where empty bins are stored. Here is a graphic of how Biffa operate. I can't make head or tale of it but shows their process.
