An urgent appeal has been launched by police to help trace a missing woman with links to Blackpool and Preston.

Elaine Charleston was last seen at the Mercure Hotel on Orchard Street in Wigan three months ago on February 4. The 49-year-old is also known to have links to the Wigan and Leigh areas.

Officers say they are becoming increasingly concerned about her welfare. An appeal was shared by the force today (May 5) on Facebook along with picture of Elaine.

Elaine Charleston, 49 was last seen at the Mercure Hotel, Wigan on 04/02/2022.

Elaine has links to Wigan, Leigh, Preston and Blackpool areas.

Officers are becoming increasingly concerned about Elaine and want to make sure she is safe and well.

Anyone with information about Elaine’s whereabouts should contact police on 101 quoting missing reference number MSP/06LL/0001048/22.

The hotel is closed as a hotel.

She may have been homeless if staying there, which may account for the long delay in reporting.
