December just gone while getting a visit from Oliver whilst on remand.

Oh of course. I always get confuddled with New Year

I don't understand this. IS got his Zopiclone in January didn't he ? So he mentioned this odd couple in December = as part of his plan ? Or have I misunderstood

January 25, 2016 was when he got the Zopiclone .....

December 16, 2016 - at his final pre trial hearing - was the first time he mentioned Nick and Joe to the authorities

Alleged CCTV footage of Stewart and Ms Bailey together

The first CCTV footage jurors are being shown is on April 9, 2016, of Ms Bailey and Stewart at a Tesco store.

Mr Wynn said whilst the couple were there an incident of shoplifting occurred and a security guard asked to use Stewart’s phone.

This CCTV footage was obtained during the investigation of that theft, he said. The CCTV is now being played and this is the first alleged sighting of Ms Bailey on CCTV.

The defence deny the two people seen in the footage were Ms Bailey and Stewart, jurors are told.

The more I read, the more bizarre all this sounds. By all accounts IS was/is not a violent man according to his son's (which is corroborated by other family members).
The evidence against him in this case seems overwhelming though so he is either a master of disguise in the past or has had an absolute sudden personality change. And then you come back to why. Why? They sound like they were happy as a couple, happy as a family and had no money worries (unless IS had money issues Helen and the boys were not aware of).
i wouldn't like to be on this jury.

I wonder who he told first - OS or the authorities on December 16

eta . . answered my own question, he told OS first and then made his statement at the pre trial hearing on December 16

Not even raised voices' between Stewart and Ms Bailey

Oliver said he could be wrong about his dad going for a haircut on April 11, 2016.

He said he’d never seen an argument between his dad or Helen, not even raised voices.

“The only time there was an atmosphere is when they couldn’t go on holiday they had planned because dad was due to have an operation, which was cancelled.”

Oliver said he was unaware of the couple being engaged, but said he was happy at the thought of them marrying. He said there weren’t any financial worries and the financial position of each of them was not a worry - in fact it was quite the opposite.

Too damned right!

Reading this on holiday in Portugal when I should be in the sunshine and am so impressed at the intellect and voices on this forum. I only hope that justice prevails.

...this followed an earlier question of Stewart's son about how Ian Stewart and Helen Bailey hung their bedding up to dry on dining chairs..

( I have no idea how this fits in, I just copied it because it was another tweet from WMSky )

More footage from Royston

The next footage is of Royston Household Waste Site on April 11, 2016, where Stewart can allegedly be seen at the site.

Next up is the Market Hill area of Royston, where a local authority camera picked up Stewart’s car parked outside a Chinese takeaway. It is not contested that Stewart visited the takeaway, the court is told.

The next footage is the same waste site on April 13, showing Stewart’s BMW car coming back to the same site.

CCTV also picked up the same BMW vehicle in Broadstairs approaching the nearest parking area to Ms Bailey’s holiday home.

Many. many thanks to Alyce for all the updates.

How odd that he would deny being in Tesco with Helen, especially as there was interaction with a security guard who can presumably ID him.

I can only think it was something to do with the phone he loaned to the security guard (unless he refused to do so).

From this I gather he didn't take any rubbish on 13/04/16 to the waste site? Just appeared to go for a check ? How odd, I'm not convinced by that and feel it proves nothing so surprised it was mentioned.

How does the Tesco incident figure in this?

  • #1,820
I wonder if the Tesco footage showed IS lifting some heavy grocery items into his trolley ?
