Thanks for this info, Alyce. Well, am sure he must have got conditional bail then.
I think, if I were in this position and innocent and I believed that it WAS possible that my partner had just 'disappeared' (as Helen had in fact discussed) I would go on the pre planned holiday as a bit of a stubborn stuff you if nothing else.
Until you've been in a particular situation you can not possibly anticipate how you'd react.
My missing cat has still not returned and even though I know he could be lay dead, hit by a car and crawled off into bushes, I have had and do have feelings of anger towards him, especially when there's been tears from my little boy - 'how could you do this Teddy!? Why would just not come home? And well 'FINE' you don't come home then... miniscule compared to a missing human being but my point is that WE can't really say that Ian shouldn't have gone to Spain (those who read the Becky Watts book will recall Darren and Anji having to stay in a hotel and getting drunk in the hotel bar, Paige Doherty's parents went on holiday soon after Paige's murder, I personally can't imagine doing that but ... )
He may have gone hoping that she'd turn up there, that she'd done a disappearing act but what if she turned up at the holiday destination?
It's all very very bizarre ... and heartbreaking and I really do wish that we could just rig people up to polygraphs and see what light that might shed ...
Nothing new, but a lovely tribute from a neighbour in Broadstairs. I meant to put this up a few days ago and , interestingly, I see it has now been edited.
A neighbour living in Serene Place said: "I knew Helen really well, we have been friends for more than 10 years and she lived directly opposite me.
"You would find her down here a lot because she practically lived down here.
"It wasn't as though this was a holiday home only frequented once every year, she would be here come rain or shine or blizzard.
"She was an absolutely lovely woman and very generous, she was charming, very smiley and witty.

Unless they have only released this info now, but had already discovered her body earlier this week?
RIP Helen and presumably also Boris. I feel so sad. I know my friend is going to be shattered to the core.
