My DH has just asked would it not be better if the family did not find out it could have been murder? Thinking about it, finding out one's daughter had been murdered rather than had died from unknown, possibly natural, causes, could be very disturbing.

I think I'd want answers if I was in their shoes, I have an Uncle who died age 41 of unknown causes, it still upsets my Nan that she doesnt know what happened and why he died.

So which prison is he at ? ( Thought Alyce had suggested Peterborough as a possible final destination, at one stage)

I want to see him a postcard from Joe & Nick.

Going to tune into this C5 programme tonight even though I don't hold much hopes for in-depth info .

Definetely recording it (I'm out tonight) so I can watch it tomorrow.... I just hope its better than C5's normal standards!

Oh I so agree with you and your wise hubby! Unfortunately it seems as if the police wheels were already rolling, almost right after they charged IS with Helen's murder. Plus, the family always had some doubts it seems - but perhaps not that IS was a murdering P*G. So the flip side is that, if possible, they deserve some sort of closure.
I think the sons have a right to know too. If it was my parent I would want to know the truth.

Talk about a small world - down here in Cornwall, just been talking to someone in the village who has a friend who once had IS and Diane to dinner!

Re the posts about Diane & IS's reln.

He definitely did mention a row he had with Diane which led to her going to her Mum's for the night and after that they never spent a day apart or wtte. He added something along the lines of them missing each other so much it was almost worth having the row.
( No idea which day of his testimony this was. ) Too eurgh to even think about what he meant by the latter.

Anyway, wouldn't believe a syllable that dribbles out of that horrible mouth with it's curled lips!!!

On Diane and him generally though I notice Bright quoted Dr Pinto saying that his MG was successfully controlled by meds by 2007.
Diane was dead by June 2010. Nothing to link the two really, just saying.....

One thing that really leaps out of this article - IS was so keen to lay it on thick during the trial about the epilepsy angle, from Diane being quite young. Then, he swiftly skimmed over her death - leaving the question hanging in the air - he'd inferred, therefore everyone should believe. I was quite relieved to read that Diane's Mum also wants answers, I would too! In fact,I'd be screaming to get in the cell with the slimeball and shake it out of him - until his teeth rattled and his piles dropped out!

The worst thing is going to be continuing to not know. surely - there would always be a "did he/didnt he" thought in the back of their minds, repeatedly going over the events before and after for any red flags, comparing his reaction to Diane's death with his reaction to Helen's disapearace etc

That's interesting! What impression did she form of him?

Thanks for this Tiny.

She must be blind-sided with the last 7 weeks of revelations as this is what she had said July last year.

"Yesterday Mr Stewart’s former mother-in-law, Noreen Lem, said she was stunned by his arrest.
She added: ‘Ian was married to my daughter for over 20 years and he was a very kind man who was loving to my daughter and their sons James and Oliver.
‘I couldn’t imagine him doing something as horrible as this. I can’t begin to imagine what the boys are going through right now.’"

And in the Sun article which Tiny has posted to - no mention from Noreen about epilepsy at all.

She said: “She was fit, happy and healthy and too young to suddenly die. It was such a shock. Now there’s a possibility her husband had something to do with it.”

Noreen said: “I do not know personally how she died. There wasn’t an accident, or illness. The Coroner said she died in unknown and inexplicable circumstances. It was very strange but at the time I never questioned it.”

Exactly the same as the old friend Bill Manley had said in the video ( previous thread), no mention of epilepsy , instead how fit and healthy she was.

Exactly ice.
Have a real question mark over Diane experiencing epilepsy as a child. It's also eery to think that IS was alone with Diane when she passed. She looks a very warm lady from her pictures and must have absolutely adored her two boys.

This is from the Sun report.

"If he did I’d want to think it was not intentional
. But I just don’t know, it’s all very upsetting and I don’t know what his motive would have been"

I agree the horse has bolted but I am not sure this lady is ready for a confirmed murder. Also, she does say she wants to know in the same report but adds that she wants to feel it is an accident. That suggests to me that me she really is not ready to hear the worst.

"I can't begin to imagine what the boys are going through now."

It doesn't sound like IS has exactly been assiduous on his sons' behalf in maintaining their relationship with their maternal grandparents, does it?

Thanks so much Cotton. If Diane did indeed have epilepsy her closest friends and family would have surely mentioned it? I know a few friends who had fits in childhood and they still wear wrists just in case.

Its very weird that zopiclone has a side effect of epilepsy....

To be accurate, it was WITHDRAWL from Zoplicone which has epilepsy as a rare side effect. It does not, of course, preclude IS' involvement in her untimely demise.
