After your previous links (which I found very interesting, thanks) I did read about Whitemoor. 400 or so inmates, single cells, a 9 bed sickness bay - no doubt where IS will spend most of his time - but disappointed at the range of occupations available.

I do hope he doesn't get on any computer courses.
I hope he doesn't manage to fake illness too often as an excuse to slob around like he is used to. I hope too that the prison guards lack empathy for someone like him and work hard to keep him put of the sick bay.

Yes, Jan Moir of the Mail is a shocker. I'll never forget her article after Steven Gately's death.

Unbelievable how the author abuses and twists HB's tale for venting her own political views.

DISGUSTING!

DO names The Telegraph as one source of perpetuating dangerous myths. Follow the link and this is what it says:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/life/middle-aged-women-vulnerable-internet/

This becomes even more apparent when they are going through difficult emotional times which come with this life-stage, such as divorce or bereavement when usual good judgement may not be so finely tuned and a lot of very personal information can be unloaded very quickly if they find someone to trust.

“The most successful scams are carried out on women between the ages of 40 and 60,” says psychologist Emma Kenny, who explores the perils of internet dating in the Channel 5 documentary Dated to Death, out next month.

“Increasingly, older men are going out with much younger partners. A lot of middle-aged women find themselves incredibly lonely and this emotional vulnerability can cause them to make bad choices. Quite often, a woman will go for someone who validates her, and she might reveal a lot of personal information early on, which enables predators.”

The number of people defrauded by online dating schemes has reached a record high, according to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau – last year, almost 4,000 victims of “romance fraud” handed over a staggering £39m. Forget the well-worn trope of the wealthy widow, conned overseas by an unscrupulous lothario you could see coming a mile off – the danger now has moved closer to home, and can be much harder to spot.

IMHO DO's observation
Sections of the media seem perfectly willing to use Bailey’s murder as an opportunity to reiterate that the grand old age of mid-40s renders women sad creatures who are pitiful and spent, almost inevitably unlovable and easy prey for psychopathic fantasist conmen. If anything makes “middle-aged women” vulnerable, it’s falling for all this ghastly negative reinforcement themselves.

is more of an indication of her own state of mind.

Joely, thank you, yet again, for another lovely post. Your words are so heartfelt and your love for Helen and Boris shines through.

Now, as to your comment that you are not a true WS person.
I have to tell you, that you are only new on these boards when you make your first post. After that time, you are as much a WSleuther as the rest of us. So whether you join in another thread or not, you are and always will be one of us. xx

Alyce sweet person, I have tears now tonight. But before bed and the last following of tonights conversation, I want to thank you for regarding my input as 'valuable' as you always have in your measured way. I know how busy and in depth you go into the subject of the Ian Stewart murder and the expertise you share with CW, Torty, LozD and tHE others where you share great depths of knowledge and research. BRAVO to all of you.

Did Mr Jitty get his link that he requested (I am not competent to do this) of the time that NOBODY sat in Helen's sitting room faking his knowledge of the 11th April. Mr Jitty wanted to study him again - and I agree, it is an interesting police cam.

And thank you Milly and Lit Up - and others who travelled to the Court when we longed to be a Camera, and they sated our need of not being able to see it all.

And thank you Dolly, for your passionate and succinct blast of words to help us to join in the explosion we feel ourselves. You are a little Wizard with words.

And thank you to my lovely ones who wrote to me directly and shared our Snowdrop Mug, which we can now drink tea from in unison.

And thank you to Net - for your inside info.

It really is a case of saying thank to you all .. and I shall hope we are here for a wee bit longer.

Most importantly, for Pip and Hunkerdown and others who have suffered greatly in knowing the kith and kin of Helen.

And heartfelt love from us all to John B, his partner - and Helen's Mum and Dad .. and their deepest loves.
We pray as a joint group for your healing and are in awe of your grace, John, at this most wretched time.

We SHALL not ever wish to invade your privacy - and indeed block any writing in media that does so.

Deepest hugs and love .. meanwhile, how can I feel sorry for that NOBODY in a a 9 x cell (?) - but I do. Gulp! How does one face 34 years of prison and a mirror of the truth of oneself. Calculating horrific man.

Oh...the Mail website has a long extract from Helen's book: they serialised it before, didn't they? I had not read it, apart from the extracts here, and some bits from the website. It makes sad reading now.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4258132/Memoirs-murder-victim-HELEN-BAILEY-s-book.html
They say money has been donated to the Dogs' Trust at the family's request.
Lovely, typical sensitivity of John and Helen's family and typical of the DM to grab the rights of quoting Helen's book.

None of the stupid 'I told you so Helen Bailey' articles by glib women journalists have grasped what happened. Helen was living with IS for several years, she thought she knew him. His methods were far more subtle gah a sudden demand for money after a website 'romance'. Sadly no-one could seen what happened. Only in hindsight. Helen was NOT TO BLAME! the blame rests squarely on the slouched shoulders of the horrible IS. Why not write an article about him instead? No that would take time to researched. Far easier to re hash cliches and blame the victim. I've been praying for the victims every night including Boris. Helen didn't believe in God she said but I'm sure God will make everything all right in the end. Which was a paraphrase of a 12th Century Christian thinker, Hildegard of Bingen. So I tend to think Helen wasn't an atheist at all. God be with you Helen and Boris. You'll be all right.

Apologies if I post anything that`s already been covered. I`ve only just scanned some posts or read some randomly out of sequence. Will take me days to catch up

Although we know a lot more about this case that is out there in the media, I did like some of the way the documentary on channel 5 was presented yesterday - in particular I loved the way that the real Helen was interspersed throughout, and thought that added real insight to the person that Helen was, and the enormity of the loss. It brought the reality "home" and added true poignancy to the horror. The specific parts where Helen`s voice was heard were carefully and thoughtfully placed IMO.

IS - given the choice as he unfortunately was- was absolutely no way going to appear publicly to face his sentencing and sentencing report. I think we now know enough about his character to understand that given the choice, he would not stand there and take the final humiliation (forget any guilt or remorse). After all, he was the big "I am". It seems like everything he had planned throughout his adult life had gone exactly his way. Each time. Be it the suing for compensation. Be it his (planned) critical illness insurance scoop. Be it (I am convinced), the disposal of his wife. And all the others things which I`m sure are there in his history, even if we are not aware. His plans and schemes worked every time with huge benefits.
He failed this time. He failed in the biggest, most dramatic way, in the full public view of strangers and family alike.
We now all know who IS is and who he has always been.
The mask he so successfully wore for over 50 years has crumbled to the ground and the truth of IS is fully exposed.
He was * never * that person who the world thought him to be.
The only person who hasn`t yet faced the real IS is IS himself. And he can`t and I don`t believe, ever will.
There was nothing to be gained (for him) to appear in person or re video link.
Listening to the programme on Radio 2 today - an interesting and never before discussed topic, regardless of IS - there was little that could be done to enforce his appearance. Sanctions? Like what? Reduce his sentence by 6 months? No visiting orders? (Who is going to visit him?) There was no carrot that could be offered which would have been enticing enough to compensate for facing the world as a vilified, despised, failure of a human being that he is.
When I first became interested in this case, and when I first went to court, in my naivety, I truly expected to see a broken man. A shrivelled, apologetic, frightened, fearful man.
I was wrong. And I was shocked by his demeanour. His calmness, his total lack of emotion. His manipulation. His entitlement. As the facts emerged, and have continued to emerge e.g. the critical illness insurance, as but one example - I see a portrait of a man who has plotted and planned and schemed his way through life. Who has learnt that lying and laziness and deception pays. Who can live a lazy, indolent, unconstructive life off the back of others. Who can take, and take some more...and keep taking. And each time his plans went to form and he derived the benefits and rewards, it just reinforced his behaviour and he felt invincible.
I believe he is in deep shock. Because this time he failed.
His whole past has caught up with him, finally, and exploded in his face.

OMG Michelle what a fantastic post. It says it all. Knowing you were there with the opportunity to study him, and that you confirm the unbelievable truth, is absolutely horrifying. How can such a monster have been created? The world will never ever forget this. He will go down in the history as one of the most evil killers, alongside Brady, Hindley, Bundy, Haigh and the like. Evil. He will be known as the cesspit killer. He should be put down.

BBC Local Live Interview with the real JOE

http://www.bbc.com/news/live/uk-england-cambridgeshire-39008873

He [ Joe Cippullo ] told me he last saw Stewart six years ago.

Mr Cippullo, who didn't want to be photographed, said he "doesn't understand why he went to court", and that Helen Bailey's murderer was "stupid to say all those lies".

He said he was "disappointed" by what had happened to him, as he only knew Mr Stewart from saying "hello".

He explained he was happy to go to court as he "respects the law", but now wanted his named "cleared".

He told me some people now think he was involved in the case and he wants that to be struck from the record.

"Clear my name, that is all," he said.

Don't know if this has already been mentioned, but if you're up early tomorrow tune in between 6-9am BBC Three Counties Radio:

Justin Dealey (@JustinDealey) tweeted at 4:15 PM on Fri, Feb 24, 2017:
Tomorrow's breakfast show is like this. Gilbert O'Sullivan, live music, transgender hate crime and a former friend of Ian Stewart speaks out

On Justin's FB page, he says this 'friend' has a lot to say! Wonder if it's the real Joe or Nick!

Thanks Milly have bookmarked that.

Interesting that WS site is moving smoothly in comparison to the last few days where almost 1,500 guests were tuned in.
I am so glad to have registered and become part of the conversation. My true value towards WS value is little but it's given me a chance to write thoughts and come to know you all.
Having always had interest in deconstructing language, humanities and illuminating writing I couldn't have come to a better place. It would have been so hollow in the heart to see news clips or daily newspapers or especially words spoken on 'Loose Women', which I can't bear.
Apart from the Dachshund Groups, I haven't ever known a group of people who cared so much for Justice for Helen .. and although we were all naturally downbeat at the end of the Trial. And yet satisfied with Judge Bright (I would have loved him to say more - but then I equally accept WHY spend time on him other than to give further comfort to the family and friends involved.)
I want to thank you the comfort you all have given me in being able to share your incredible sleuthing. Your words - your gift of writing - your heart spoken thoughts. Your analyse and humour is such a cushion against the reality of a Cesspit for a beautiful lady and her little dearest beloved four legged one.
Helen brought to Hartwell, cash and immediacy of purchase. He trailed behind in conveyancing terms but quite naturally brought his Sons.
Boris was Helen's Son - and the Father of two Sons killed his partner's child.

That is how I see it forever.

I shall miss you all. I want to be there for Helen and .... Diane. I don't want to say goodbye to some of the most lovely people in cyber realm. May I say thank you for welcoming me - embracing me despite that I am not a true WS and just an emotional writer. You have been AMAZING. Hugs and love, J

Expressed beautifully, Joely123

Will any of the 'older' Websleuths be able to give a bit of background on how, when and why Websleuths site came into being? I, like a lot of you, seemed to have stumbled upon it by accident. As Joely 123 has said, not to just rely on the media reporting and the sensationalism which goes with it and to be able to come here instead where fair, unbiased, and insightful opinions are shared is incredible.
