Can police not get the telecoms specialsits to find out which phones were receiving texts around his address at the time period where he claims to have been in touch with Nick & Joe daily?
Internet Café! You couldn't make it up.
What is all this importance about the phone?
“I thought if I had the power of attorney the lawyer could get on with it.
“With the [Fiat 500] car, Helen wanted to get rid of it. I couldn’t do that without the power of attorney.
“I also opened Helen’s mail, there were bills overdue already. “I was surprised they weren’t paid automatically, but I paid both of those.
“Helen kept the Broadstairs property and the Newcastle property as her financial business.
“I looked at the joint Santander account.”
She's shown as being on line and browsing this thread. I suspect she's like a lot of us - absolutely aghast. Don't worry, she'll come up with a corker for today I'm sure!

'Nick told me to go to Spain'
“Nick phoned and told me to go to Spain, I told him I’d already cancelled it.
“He said: ‘Just book and go. I just want you out the way’.
“Nick insisted I went. It just felt wrong. It was that time I started asking my family, Helen’s family, friends doctors if I should go. “They all said I should. I didn’t want to go. One nurse said go and made suggestions of what to do.
“In the end I did book another hotel.”
Well he didn't disappoint. He's still as mental as yesterday. Lies trip off his tongue so easily that I imagine he's been doing this all his life and getting away with it.
I'm behind so this has probably already been answered. It's just IS trying to explain away why the phone connected to the Broadstairs router when he was there.
This is really painful.

So what's all the nonsense about being told not to contact Helen if she didn't have her phone anyway?10:28
'I text Helen's phone even though I had it in my posession'
During this time Helens Jeep was at the front of the house. On the day I called the police and when police arrived, there was nothing covering up the view of the manhole cover to the cesspit in the garage.
Police were looking around, I showed them indoors, in the garden, just showing them around.
Just after 11.30pm I sent Helen a text to her mobile: You didnt go to Broadstairs, I contacted the police. I had no choice. They want to publicise this [that you are missing]. Please let us know youre OK.
I was texting Helen and Joe, thats just what I decided to do.
But I had the phone at the house at this stage to take to Broadstairs. I was texting it when I had it in my possession, knowing someone would have it tomorrow.
I thought I would give the phone to Helen the next day.
