.....more rewrites since listening to Sophie Hirsch's evidence on his dis engagement during rings appointment?

“There were going to be four pink ones. “I was letting Helen lead [the conversation] because it was always going to be the ring she wanted

or is this from earlier discovery mr jitty?

all the rest of that account has to be false

You could see the ring was quality, it was a different thing already. “Helen didn’t want to get it, she said ‘I can’t walk around with a ring on my finger costing that much, I won’t feel happy about it’. “I said I had money to spend on her to play with, I said this was a golden opportunity. “She said she was going to put it off until the wedding venue was booked. “The weekend before Helen was taken, she finally agreed. She was going to go for it.

“Helen wasn’t too keen on Royston for a few reasons"

Stewart is now going back to Christmas 2012. “Helen was still in Highgate, Christmas Day was spent at my house, Helen came up with Boris and spent three of four days. “It was after Christmas 2012 we decided to buy a house together. Helen’s house was sold first. “We looked at many online, and we were looking to buy in North Herts or South Cambs. “We looked at Hatfield, Welwyn, St Albans, but our house then came online and we arranged a viewing if Helen wanted to and she did. “Helen wasn’t too keen on Royston for a few reasons. “We walked in and we both fell in love with the house straight away. “It was bought with the proceeds from her Highgate house. “Her accountant suggested we bought the house in joint names to save paying stamp duty twice. “I handed over my money later.”

wow am utterly speechless at his lies and he really did recycle Diane's ring - this is the "token ring" he mentioned before

He expects us to believe that in contrast to all her comments on her expensive taste in rings on the blog/book.

I'm sorry I really don't believe that Helen looked in his dead wife's jewellery box and then asked if she could try on or have one of her rings. No way.

“The Bassingbourn house didn’t sell quickly"

“We moved everything out of the house in Highgate and moved it up to Royston. “I didn’t move my stuff in straight away. “Jamie and Oliver both chose their bedrooms, we effectively moved in from that day on and never went back to Bassingbourn. “This was July 2013. “We left my house for a while, that was an error there, I made a mistake. “The Royston house was in a very old state. The decor was nowhere near our taste. “I brought my stuff from Bassingbourn over about six or seven months. “Every visit there was a nightmare, I kept going back and finding things of Diane’s, it was very sad. “The Bassingbourn house didn’t sell quickly, I sold it for £520,000 after selling expenses. “I gave Helen £470,000, Helen wanted me to keep £50,000 and described it as ‘play money’ to spend.”

I'm struggling to believe she wore his late wife's ring. What would his sons think to that?

"Sometimes Helen was worried our relationship was going too fast"

“Sometimes Helen was worried our relationship was going too fast. In the summer of 2012 we were seeing each other almost constantly. “In April she saw Diane’s jewellery box and asked if she could look at it. She picked up an eternity ring I got Diane in Greece. “That was a special ring for Diane. Helen said ‘would I mind if she put it on? So she did, she really liked it’. “I said would you like it? Maybe some people wouldn’t understand that. She said yes. “A few weeks later I decided I wanted Helen to marry me. We took her to a place with seven springs in Ashwell for a walk with the dog, on bended knee I asked if she would marry me, she said instantly yes, but she said she couldn’t get married yet and everything needed to feel right. “I gave her Diane’s eternity ring, which I had cleaned and engraved. It was two rings, and the diamond was between the two bands. “I’d had engraved on one band ‘BB’ and on another band ‘LB’ - as in Broad Bean and Live Bean.” Stewart breaks down in the witness stand as he said: “It was a way of continuing the love from Diane on to Helen. Helen never told anyone that I don’t think, because most people wouldn’t understand that. “There were no dates considered yet, the wedding was something that would happen in the future when she was ready.”

BIB -

“She wanted this house to be hers"

“This was going to be Helen’s house in many ways. John purchased the Highgate house and Helen saw that very much as his house. “She wanted this house to be hers. She went on a design course in Cambridge to refresh her mind. “She used a woman there to help us design things for the house. It [the house] was Helen’s project in many ways. “By April of last year, the redecoration work hadn’t been completely completed. “Most of the downstairs was done, apart from the conservatory. “We realised it was going to take the whole of 2016 to design the conservatory with the interior designer. “The spare bedroom also hadn’t been finished - Helen was going to take the spare bedroom, it was going to be her little project as a surprise for me.”

The house had to be made ‘Boris proof’

“The budget we wanted to stick to was £4,000. The house had to be made ‘Boris proof’. The previous owner had dogs but they had labradors. “Boris was little and would go in any little hole. So we had to get fencing, so he could go in the garden and not get out. “We had to Boris proof the pool as well. The pool cover moves on tracks and is completely sealed in. “You could drive a Rolls Royce on it. “This was done before my house was sold, so Helen funded all of that.”

"There was nothing for us to be jealous about".

“We were very happy, we had a wonderful lifestyle in many ways. “There were no issues or disputes between us, I can categorically say not. “After six months, Helen said ‘this isn’t a proper relationship, we haven’t had an argument. “She said ‘I’m scared if we do have an argument what would happen?’ Then she said it would be fun to make up. “We had differing views but that’s it. There was nothing for us to be jealous about.”

Having known Helen there is NO WAY she would have done that! She was too respectful and classy.

Nor I. Not in a million years. I don't even think anyone who was crashing would do that, and Helen was not crashing, she was sensitive and empathetic.

I've been thinking about this unclaimed money. It appears to be trying to imply that he didn't claim it because he didn't need the money or was in no urgency for money. My theory is one of 3 things.
A, he did not know about this money and it's only come up now during investigations.
B, the money is for the sons
and nothing to do with him
C, he's a total idiot and needs to go to jail immediately

Who on this planet would not claim 40k that was sitting somewhere belonging to you? NO ONE. Not even a very rich person

I can only assume that it was held in trust for the two boys until they attained their majority. Diane died 5 years ago, so Oliver would still have been a minor as he's only 21 now. We know Jamie is older but I'm unaware of his age. That begs the question, did Diane not leave anything to IS, and if not, why.

The Coroner made a finding IIRC but that doesn't necessarily mean there was an inquest. As she was cremated, it's possible that no organs/samples were retained.

"It was hard work and a hard time when she was writing that book"

“We both enjoyed cooking, Helen loved to do a meal for the family and loved it if we had a regular family meal on the Sunday. “Sometimes Helen cooked, sometimes I cooked, and sometimes we did it together. “In the evening we always had a meal together, cooked by Helen more than me. “Lunch varied, when we first moved in we had lunch together, something quite small. “I didn’t always want lunch so sometimes Helen would do it just for herself. “When she was writing her book it changed totally, she sometimes worked through, didn’t have any lunch or ate at her desk in her study. “It was hard work and a hard time when she was writing that book. “Breakfast varied, before my operation 80% of the time I would cook breakfast for her. “She loved scrambled eggs in the morning, I would make them, or she would make herself poached eggs. “After the operation I did no breakfast cooking at all. I’d wake up much later than Helen and just have a piece of toast”.

"Did you poison Helen?"

Defence barrister Simon Russell Flint asks Stewart: “It was suggested by the prosecution that Helen had been someway poisoned by the secret or hidden administration of zopiclone. “Did you do that at any stage?” Stewart answers: “No. I’d been diagnosed with what was thought to be cancer. They were 95% sure it was. “I went to get zopiclone because I wasn’t sleeping, and Helen wasn’t either. “I can remember asking for the pills in January 2016, I just wanted something to sleep.”
