I bet he hated Boris.

IS hated everything that shifted Helen's interest away from himself. I don't get the feeling that he had any regard for all that Helen loved: her gifts in writing, her compassion towards others, love of aesthetics, 'quiet' time of reflection, loved of Artisan cheese - liking of beautiful jewellery - her love of London. He disregarded everything, trampling on any of her choices whilst maintaining his OWN.

I don't know whether he likes or dislikes dogs - but I certainly believe he would be jealous of Boris, because Boris was part of Helen and JS's life - and Helen adored her baby dog. Boris and Helen spent deep companionship together - and Boris was a reason for Helen to get up in the morning during her treacherous grief of John S.

That would be 'all too much' for this narcissist's genuine tolerance of Boris. And he wouldn't be able to begin to understand the love Helen had for her precious Dachshund.

If HE understands love at all.

Trimmer: “You put about the idea you couldn’t reach up and get something.”
Stewart: “Yes”
Trimmer: “Were you in pain at the recycling depot?”
Stewart: “Yes, to some extent. I remember going up the steps and being slightly.”
Trimmer: “Helen cared about you like nobody else. You were her centre, her world.”
Stewart: “With Boris, yes.”
Trimmer: “And yet Helen put all this stuff in your car to take to the tip, with your surgery, with your pain?”
Stewart: “Yes”
Trimmer: “Really?”
Stewart: “Yes.”

I really like this part :D

He has to get in that he had to share Helen's love with Boris.

Thank you for this reminder, Tortoise. Yes .. Trimmer is brilliant in psychology - and got the gentle trap out, which IS is not able to comprehend - so he falls into it neatly.
IS had a 'double-trap' here and fell into both. Helen wouldn't ask him to cart stuff to the tip, when he can't reach for a tray from the cupboard.
AND - lovely underline to IS's life story of his ailments. (not suggesting in any way that illness is not a desperate plight - but just referring this to IS)

for Helen and Boris

Every little sound from a dog is in relation to 'thee' - their beloved, their anchor, their trustee.

Thank you Net E - sometimes we just write our feelings because we are all so anguished - and do not know whether they have any use at all x

I usually get into trouble when I do that :D

I think one of the last bit of prosecution evidence was their efforts to establish if Nick and Joe were real. Several witnesses were asked about them too, the business partners of John Sinfield, IS' sons, the financial adviser, Helen's mum I think?

Of course, Squamous - the hideous one snooped through JS's diaries (I believe after Helen and Boris were no longer alive) and he grovelled around into what he may find in their precious marriage together. And HAPPENED upon two of JS's mentioned names - and JS would NOT have spelled it out in his diary - but the devious one grabbed it .. to run with it .. and not only murder Helen but abuse JS's honesty, in inferring that he had a dark past, whilst covering up his own .. sorry I can't find the word now to describe what is his own.
It is too DARK and evil.

I covered the John Tanner (Rachel McLean murder) case. When he did the press conference/appeal the entire room suddenly realised, as one, that he'd killed her. It was the most horrific feeling. For a long time after we called the crocodile tears appeal "doing a John Tanner".

I just watched the ITV dramatization on YouTube. Quite chilling. But isn't it alarming that a) the jury only found him guilty by 10-2 (one fewer and he'd have walked), and b) he served just 12 years.

I don't think he even realised he needed a different cover story until the prosecution made their case discovery to the defence. I think he picked two random common names and lucked out that there was a Jo and or Joe in JS's paperwork.

Yes, it's awful. Poor JS. I'd be interested to know if the reporting was accurate in him always referring to JS as "John Sinfield" rather than just John, as you'd expect. That struck me as very cold and indicative of his feelings but may also be just the reports adding clarity.

Both very worrying I agree.

Probably because Helen's brother is also John. I wouldn't read anything into that.

I would like us - our Web team to think about this.
Many others who knew Helen would no doubt wish to do something in her memory of their choice.
But I suggest we have a 'fundraising' as our gift to the memory from us.
We are all suffering deeply whilst sleuthing for Justice -and it would be good to honour our love and commitment towards this justice - and indeed our huge regard for Helen and Boris.
I feel - we could do it in many ways .. to give a Widow some support? or a Widower? or a Creative writing course in Helen's name - OR the one I love most is to have a Sculpting of Boris to give to John Bailey in the memory of his Sister.
How do you feel?

I've done that myself this week, Milenalee. I like that idea.

I think it contravenes the rules here joely.

Sorry I don't wish to embarrass you by saying that, I know it is a heartfelt and generous suggestion.

They had a fundraising page for one of the moderators recently.
May be still going as far as I know, I can never find anything on here.

Yes, absolutely. BUT he - in his devious mind, in the way he read all of Helen's writings - found 'triggers' to help his own 'career' - and there happened to be in JS's diaries mention of Jo (Joe) and Nick - and his crazy, horrible mind spun around.
I am particularly angry Net - that he would dive into JS's diaries - another sacred collection of Helen's.
He has no possible idea of respect - and his limitations are bloody 'wild fire'. I loathe him so much tonight, and I do NOT spend any time ever now loathing in this way, like I did as a teenager.

Welcome bleu boy ! This is fab forum. :drumroll:

First we lurk and read, and the wonderful Websleuths are everything we need in a heartbreaking plight of Helen - and then we are 'welcome' and then we find a voice ..I don't ever, ever expect to be a Sleuth as brilliant as Alyce and Tortoise, the names are endless - but I am thankful to be allowed a voice within their serious work in sleuthing.
Welcome bleu boy - and it is lovely that everyone has a 'welcome' and each voice is important.
