So that he won't have any grounds for appeal :giggle:

Yes Cherwell. I think that`s the point - oh - and they can afford to be "generous"!

Usually forgiving someone has nothing to do with what the other person does to atone or show remorse for what they have done. It might trigger your decision to forgive but it is not necessary. forgiveness is about letting go of your emotional attachments and responses to the event and your stories and interpretation of what happened. If you waited for remorse you'd never be able to forgive parents after they were dead.

Yes but my understanding is that that is not forgiveness. It is "coming to terms with" in the way that you describe xx

Just wondering what kind of half-way promising line might have been possible ...
<< Look, if I'd really wanted to get shot of her ... i mean, you know, carry out a murder of her ... d'you really think that I would've disposed of the body in a tank here in the grounds of my ... sorry, i mean our ... house? I mean, c'mon: do you think i'm as stupid as I look? >>

[Counsel: "er, Ian, maybe better to stop half a dozen words before you did"]

.. or of course to convince a couple of them that there's a chance that he's innocent.

And THAT final sentence is what scares the pants off me!

If we are going to be pessimistic, majority verdicts of 10-2 can be accepted, although 11-1 is more usual.

There is still a full complement of 12, isn't there? despite those early hiccups.

48 - 0

At the last count. Dolly and Michelle which way are you voting lol?

What an idiot - I think I`m losing the plot! I see that number 35 has already been taken so I`ll settle for number 49 instead please. (That`s probably a seat in the toilet for me tomorrow

Tortoise, trust me - they are not under his spell.

I do wonder if their attendance at court has to do with needing to process their denial though, and that the truth about him would not be fully absorbed for years, even if they wanted it to be, and even if they think they already have managed it.

It must be exceedingly complex for them to accept.Things like was this real when he did this or that when I was a child, etc, their trust in everyone not just him will be shattered.

Jeez I`ve just seen this - it`s probably gone up to 507 now and that`s my unlucky number. I don`t think you did this in a fair way

Did anyone contact Tara to find out if she is going to continue the coverage during summing up?

Lol Duchy - why aren`t you fast asleep?? It`s a poll to see how many of us think IS is guilty/not guilty. Results so far:
Think he`s guilty - 0
Think he`s not guilty - 507

P.S. Bet your sorry you started this Tortoise.

The Snow Drop Mug that I ordered, has arrived on Tuesday afternoon.
I still haven't unpacked the box, out of fear that I will either DROP the mug, or blow it OFF the table with one big sneeze. :fainted:

:flu:

I will first create a Safe Space for this special Mug. (My dogs know how to open cupboards)

Am I allowed to put a teabag in the mug and pour boiling water? Or is this the ultimate horror because the British still insist on making tea in a genuine teapot with free floating leaves?
