I've whizzed through (and now have to go to a funeral) so can't find it again but I liked the idea that Jamie and Oliver would be likely to report a missing pillowcase. Young men, with their well-known interest in running a household owned by parents (disregard ownership issues in the case, the principle remains)? Even I wouldn't be likely to notice a missing pillowcase.
Just a tiny bit of the stupidity of this defence.

That was one little bit of hilarity in all the nonsense .......yep, am quite sure they would be concerned and notice a pillow case missing !

Done:

@TaraCoxCN The Law Pages say Judge Bright has to attend to another case at 2pm - has he juggled his diary so he can sum up? #helenbailey

Oh what a tangled web we weave

Where was Jamie and Oliver living during the period that they are suggesting that Joe & Nick returned to the house to put Helen & Boris in the cesspit?

I think they were living at the house until their father was arrested. He was bailed to a hotel until he was charged. As far as I know J&O were also initially at a hotel, but don't know where they went subsequently.

BIB
Can't answer your whole question, IB, but I am absolutely sure the judge will not be bamboozled. He used to do this sort of thing himself, remember, he's been around, as well as being trained to cut through the smokescreen on the jury's behalf.

Sorry I misled you there by my poor phrasing. I was referring to the judge in the OP case being bamboozled and didn't make it clear that I thought the jury here might be bamboozled by SRF, not the judge. I did say I thought the Judge, like us, thinks IS is guilty.

As annoying as this defence tale is... I keep thinking back to the moment that Nick & Joe (not Joe & Nick) were ushered into the courtroom before being swiftly ushered out again, point well and truly made.

Blah blah blah
Thought I'd timed it perfectly to get here for 1 pm as per timings advised yesterday!
However defence still on a roooooll (hasn't noticed most of jury have dosed off) and now broken for lunch. Spoke to Mr T (want to claim for petrol refund lol). He said if time permitting Judge may have half an hour to start him summing up. I'm going home because I arranged all my afternoon schedule from 3 o'clock (near where I live so have to leave 2.30 latest) as I went by yesterday's given timings.
I think Mr Flint got a "please try harder" in his last year's report because he is very trying indeed lol

I was thinking of your plans to be in court for this afternoon to hear Judge's summing up, and very conscious how disappointed you would be that Mr F is still desperately blathering on (think he gets paid by the word!)

Home, feet up, tea and relax ready for Monday now. x

Eh ? where did he get the savagely from ? he has been at pains to tell us nobody knows how Helen was killed, no marks etc ? that she was possibly not even murdered
Good pick up.

My blood is boiling!

yes indeed Cherwell, I'm just on that page and he's under Trimmer here:
“None of that he now tells you is true.
“The Crown say he is hiding behind his legal advice.”
"He ought to have said: ' I'm going to get those people. I don't care what they'll do to me'."
“He would have still run with lie number one, but he is released on bail until July 12.
“He can’t live in the house anymore because searches go on until July 15.
“He has to stay in a hotel, along with his two sons.

“On July 15, police find Helen’s body, the dog’s body and the other things in the cesspit, and Stewart is arrested again.
“His sons are nearby, he knows where they are.

U forgot the words from that George Michael song ..." and I think you're amazing ba da da dadaaa" btw...

Seriously she's possibly eating lunch or setting up a future interview after conviction. ( Would be a waste if Tara doesn't get some follow-up assignments on this case as she has best handle on factsand so deserves to. )

Whatever happens, greedy IS will have been bankrupted by his barrister's fees and I assume, in the worst case scenario, Helen's trustee will ensure IS does not get any of Helen's money.

  • #294
Can I repeat this question?

I think IS handily pointed out that he remembered them leaving just before the kidnappers returned wanting the keys to the jeep and garage

ETA I cant find that so maybe it was another day

Flint is a filibusterer.

  • #296
Filibusting is spot on. This is so frustrating!

I was going to say it's because you didn't compliment her! haha! ;)

But in seriousness, I also think she's probably having lunch.
