UK - Holly Wells, 10, & Jessica Chapman, 10, murdered, Soham, 4 Aug 2002

Asphyxia?? Didn't think of that.

This has raised all sorts of questions in my mind now as to how he did it. How on earth would he asphyxiate one and keep the other one detained and quiet??? There were no drugs in their systems, so the girls hadn't been doped or anything.

Obviously the police believe he did it on his own. I just don't understand HOW.

Thanks for all the links guys!!

Hi Aussie... I have to agree it is very odd.

I have a 10 year old daughter and sometimes we play fight and I try to tickle her ... he is a little tiger, all over the place and impossible to hold still... and we are only playing.

I don't know how this guy managed to murder both girls unless they were restrained somehow :(

Cass...

Its not too hard to intimidate them into being quiet long enough to be tied and gagged.

Apparently he had invited them in since one of them had a nosebleed. I don't know if thats what happened or not, but that is the claim.

It seems that during the investigation his girl friend repeatedly gave police a series of very detailed but greatly fabricated statements.

How do you restrain one, and stop the other from fleeing or screaming???

This has really got me puzzled.

I just don't get it.

Huntley said one of the girls had a nosebleed. He took her to the bathroom upstairs, and the other girl also went upstairs and sat on the end of Huntley and Carr's double bed.

Huh?? What innocent male would invite or allow a young girl to sit on his bed???!!!

Also, Police noticed that the bath was cracked. How it was cracked will be something that will be asked later in the trial.

I feel so sick when I think about what those girls might have been through with Huntley.

Thanks for all the links mushy!!

Is there a link for a timeline?

I'm interested to know what time the girls went past Huntley's house, and how long after they think he dumped them. He was already changing his car tyres by that evening wasn't he??

Aussie

thanks mushy!

Did you see the BBC article about how Huntley comforted Holly's father after the girls went missing?

What a sick creep. I still think Huntley and Carr are both a card short of the pack.

Judge will conclude summing up today, jury is expected to retire lunchtime. I was talking to a Police friend of mine yesterday who reckons that if the jury actually went on evidence alone Huntley would get manslaughter and Carr would be cleared !!! Luckily as he said the jury will probably return guilty on both, though Carr may be lucky, I just hope it's over soon and they go away for a long time.
