Union Square is the main shopping centre, bus station and train station all rolled into one, it's so busy that it is easy to not be noticed.

there must be a lead behind the scenes......usually its the other way round, teenagers leaving small towns to go to the city.

It's six days now since 16-year-old Liam Smith from Aberdeen disappeared. His mum Alix has released this statement saying his family is "clinging to hope."

It's been another wet, cold night :( I hope against hope he is warm and safe.
I know people in Banchory and they are going to every single house to do enquiries, there is a huge police presence.

New images of missing Aberdeen 16-year-old Liam Smith have been released by @NorthEPolice - taken at Union Square shopping centre on Saturday afternoon before he boarded a bus. It's understood he bought a ticket for Banchory where police have been searching today.

His height would make him more noticeable, at least to me. 6'4" is quite tall.

His legs look long as well.

Perhaps because of his height he sat in an aisle seat on the bus because of the length of his legs and someone may have noticed this.

I'm still hoping that more tips come in.

Where is Liam?

Dear JerricaBenton,

Thank you for letting us know that there is a such a large police presence. It's so good to hear that they are going door to door.

The information you are providing about the area is greatly appreciated!

This all sounds so puzzling to me. Sounds as if his family does not know why he would go to that area.

I know this situation doesn't look good but I still have hope for a good ending. I know we all feel this way.

Sounds like the police are conducting thorough searches to find Liam.

It's worrying that he hasn't been found yet. I've been following this in the news, it grabbed my interest because I work for a firm with a head office in Aberdeen, so I've travelled there a few time and I recognise most of the place names I've seen mentioned.

I ways think of Andrew Gosden when a teenage boy goes missing. Hope Liam will be brought home safe very soon.

Police divers have joined the search for teenager Liam Smith almost a week after his disappearance.

Land searches are also planned in the Crathes area towards Aberdeen.

Officers are keen to speak to two passengers who got on the 202 Stagecoach bus at Holburn Street last Saturday afternoon to establish if they recall seeing Liam.

He boarded the vehicle before it left Aberdeen bus station at 1.11pm.

Not having his mobile phone with him is not a good sign imo.

Teenagers don't go anywhere without their phones.

Sorry, can’t see if this has been mentioned upthread, but what are the timings involved? And has there been any indication of what Liam’s plans were that day?
