Teenagers upgrade phones fairly regularly
Maybe he had a back up phone which he has with him?
i dont see the issue with him going to the bus station? what do you mean there?6ft 4 isn't unusual for a 16 year old at all. i work with plenty and have one of my own at home!
police will have plenty of info....whats in backpack, whats on the phone etc. fact that they are doing door to door and visiting the bus station is making me more worried for him
I've just found out about Liam from a shared post on facebook and from what I've now read on this thread I don't have a good feeling unfortunately. As other posters have already pointed out it's almost unheard of for a teenager to knowingly go anywhere without their phone.
Unless someone is hiding Liam which doesn't seem feasible I think he has chosen to go off and probably not for a good reason. Am I right that there is a lot of woodland in the areas the police think he might have gone to? Imo possibly where the search efforts should be concentrated
I hope there is positive news soon
I am hoping that the forest searches are done soon - there is an area called fetteresso forest and cowie water that are along the slug road - which is just at where he got off the bus and across road from crathes castle.
we do not know why he did not have his phone. we do not know what suspicions anyone would have had.
there is a lot of forest area - its not massive vast that it would take weeks to search but it would need to be meticulous in case he met something and there is also a crime scene to investigate.
IMO if you are meeting someone you would take your phone incase the other person is running late or cancels on you. The only reason I can think of for not having it would be if your were in such a rush as you were running late and honestly forgot it.
Perhaps he planned on running away or causing harm to himself in some way. However usually a teen would leave some form of note or communication that would be their intention and there may be warning signs with friends and family. Given they are saying it is so out of character it may not be a harm to self situation.
What type of football game was going on there? Was it a big event?
IMO it would be quite a coincidence to forget your phone on the day that soemthing bad happens to you, unless Liam's a teen who isn't constantly attached to his phone, it might not be unusual, has this been mentioned in any of the information releaesed so far?
I know from other cases I've followed on here that searching woodland is very difficult and it can be very easy to miss someone even in a small area, I'm sure the police will know that and do it thoroughly
One I remember is the case of the American lady in Scotland she was found a long time after she went missing. Whilst people were walking passed where she was for months.
Susan McLean was her name.
Remains confirmed as missing tourist
Susan McLean's case is the most amazing thread on here in my opinion, I urge you all to read the whole thing from start to finish when you have an hour or two spare. It's a very unusual case in terms of the physical dedication shown by Websleuths members and will restore your faith in humanity after some of the horror we read on this site.
Found Deceased - UK - Susan McLean, 61, U.S. tourist, Aberfeldy, Scotland, 17 May 2015
