Another, final, 24 hour extension has been granted by Humberside Police, as per their official Twitter account.

Surely with each extension, they have to give more and more relevant evidence to justify it, right? I feel like big news is about to break in this case

Cigarette end evidence? Maybe?

It bugs me that there’s so many cases like Libby’s where it is revealed the missing person has mental health issues and a general consensus forms that they’ve disappeared of their own accord. I wish they were restricted from releasing such information unless there’s evidence the person had made threats to harm themselves. It really causes an investigation to be slow to start. It also worries me that if I was a missing young woman like Libby that they’d write me off as a suicide due to the medications I take and past life experiences. Scars do not mean someone wants to disappear, so many people suffer with anxiety and depression that it shouldn’t be considered a huge red flag straight away. I’ve been on a high dose of antidepressants for 9 years, I’ve said I don’t want to live anymore several times but right now I am not depressed and if I disappeared tonight then it wouldn’t be of my own accord. -Jmo after the mentions of self harm.

Police did not release any health info, did they?

Brace yourselves... markers does NOT sound good. Markers mean things have been found, right?

Breaking....police have gone for the final extension...can someone link it, I can’t at the mo....

Ah ignore me, Ched has it covered

So @Alyce - if they've gone for the final 24 does that still mean they can "break" it then continue on at any time? Or is that it now, it's 24 hours or bust?

He's told them about something that happened on the bench?

They can still break it by releasing him and recalling him at a later date..but somehow I don’t think they will....
I’m expecting them to either use the full 24 and then charge him, or for the charge to be made some time tomorrow afternoon

You'd think any evidence would be gone by now with the weather as it has been

The bench seems to remain the main focus.

Updates on ninth day of search for missing Libby Squire

I had to Google it earlier and it said:

"Noun. tenfoot (plural tenfoots) (Britain, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Hull) A ten-foot-wide alleyway, usually behind one's house."

I'm born and raised in Yorkshire and never heard "tenfoot" in my whole life. Neither has my partner and he's 10 years older than me. I'd probably just call it an alley or backstreet.

I’m Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire and have always called them tenfoots, although known them as alleys or alleyway

Yes. Markers only used on crime scenes, not for unconfirmed evidence/ general findings

Where is the bench info coming from?

  • #1,238
Crime Scene Investigation is a new one as well, from what I recall we've not seen them take part in the searches up until now.

Correct me if I'm wrong but is this the first time they've remained at the playing fields after dark?
