Just zeroing in on this

The video is easily enough if he did not have a convincing explanation for what happened next, especially as he did not come forward.
do you think the video was clear enough to determine that it was him, his car, etc.?

Can anyone find a MSM media link (think it was daily mail ) about the balaclava man and fake taxi please ? I’d like to read it again , I think it was on the same night Libby vanishes thanks

Not if an extended sexual assault was taking place.

Wouldn’t they be more likely to mix the screams with other sounds/ shouts of no/ help etc? I don’t know, maybe when sheer terror kicks in it’s possible to just revert to screaming?

Libby Squire latest as search for Hull student enters 14th day

That is just outside the park. Surprised that hadn't already been searched.

Doesn't the fact that he parked in that spot suggest whatever happened next wasn't premeditated? He must have considered that there might be CCTV on a business premises, and he sat bang opposite where it would be.

Going back to the bench in the park, and the evidence markers that were placed around there in a fairly short space of time (I think CSI were there 90 mins). Why on earth would they have done that? Is it possible PR told them something happened there? (I'm sure we've discussed this but just revisiting!)

For all we know he could have had a row with the wife, gone off for a drive to let off steam and the evening unfolded from there...

Not trying to be confrontative...just speculation. I found the video to be very poor quality and not conclusive - not that they don't have more video that provides more concrete evidence/info

Some great points, Steve.

Quick question though - has there actually been a vehicle reported at the park?

And I'm not yet totally convinced about the vixen. Your theory suggests that Libby may have been taken to the park and sexually assaulted. Pretty coincidental that the screaming was heard at the same time. Would be interesting to know if the witness has been played fox screams to see if he could have confused the two. I hear them all the time (and yes, the first time I thought something awful was happening) but I wouldn't get them mixed up with human screams now.

All that said, I still can't rule out the scream/bang scenario either. The back of Libby's house has a wooden gate. Her house backs onto Heathcote. I think it's quite possible she explained to PR she was locked out and he offered to help her get in via the back of the house. Once in that back alley he saw an opportunity and grabbed her - scream / bang. And then went to the park. The timings seem slightly off (but aren't concrete) but I do wonder if both scream incidents might be valid.

I'm not sure if the vehicle is confirmed but some on here were speculating that there was. It's just that we are missing the minor details like I said why she was described as distressed which could play a major part.

It's coincidental regarding the vixen yeah, but I guess they would be doing it around that time. If you were played a vixen scream now while focusing on it, you might be able to tell, if you had just woke up or are focusing on something, a little less. I suspect the person who heard them over and over assumed the first one was a human scream so started to believe every one after was.

It's not so much the screams though, it's the part that any attacker would not allow screams to continue for that length of time unless they are the most incompetent killer of all time and as no real evidence has been found yet, I don't believe they are that incompetent.

She's drunk for sure but not paralytic which is why I am very uncertain about other things like asking a stranger to try and get in your your house around the back and in the dark. Sure alcohol makes you do silly and dangerous things but that seems really risky.

Still, if his sister is to be believed and I see no reason why she would make it up, the other huge details missing is if he rejected her when she supposedly came onto him, what happened next? Did she leave the car? We just have very little to go on.

If I heard that i would think animal noise for sure. I have heard cats before and thought it was a crying baby.

The repeat clicking might suggest he's nervous, rather than operating on automatic pilot.

I'd love to know if something was put into the boot.

Possibly looking for keys?

Actually after she got out of the taxi near her house and was described as stumbling around the floor she could,d have been searching the ground for them. It's just another vital detail that hasn't been released but I suspect if that was the case they would probably have been found.

This entire search seems like it’s fizzling out more and more by the day. Hardly any searches are being conducted now. Yes there’s a few police officers searching bushes and overgrown hedges but really? There’s hardly anything happening and I am almost convinced this case is going to be shoved under the carpet and will be a repeat of the Claudia Lawrence case almost 10 years ago. I don’t believe PR knows Libby’s whereabouts nor did he kill her. They really do not have anything solid on him at all in regards to the LB disappearance and unfortunately it does seem like the most likely scenario is that Libby has fallen to her death and is in the water.

I feel the same as you.

Have the family started a Find Libby facebook page or have they been advised not to? If not, they really should start one in my opinion.

The police need to reveal more information to the general public that’s what I feel. And if they don’t have any info to provide then I’m afraid it’s a really really devastating state of affairs.
Eventually, when time has really run out and they have really exhausted all leads and have no more funding/resources for searches, etc., I believe they will release more information because the public will be their last resource. Especially if PR is eventually released on bail (on March 11th...next court date). Do we know the typical sentence for what he has currently been charged with? They certainly have enough evidence to convict on those counts.

Few thoughts.

Re: the letter given to residents in Raglan street. It’s interesting that they specify did you see or hear anything “unusual” overnight. From what I can gage, that street is a mix of families, students, NHS workers and a whole lot of rental accommodation. Things like cars coming and going at all hours, noise in the street etc will be standard. So, to me, the police suspect that something happened during the night which would stand out as NOT usual. What?

The Park Search: whatever the police are looking for, it’s something they think will have withstood the freezing elements, storm, rain etc. A number plate comes to mind. Do they see a car which they believe to be P’s enter and leave the park but the number plates are different upon entry and exit?

I’m probably way off here but the police are definitely searching for something specific besides Libby herself, probably based on CCTV footage and movements/ appearance/ occupants of a car they have seen enter and exit.

Not if an extended sexual assault was taking place.

An extended sexual assault in a built up area with the victim screaming does not really happen. In a secluded area in the middle of nowhere or in a building, yes. No rapist or murderer is that stupid to assault someone over a period of 15 minuets while they scream with houses and public around imo.

The only brazen attacks like that I can recall is something like Sally Anne Bowman pretty much on the drive of her house but she was stabbed and almost dead, if not dead when the sexual assault happened.

I never saw that on an MSM article - could be wrong though. Can’t find it either.

-The initial taxi driver from Welly; how he explained how Libby was, coherent, mood, actions etc.
-"Distressed" sitting on the bench. In what context? People are used to seeing drunk students and others around there, most vehicles would not stop over a girl just sitting on a bench. Can falling over on the bench be described as distressed or simply drunk? There is no explanation as to exactly what is meant by her actions being "distressed"
I believe the most simplistic version is either she lost her keys and went to wait in a safer area on the bench or she possibly went to get some food at a takeaway as most drunk people do and it's likely after Welly her and her friends get a takeaway. Then she stumbled to the bench and felt drunk so decided to sit down for 5 minutes first.
She obviously was in a terrible state : Student Tom Tully saw her as the taxi dropped her home and describes her falling over a couple of times. And too drunk to be on her own.
Libby Squire - Cops recover lipgloss, hammer and screwdriver as mum says student, 21, DID make it home before vanishing
When the driver who stopped to ask her if she needed help it is reported that she had falled of the bench and was sitting or lying in the snow , obviously she looked visibly in distress and need of help , bad enough that a passing motorist would stop.
The most simplistic version is that she was completely out of it on alcohol and not thinking or behaving rationally , completely vulnerable.
The tragedy is that she refused more than one offer of help from well meaning people but seems to have gone with PR , presumably quasi willingly, altho in her condition she wasnt in a fit state to make good decisions..

Perhaps not, but it's a sure bet wherever he drove next will have been picked up on CCTV retrieved by the police from council and/or private cameras. They've probably seen his registration plate somewhere. Worth remembering all this footage so far has been leaked by the media, none of them were sanctioned by the police. Plus he'd already confided in his sister, either directly or via his wife, that he picked her up.
