I’ve been watching for further arrests as I do ‘t believe he was alone but then surely his accomplice would have shown up on cctv with him in that area. But there’s been no appeals for help identifying anyone else

Same here, really thought there would have been another arrest made. If it was a stabbing and body found soon after I would definitely go for random attack. But with it taking so long before body was found and being only 16 I would assume this lad doesn't stay by himself. IMO someone else was involved or someone else at least knew what the accused had done.

If this is centred around the pub, that makes it look likely that LB was attacked within a minute of leaving her house. Plus she was walking on a busy road in the day. If this is random attack, he must have acted very quickly and why on such a busy road?

It is odd on a main road but I suppose it depends what lane she turned up and how far she got along it

The LE had been great in getting the cctv of Lindsay and the suspect out straight away. I just wish they had put the cctv of the potential witness up sooner.

It was 8 or 9 days after her disappearance, I would have trouble remembering who was walking in front of me or were they turned off after a couple of days but I would have no chance remembering 9 days later, unless there was something unusual about them.

Sadly I doubt it would have made any difference to the outcome but it may have given them better leads, evidence etc

The teacher was last seen wearing a purple Rab bubble jacket, black leggings, a white shirt with blue pin stripes and black trainers with a white sole.

Her Huawei phone is also still missing.

That quote is from before her body was found, it’s virtually word for word for the other posted.

I don’t believe they have ever specifically said that any of her clothing is missing

It’s easy to see how though, with them using the term “also missing”, people think clothing is missing....it’s a little misleading

Something came from twitter rock fm on 3rd sept stating they were still trying to locate missing items and a 2nd postmortem has been requested

Lindsay was a 47 year old woman, not an obvious person to develop an obsession or attraction to really. would a 16 year old really be attracted to this quite conservative looking lady? more likely, given his background, he would be more interested in glammed up younger girls, but then i could be wrong....

my theory......well i think her death and treatment post mortem was violent and intense. i feel she was targeted as he was angry and frustrated and he took that all out on her. she maybe confronted him and left him feeling inferior, or caught him (as previously alluded to) and he didn't like having to explain himself. If there are body parts missing or the body was indeed just an 'object' when discovered, then i feel anger motivated this attack,i don't think sexual at all. i think she represented something that made him feel inferior....anyone think similar?

Predators, especially opportunistic ones, can having varying victim preferences. Some can attack both younger and older victims.

Also, there are various cases including older women and even senior citizens where SA was present. The victim being older does not necessarily negate the possibility of a sexual assault, unfortunately.

no Of course. But that’s just my thoughts on this case. Unfortunately I doubt we will know much more for the time being. I do feel there’s at least one person out there with a good idea of what happened though

I’m swayed towards completely random attack.

LE haven’t appealed for any more people, no any more information since the arrest, I think they are pretty confident he acted alone. MMO

The CCTV of Lindsay isn’t nice to see now, knowing likely mere seconds after, she’s attacked.

So what are the prevailing theories?

1. Random attack by total stranger.
2. Targeted attack by someone watching/stalking Lindsay specifically.
3. Lindsay attacked after stumbling upon a different crime?

Other ideas...?

I would go with 3 but not necessarily involving scrap metal.

I wish we knew something about what the 16 y/o was like before he (allegedly) committed this murder. Knowing his history might help explain what drove him to do this.

I nor anyone in my circle of friends know him so can’t say on that.

I don’t think it helps a lot either with some of the terms LE have used imo

Calling the body an object....could that have meant it’s was wrapped and they were unable to verify a body, but they had a good idea and considering there was a missing woman they err’d on caution and forensically tested it before taking off what ever it was wrapped in.

Concealed...shallow grave, under undergrowth or the fact it may have been wrapped?

I think the body was still intact, based purely on no charges were made for dismembering it.

Compression of the neck...did he strangle her?

Lindsay was 5 11. Not your average height for a woman around here, I wonder how tall he is.

If he is a lot smaller than her he wouldn’t he have the disadvantage? He would have had to knock her off her feet

Given his background I would have thought he could “ handle himself “ in a violent confrontational situation therefore overpowering her would be easier....plus he had the advantage he knew what he wanted to do , she probably didn’t . MOO

Can’t really say if it’s Lindsay’s jacket or not but the video is very eery indeed.
