The 16-year old boy appeared via video link as both of his parents and several members of Lindsay Birbeck's family sat in the gallery.

The court heard the charges against the youth regarding the death and disposal of Miss birkbeck's body, which was found in Accrington cemetery, and he'll appear at Preston crown Court again on the 13th of December.

Now, the judge was told that a number of Lindsay bird sightings still haven't been recovered and that a second post mortem of her body has been requested by the defence.

Is it common for the defence to ask for a second post mortem, does that happen a lot ? Thanks

It is not a second post mortem for the police, although in some cases the first pathologist and SIO may be present at the second post mortem and therefore broadly aware of the likely conclusions.”

I just hope that Lindsay's family are allowed to have a funeral and don't have to endure the same agony of waiting as poor Libby Squire's did

Then they report his full name themselves.

DCI Davies reiterated his belief that the 47-year-old had entered The Coppice.
He also said that Lindsay was described 'almost immediately as a high risk missing person'.

I've been wondering about that, too. Maybe police were immediately convinced she'd gone for a walk in the coppice and was injured there and needing help? IMO

I think because it was out of character for her to be missing and she missed an appointment with her daughter. For these reasons it was likely she met foul play and so this was a high priority missing case

True, but that happens to thousands of people every year. The police barely pay attention unless something extraordinary is afoot.

sigh. It would be helpful to know WHAT looked "a little bit off". Of course, now we know what was off, but that first day? She was just missing like so many other people. IMO

I'm not sure that it is correct to say 'as a mother I could imagine the only reason for this is....', surely we are all different and behave differently under severe stress, even us mothers?

This was MOO as a mother myself I could only imagine that scenario...not that it would be the only reason for all mother's. As we know from experience this is not the case. Sorry for the confusion!
