sigh. It would be helpful to know WHAT looked "a little bit off". Of course, now we know what was off, but that first day? She was just missing like so many other people. IMO

Leaves home with only house keys and phone - indicating not going far or for too long
Phone - allegedly - had flat battery, so effectively she has no money ( unless she took cash / cards which has not been reported )
Disappears off cctv radar very quickly - would have been captured somewhere else if she had gone walking or shopping
No known emotional problems
Due home 6pm to have tea with daughter

Plus - and I think this would have been one of the main reasons for the high alert - she is the wrong age group.
Plenty of young people - teens, twenties - go missing on a regular basis, but for females ( and males ) in a higher age bracket, the stats are much lower.
( case in point, Helen Bailey, she was the only 50 something female missing in the whole Eastern region of the UK at the time of her disappearance )

all MOO of course

Moo.. the lad just has something wrong with him like autism. Plays killing games fancied killing someone. LB walked up the side of the pub. The lad jumped out killed her. Attempting to burieing her there in a shallow grave. Went back got the bin. Couldn't fit her inside. chopped her feet off. Placed LB in the bin took her to the cemetery where bodys belong. Dug a shallow grave took her legs and feet out. Got spooked by a dog walker and ran leaving LB body in the bin near by the partly dug grave and the objects inside... just a wrong places wrong time for LB.. then a CCTV hunt for someone with a wheelie bin. Then a big ask to public to identify the person before he can do it again. Then needing nearly all 96 hours to slow down interviews so he can understand what is going on and understanding each question if he has autism. Having someone in the docs with him Monday and to tell him what's going on and to read to him as well as his mum crying and having a little smile at him. All MOO of course
Has it been reported anywhere he dismembered her body ?

From link:

"The boy was accompanied in the dock by an intermediary to explain what was happening"

I realise he's a juvenile but can we read anymore into this comment?
Possibly unable to read write and /or comprehend

That's extremely likely. If Lindsay was killed on the 12 August and her body found 12 days later then it would be badly decomposed as well as possibly dismembered, so no chance of any evidence of a sexual assault.
In most cases you are right about the decomposition but it’s not always the case
Do you remember the case of Brian Blackwell , 19 year old only son and alleged tennis prodigy who murdered his parents in July I think 2005 and went to the USA ,taking his unknowing girlfriend on holiday with him and returning 3 weeks later? It was in Lydiate on the outskirts of Merseyside.
He hoped that by the time he returned, they would be badly decomposed and found in the heat of the summer by neighbours or the postman thus leading the investigation away from himself as he was t here . However, when he returned, Jacqueline and Kenneth ,his parents were still sat in their place of death and had totally mummified- it was as is their body was still alive . In all my years as an SIO I have never seen that before or since but it can happen and therefore DNA can be obtained after 12 days albeit . It’s very unusual. We don’t know what they are searching for and if that is victim related or otherwise evidence related

Do you know I don't feel it is any more complex than something occurred in or around the pub and LB was murdered. I don't think hers or any other potential victims death was pre-planned.

It's a possibility, but so is the fact that her husband is chairperson of the Parish Council. They make decisions on things like planning applications from their perspective.

Yes, I had a look at the Parish Council boundary and the traveller site didn't fall into it. Then again maybe an application was refused within his parish.

However, I don't buy it that it would be a likely motive. However they are settled in Whinney Hill.

Lancslive: TRIAL DATE SET

Trial date set

A trial date has been set for February 25 2020. It is expected to take two weeks.

The judge has reminded the press about reporting restrictions, which ban the publication of any information which could identify the the youth.
And yet his full name is still published right there on the court docket for all the world to see. They still haven't taken it down.

So the court page says this - "Warning - There may be cases within the court list with reporting restrictions. Please check with the court.
Any breach of reporting restrictions is punishable by sanctions up to and including imprisonment."

Then they report his full name themselves.

I've just checked and it's still showing his full name. o_O Out of everyone I didn't think it would be the courts that would name him (albeit accidental), I was expecting it to come from somewhere like The Sun... Whoever let that go on there is going to get in trouble!

Right? It's almost like they wanted everyone to know who he is. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but it certainly is ironic. IMO

I am shocked this has happened. IMO

So I learnt in Libby case the police can hold you 96 hours before charge , how long was this lad held before charge made ? Are the timings different because of age ?

If you can have 96 hours to questions wouldn’t the police use it to get as much questioning done as possible ?

Or is it they are 100 % positive they didn’t need extra hours ?

I would imagine the frantic husband would have said 'I'm the chairperson of the Parish Council' and might have mooted a potential disgruntled parishioner ?? JMO

Ok
As a retired SIO I have done the correct thing and made contact with the Force major incident team and informed them that the Preston Crown Court listings are still showing the defendants name
It shouldn’t be on there which has just been confirmed to me and endeavours will be made to take it off the website as per judges rulings on identification and law in relation to juvenile identification . Me thinks that heads will roll !
