Seems to be a lot of stop starting with this case, I feel sorry for Lindsay's family, this must be frustrating, doesn't seem to be going anywhere fast.. wonder if theres other stuff going on behind the scenes.

The same here. I'm not familiar with court proceedings, but i did wonder if (apart from the obvious lunch and 'coffee break') all the chamber sittings and other stoppages were normal.

Right can someone please explain to me who the prosecution and defense are and who's on who's side please. My head is not working today at all...!

Phone evidence has not been mentioned yet. Thinking of them saying about the match.com thing... could RP be arranging to meet her? But that would come out in evidence surely? I don't know...I'm lost now! This trial is honestly messing with my head.

We just want some piggin answers!

Anyone following Lancashire Telegraph? Quite interesting that LB was asking about a dating site The day before. Was she not on a relationship?
Yes, she had a boyfriend in Cumbria, but, I wonder if it was just too far away for her, especially with having 2 children, and, she wanted to meet someone closer to home?

Yes, her boyfriend was described as 'new partner Rob Chaplow' in the first day's proceedings and her last known phone message was sent to Rob at 3:41pm (just before she went out) on the day Lindsay disappeared.

Though of course, these days more so than ever ' relationship'. 'boyfriend/girlfriend', doesn't really mean much in a lot of cases.

Coppice not completely covered on CCTV
The jury have been told that officers ‘scoured’ many CCTV cameras in the area to help with their enquiries.

Defence barrister Mark Fenhalls QC has asked Det Sgt Dave Bowler if every entrance to the Coppice in Accrington was covered on CCTV.

The officer said it isn’t.

No CCTV of Lindsay Birbeck after Peel Park Avenue
Det Sgt Bowler has told the jury that there is no CCTV of Lindsay Birbeck on Burnley Road in Accrington beyond the junction with Peel Park Avenue.

The jury were told that officers ‘deduced’ she had therefore walked down Peel Park Avenue in the direction of the Coppice.

The officer said there was also no CCTV footage from a bus in the area showing Lindsay.

12:24pm
Mr Fenhalls is asking DS Bowler to explain how the police came to the conclusion that Lindsay Birbeck walked down Peel Park Avenue towards the Coppice on the day of her disappearance, given that she was not seen on CCTV heading down that road.

DS Bowler tells the jury that CCTV footage from all other cameras was looked at, and CCTV from buses travelling along Burnley Road was also inspected and Lindsay Birbeck was not spotted on any of these cameras, so it was deduced she had walked down Peel Park Avenue

12:20pm
Mr Fenhalls asks DS Bowler to confirm there are many access points to The Coppice. He confirms this.

DS Bowler is then asked if there are CCTV cameras at every entrance to The Coppice.

DS Bowler said: "No we don't have CCTV at every entrance to The Coppice."

No useful CCTV from Peel Park Avenue
The jury have been told that officers found three ‘potential sources’ of CCTV on Peel Park Avenue.

However defence barrister Mark Fenhalls QC said two cameras were not working on August 12 - the day Lindsay Birbeck disappeared - and the other was a motion camera which ‘sometimes worked for cars but not always’.

Det Sgt Dave Bowler agreed saying: “It picked up some vehicle movements but not all vehicle movements.”
