It was a cracker. I wasn’t aware of this case prior to watching either.
I watched this last night and particularly noted the comments of the Bedfordshire ACC.

I forget whether I made the point previously on this thread but I am becoming ever more convinced that all firearms transactions should be made via a Registered Firearms Dealer. If a person had to physically walk into a gunshop to conduct the transfer then I believe that this would constitute a significant deterrent to someone who was trying to blag himself, and his fake certificate, to a regular shooter who likely has virtually no interaction with firearms transfers. It's a much bigger thing to blag someone who does these things for a living, every day of the week.

As people will notice from my profile, I am an RFD so it will inevitably be spun as me (and other dealers) touting for work, but I can assure you that is far from the case. Doing transfers for people - which we do already in the case of distance sales - is a pain in the arse, quite frankly, but is not too much of an unreasonable requirement of your registration, imo.
