He discovered how to make ricin after downloading a document called Military Studies in the Jihad Against the Tyrants: The Al Qaeda Training Manual. Possession of it is a terrorism offence.

He bought the equipment to produce ricin in early 2022. He later bought two Cerebra 20-inch kitchen knives on Amazon for £3.40 each – one of which was used on July 29. The second was found in his family's living room.

Although the sale of knives is banned to under-18s, he obscured his identity and asked for deliveries to be 'made in plain packaging'. A machete and scabbard, a set of arrows and a black holdall were also found.

A 'suspicious substance' found at his home in the early days of the search was confirmed to be ricin by experts at Porton Down on August 2 but the risk to the public was deemed 'low to very low'. There was no evidence Rudakubana took any ricin to the dance studio or what his plans were for the substance.

The government denied it was a terrorist attack and were not informed that he had manufactured ricin.

He later bought two Cerebra 20-inch kitchen knives on Amazon for £3.40 each – one of which was used on July 29. The second was found in his family's living room.

And no one else in the house noticed this ?

Family also somehow missed the ricin making in his bedroom and the container of ricin under his bed.

I don't cast shade on the family for not knowing what was under their 18 yr old son's bed. By that age, children should be responsible to keep their own rooms clean.

Rudakubana enters court and sits with his head bowed

The court clerk approaches the dock and knocks on the glass pane at the front, but does not receive a response.

She then places a phone call and returns to the judge’s quarters.

Rudakubana appears in the dock surrounded by five security guards.

He again appears in a grey prison issue tracksuit and with a face mask over his mask and sits with his head bowed.

Justice Goose enters the courtroom.

The defendant refuses to confirm his name, although the dock officers confirm that the court clerk can be heard in the dock.

Rudakubana interrupts proceedings to shout he needs a paramedic

The defendant is heard saying in the dock: “I’m not fine, I feel ill. No.”

Rudakubana shouts: “I need to speak to a paramedic because I feel ill. Judge I need to speak to a paramedic because I feel ill.”

Judge: “I know the defendant has seen medical practitioners and been examined.”

Rudakubana shouts: “You’re not giving me any support judge, I feel ill.”

The judge addresses Mr Reiz: “Could you ask him to speak to him. I’ve heard what he’s said. I want this hearing to continue."

Mr Reiz: “He has not eaten for a number of days. He has drunk very little. There was concern about his ability to be in a high pressure situation. I spoke to Mr R this morning. He did indicate that he felt well enough to proceed. I will take instructions."

Judge: “I’ve been reassured that he has been seen and is fit to attend this hearing.”

Justice Goose says that he will require Rudakubana to remain quiet during the sentencing, at which he says: “I can’t remain quiet because I’m ill judge. I haven’t eaten for 10 days. I’m not going to remain quiet."

Public gallery calls Rudakubana a coward as he is led from the court

Mr Reiz takes instructions at the back of the courtroom before telling the court: “The defendant says he’s experiencing chest pains. He says he feels too ill to continue and would like to see a paramedic. It’s important that this case continues, but those are my instructions.”

Justice Goose says: “I’m going to continue with these proceedings for the time being.”

But the defendant says: “I feel ill judge. I feel ill. I’m going to pass out. no . I can’t continue with this.”

Judge: “I’ve asked you to be quiet.”

The judge asks Ms Heer to continue and she attempts to but Rudakubna says: “I can’t continue with this judge. No, no it can’t continue judge. I need to speak to a paramedic. I need to speak to a paramedic. My chest is hurting.”

Justice Goose replies: “Shouting from the dock is not going to make this happen any quicker. You’ve chosen that moment to say that as these proceedings start. You will see someone

Rudakubana continues: “I didn’t choose a moment to feel pain. It’s not my fault. I need to speak to a paramedic judge. Stop ignoring me.”

The judge again tells Ms Heer to continue, but Rudakubana shouts: “Don’t continue, don't continue, don't continue.”

Justice Goose says: “Take him out.”

He indicates that Rudakubana can be kept in a room at the back of the dock.

A man in the public gallery is heard to say “coward” as Rudakubana leaves.

The judge says: “I think he has voluntarily absented himself.”

Sounds like he can speak perfectly well, when it suits him

Wow just wow. What an evil little monster.

A dock officer says he's been seen by medical staff who say he's fit to continue but want a second opinion.

Two dock officers return to the courtroom, and the judge asked Ms Heer to pause.

One of the guards tells Justice Goose that Rudakubana has been seen by a paramedic and adds: “They would like a second opinion from a doctor.”

Justice Goose: “That can continue while we continue with proceedings.”

Quite. He is doing this deliberately to cause maximum anguish to the family and friends of the murdered and injured little girls and adults.

So he suddenly isn't mute any more??
This is a circus!

What does it mean he didn't eat for several days?
They should have force fed him.
Through his nose with a tube.

Aaaargh!

"At about 11:10 he left his address on foot," she goes on, explaining the events of 29 July - the day of the Southport killings.

"He had with him a kitchen knife with a 20cm-long blade, manufactured by Apollo Cerbera. It was one of two identical knives he had purchased from Amazon on 13 July 2024, taking steps to hide his identity when he did so by using a Virtual Private Network (VPN)," Heer tells the court.

"Evidence obtained from his laptop computer shows that, shortly before leaving, he deleted his internet browsing history."
