Correct, but the chances of her ending up in the water from the bench seem low.
The access to the river isn't a straight drop either, it's a rolling hill down to the water covered with grasses and shrubbery and some trees., that would've slowed her.

To even reach the river from the bench she'd have to be rolling on the floor, fast and hard and in that direction. It's possible but unlikely that happened. Also, no evidence in the riverbank of someone going down the hill...little twigs would be broken, there would be marks.

And if she was attacked and dragged down the embankment and in, Lancashire Police have said there is no evidence of that and no-one else is likely involved.

But an open mind must be kept.

I think the owner of the empty house and also people at the caravan parks needs to be questioned a bit more.
Who lives at a caravan park unfreezing cold January? Are these holiday places or permanent homes?

Was she attacked and/or enticed there?

Whatever happened it must've been quick to not take her phone.
Very good point

I used to have a caravan on a holiday park and one of the reasons we got rid was they started selling them to single men, using them as a cheap permanent home rather than a holiday home. As a father of young girls I was a bit dubious as we didn’t know who these men were or where they’d come from. And why they’d want to live on a holiday park full of families.

From the maps we’ve seen, the caravan park is a lot more curious than the ‘abandoned home’ on the opposite side of the river, across a main road.

Maybe I’ve watched too much Happy Valley (s2)!!!!

It was her sister who booked the Spa. Her sister sent her details of the different treatments the night before she went missing and did not get a reply.
Can I ask your source for that info plz

First thing I spotted on the map!

I also wonder about the

I also wondered about the meeting. IIRC, her mother was quoted as saying something about ‘she was happy to have her mortgage sorted’ - was this a mortgage she was selling as part of her job, or ‘her’ mortgage? - her mother’s words suggest the latter but this may be sloppy reporting or just a turn of phrase.

May not be important, but would put a different spin on the purpose of the meeting, potentially.

We know from her parents that she had this meeting with her boss the day before and it obviously went well as she was happy:

"Nicola had had a meeting with her boss in Garstang and she said can you stay a bit later because I have an important client coming in on Zoom."

From LinkedIn the company seems fairly small with only 5 employees listed so it might have been an external call as her boss was quoted as saying:

"There were numerous parties involved in this. A lot of people attended the call. The police are investigating the call."

If she did fall or get into a deep part of the river, and I think I read it was a ‘tidal’ river so I assume opens into the sea, then Libby Squires body was found 7 weeks later (Snippet from Daily Mail : “Her [Libby’s] body was found in the Humber Estuary seven weeks after she vanished following the night out in Hull. “
And foul play was involved here also.
However you look at this case, even if she ended up in the river, it does suggest foul play.

The only other possibility is a stage disappearance but given her happy family life and the love for her dog, would she leave all of that behind.

Of course you don't know what lies inside of families. But given all of the reporting, the police will have checked with her partner and if all was ok with their relationship then this case goes back to foul play.

Still no press conference - I find this strange. MOO.

Whilst a huge age difference this case has similar traits to Leah Croucher-Milton Keynes.
It is believed that she also met someone the night before her disappearance. She kept the knowledge of this person from her family.
She then went missing on her walk the following day.
Yes and it wasn’t treated as suspicious much like here….

Louise had just booked Ribby Hall because they both had spa vouchers, she had just sent Nicola the night before the treatments. Louise booked it on Friday morning and sent it to Nicola but she never got back to her. They are very close."

They discussed treatments the night before and her sister booked it the next day (it was the Friday she never heard back not the Thursday night)

I am wondering whether we are concentrating on the wrong spot along the river? I know that the phone, harness and lead were found by the bench - but we don't actually know whether NB left the items there do we? From various reports, the person who found willow, tied her to the bench - I am leaping to the conclusion, that willow slipped her harness and lead there. It doesn't answer why the phone was also found there though.

We need to hear more from the lady who found Willow.

This doesnt mean much if she was spotted on the school run happy / nothing wrong that could suggest anything.

All it means is that she was too busy to reply / went to bed early.

Edit - if it comes out she cant be confirmed on the school run and the witnesses didnt see her but someone else, thats when you question the timeline.

Might be being a bit pedantic (well possibly not, lol), but what is the deal with an "abandoned house" with an owner there?

Media are sensationalising something, the police have not made any statement about it or even put a particular focus on it.

It has now been searched in the grounds and as of midday yesterday it was reported searchers were granted access inside to search also.

Often Mortgage brokers attend a call of a financial supplier who updates them on new products and legislation.

Or if there was another party involved who was known to NB and knew her daily routine everything has been placed to try and indicate that it all was a possible accident and to make it look more plausible. IMO
Yes those are my thoughts.

  • #456
just noticed from one of NB facebook pictures she has in the past been on the other bank of river opposite to bench (nov 29, 2022) - new poster me on websleths

  • #457
The police clearly can’t be sure themselves that there’s no foul play otherwise why would they search the house. IMO

  • #458
If she had done the same walk most work days at the same time and sat on the same bench then it is possible she was abducted.

I’d be looking at who else regularly uses that path at that time of day initially now a river accident is seemingly less likely,

Well spotted

Yes those are my thoughts.
This could also be why there is confusion over the harness, would a non dog walker think it would be normal to remove the harness to make it look like something had happened in the water. IMO
