Interesting point '...from the evidence we've got at the moment.'

I think it is Fitbit data too. Could conceivably of pushed step data (arms moving) and heart rate to the phone before becoming out of range. Potentiallly...
It’s unlikely to be Fitbit data - they’ve already said it hasn’t synched with her phone - so would require that they’ve found the device and by extension probably her too.

In a further DM article, by a friend of Nicola's who also doesn't believe she's in the river, it's noted at hte bottom of the list of things they write that "CCTV at residential park at top field had one camera not working"

Thank you, Jeremy.

In that case, if NB did fall into the river and hasn’t got lodged against something there’s the horrendous possibility she’s out at sea. God, how heartbreaking!
The river flow is very slow there and it’s got many meanders. I don’t personally think she would have got very far, I’m not even convinced she’d have gone over the weir, people tend to get stuck on them.

Hadn't picked up on LE stating that.

I do also wonder whether it's possible to get data directly from Fitbit, either from their servers or somehow remotely off the Fitbit, without it needing to have synced to the phone. Not 100% certain though.
The police looked into this

Phone signal can‘t put phone on a bench. My phone and iPad think I’m in the flat next door.

It depends what you think the emphasis in the question is: “how can you be sure… 9.20 exactly?“ or “how can you be sure.. on the bench?”

I think the SI is answering how they know NB arrived at that area at 9.20 - from the phone signal; not how they know it was on the bench specifically.

The latest update compounds the ambiguity with ”at” so it’s still not clear.
Is it possible that they can be certain that the phone didn’t move after 9.20 until it was found, meaning it must have been on the bench at 9.20?

This may well have been said. I apologise if I'm going over old ground. Perhaps the police have managed to sync her fitbit using her phone which means she is in that area. In event of lost fitbit it states below
  • Take your phone to the area where you think you lost your device and try to sync. If your device syncs, it's nearby.

Fitbit hadn’t synched since the previous Tuesday according to friend.

I'm not sure, I'm useless at this.. If we could see it on Google Earth maybe?
I don’t have google earth. I know google maps shows it as Blackpool lane but Apple Maps show it as Garstang lane - but I think basically the place she entered the towpath was the place she may have exited the towpath and I think that’s probably where the blackspot is. IMO.

May well have already discussed but why has the timings changed by 10 minutes or is this another blunder by the police -

Nicola was last seen on Friday morning (January 27th) at around 9.20am on the upper field by the river off Garstang Road where she had taken her Spaniel Willow for a walk after dropping her children at school in the village.

How would willow have got through the gate?
She’d have been biting the attacker or clenching her jaws on their clothing. She’d also have been barking furiously and jumping. She’d have got through/over that gate too.

Apologies if this has already been asked-has anything been mentioned about her usual route through this park? She doubled back, was this normal? How does she usually exit?
She was probably returning towards home.

Yeah I pointed this out earlier - shoddy reporting when timing is so crucial. IMO.

Video of the route she took that morning.

Are you able to watch that video ok? I'm getting sound but the colours are all scrambled.

This seems to happen regularly
