Thanks, will take look later.
In the meantime why do you think the NCA have 'signed-off' on LancsPolice approach, if, it contradicts their own advice?

link for that
Because NCA will know everything - and I mean everything - that Lancs knows, and possibly a bit more, and that's what they were being asked to sign off on (the whole investigation thus far), not what has been communicated publicly.

Having watched it unfold I do think the police are not telling the whole story, if the national crime agency are involved they could be looking at things that are cyber related not just the dash cam footage.

The police could be using the river as a decoy, but actually have information on the where-about of Nikki therefore don't want to risk thwarting the investigation if there is possibly of third party involvement.

But it's all very bizarre that they didn't seal off the chair as that is essentially a crime scene, which makes me think they already have information. My suspicion is that she's not in the water and this was pre-planned that's why it's sometimes important not to always publish your whereabouts on Facebook, all it takes is to someone to watch Nikki's movements over time and what area's don't have CCTV.
If a decoy it’s a very expensive decoy, given the resources being poured into this in addition to the free sonar search help.

I wonder why Police haven't released a clear, sharp CCTV/doorbell image of Nicola en-route, with Willow, close to where she was last seen.

You think this would be a better memory-jog for anyone who had seen her.

The image we have is "NB" at her house in Inskip, 4 miles / 10 min drive away from the school.
This concerned me, as an actual visual is far better to jog people's memories, especially in the early stages of a missing persons case. Unless of course they don't have one.

The article says it was:

I've seen the TV pictures of the river near where Nicola went missing and it doesn't look that deep or fast-flowing. But I've also looked on a website which charts river levels and there had been a spike on January 26, the day before she vanished.
"I think the river conditions were pretty similar when Roger went missing and he was obviously swept over the weir and into the tidal part of the river. He has found near Shard Bridge which is a fair distance away from St Michael's.

The conditions couldn't have been more different IMO

"It was 3am before police were alerted that someone was missing and returned to the bridge which was over a fast-flowing stream in flood. They found one of Roger's gloves on the banking, but there was no trace of the teenager."

I think this would fit with why police made it high risk missing person and why PA called the police immediately. IMO.

Agree, and as usual I would suggest that the police know what we don't and tailor their response & actions to their knowledge (& that of any relevant partners, NCA?) This is one of those "can we skip to the end and find out what we didn't know please?" cases IMO.

My thoughts exactly.

I'm so sorry this is probably something that has been talked about multiple times, but the conference call she was on.....was she only listening and not talking? Did anyone hear anything?

Be gentle. I've been immersed in the Murdaugh trial ;).
No one heard, her phone was joined to the call but muted and camera off - this was very normal for NB & her work routine - apparently often did this on walks - as per police press conference before last.

No, but I do think it’s significant because an ankle-length gilet sounds like a major trip hazard….knee-length isn’t. In other words, an ankle-length garment would, IMO, make the likelihood of an accident scenario more likely.
Maybe that's the case but that doesn't alter the facts of what has happened
This isnt a crime puzzle that we have to solve, what's done is done and confusion over the length of the gilet has no bearing on fiinding Nicola
The options are binary, she went in the river or she didn't the likelihood is irrelevant once the event has occured

The MS Teams conf call she was on with work colleagues, her camera was off & her microphone was muted, it seems she was merely listening in. When the conf call ended at 09.30 she did not hang up & remained in the meeting.

New poster here. This is JMO, MOO but…
I think (?) the police have said they haven’t released all details yet. But they were certain she went in the river. Her father had stated she had no health problems so we believe her to be physically strong and fit. What if she was ( early stages) pregnant? In initial stages it’s quite common to feel faint and woozy. It could explain why she may have suddenly had a bad turn and fallen in. And if feeling weak dizzy etc she couldn’t get out easily. This would be sensitive enough not to release maybe especially if it was very early days and family weren’t aware?
Just a thought…?
JMO, MOO
Thanks

It's not your fault but police made no reference to sensitive information at all.. it did not happen.
It was a chinese whisper that started here last night.
This is the presser.

After just logging in, the incredible thing for me to see was that PF has now said that NB may have made it out to sea, after yesterday saying this was "impossible".

This guy is unbelievable. I just read a completely contradictory quote from him, which imo shows a huge ignorance as to how tides and rivers work:

"Now if you take a football on a tidal river…when the tide goes out the the ball will go down the stream and then as soon as the tide turns it will come back in again. It'll end up back at the same place"

If she’d got out of the water and hidden herself somewhere, exhausted, her dog would have scented her even if a mile or two away. JMO

1) Qualified, extensively trained, airscent search dogs are typically expected to find people at around 30-50m away, although you do frequently see them finding a scent from around 100m (but not miles)
2) If the wind is going in the wrong direction, or there is any geographical or natural barriers that disturb the scent - dogs can literally miss someone they are within a couple of metres of.

In short, yes, some pet dogs may display natural scenting and finding instincts - but there’s a reason it takes on average 2 years for a search dog and handler to qualify to become operational. Scent and search is an absolute science - and whilst dogs are INCREDIBLE - it takes a lot of work to make it a useful skill to handlers!

Edit to add: Obviously I feel strongly about people better understanding search dogs, no desire to offend anyone!

If anyone is interviewed by the police to give a witness statement does that make them a POI ?

Agree the phone is very disturbing that it was left anywhere. All the passwords saved in it, bills that get paid online, credit and debit information, contacts, apps, on and on. My son recently had his cell stolen and fortunately it was locked but he still had to change all his information and practically rebuild his life. It seems to me something truly abrupt had to have happened to leave that phone so vulnerable.
I'll echo this.

I had my "identity" stolen about 20 yrs ago. Very crudely, someone found a bank card, not mine but with the same name as me, went to the phone book, and photocopied a few bills. Then they went round shops opening up credit accounts and obtaining goods. First I knew was when I started getting letters a month or two later asking for my "correct bank details". It was not easy to get all this sorted, even though it was such a crude effort.

Phones are one of the likeliest things to lose/have stolen. There are no sensitive details of me kept on my phone. Even pics are regularly removed.

Sorry off-topic, .. just something for people to think about for themselves before it gets deleted.

PS Edit - removed a, possibly criminal, apostrophe error.
