Things can happen very quickly though, and the shock of an attack like that could just make you freeze.
Not always easy to try and get help or run.

Very true. Also, if someone pulled a knife on me and I was a bit drunk, I'd likely think they were taking the p*ss, not taking it seriously until too late.

We need an update. I hope their Mum has lots of support; I read in one of the articles she had retired due to health reasons. I'm hope her faith is a comfort. She is quite a remarkable woman, herself.

MOO

Who would have known they were there alone and vulnerable at that time of night ? I cant imagine there would be anyone there at that time. Makes me think the killer knew the victims.

I don't know..someone they knew taking on 2 of them sounds a bit iffy. Why not take them down individually if the killer new them? Sounds like the work of a psycho on the prowl to me.

London sisters found dead were daughters of C of E’s first female BAME archdeacon

Im just wondering about the random or targetted attack too. Just some early scattered thoughts..

The Police statement suggests that people may have come across personal items without giving any thought to their significance. This makes me think things were taken from the scene and maybe items dumped? Bags ?Handbags? Purses? Etc. Makes me think random.

Unfounded but the elder sister was a senior social worker ,dealing with child protection etc. This area of work can be bitter and complex, with custody and removal and all sorts of highly charged situations. Was just something that could be an outside reason for a targetted crime?

Was also wondering from Cags' crime scene pics, if the two tents were the two scenes of actual attacks....one in situ and the second after an attempted escape and short chase. This would make some sense of how 2 people were subdued? Maybe repositioning of 2nd body at original site

Random Race attack by disturbed individual? Group? Been a fairly heated couple of weeks....can see it possibly. Deranged racist etc

My own prejudices also make me worry whenever religion is involved too, however directly or indirectly. Would be interested in finding out how far, if at all, the sisters' involvement in the maternal church life went. Some oddbods in all congregations !

My instincts are a random attack, by an individual, but open to all possibilities at this stage.

I agree with everything you have wrote and that thought had crossed my mind, about Bibaa working for children's services and someone left disgruntled by her work taking some kind of revenge. The other theory on it being a race hate crime, due to recent events, could be possible too. Hoping for more updates, especially if it was a random killing.

UK MSM have reported that the girls were killed by a stranger. This is so scary for the locals . Just hope they catch them soon.

Two sisters found dead in north London park 'killed by a stranger'

Two sisters who were found stabbed to death in a north London park were killed by a stranger, police have said.

Homicide detectives now believe that the pair were murdered by someone who was "unknown to them" between 12.30am and 3am, and have appealed for information about the suspect.

We believe the suspect received injuries during the incident which have caused significant bleeding. Do you know anyone who has been wounded in the last week who is unable to account for their injuries?

"Has someone returned home and perhaps acted suspiciously or tried to hide something from you?

Yes I’m guessing DNA is blood as they said the murderer would have had sustained injuries

I assume the reason the attacker has been reported to be injured is that the sisters fought back, which is heartbreaking if true. The time of death of 12.30am and 3am is very short especially if people only completely left at midnight.

Do we think they were being watched or just in the wrong time and place when whoever came across them?

Yes, certainly on the DNA, but how so soon to rule out what could be so many possible acquaintences of two adult women?

I’m guessing the DNA of the group doesn’t match the DNA they found. Also given the nature of the lockdown it would be bizarre for a 3rd party that they knew but wasn’t part of the party to have followed them and waited For 3 hours to attack. Everyone is mainly home so hard to follow movements etc as everything so unpredictable

But to use the word "certainty" even if modifying it with the word "some" still seems a bit bold, even given the above.

I assume they are looking for the knife, which hopefully the attacker dropped if he was injured and can be brought to justice quickly. It's so sad for the birthday party to end like this.

Can we just work on the timeline of the info the police are releasing - as I think it’s been very slow release of information. To be fair I don’t often follow cases like this but I would’ve expected the police to have given more information quicker. It’s now been a week since the murder so the longer they are taking means potentially longer to bring killer to justice :

Sunday 7 June - police find bodies. They don’t release whether it’s been murder or anything else. They just say it’s been referred to the homicide department.

Monday 8 June - in the evening circa 6/7pm they say it’s a murder investigation.

Wednesday 10 June - they release they were stabbed again this is released on Wednesday evening about 7pm.

Friday 12 June - the police reveal it was a random killing.

feel like it’s been a long time before police revealing any new information and being a local I haven’t seen any of the increased patrols the police are referring to in the area

Sisters found dead in park 'murdered by stranger'

Nothing really new but I thought this was something to highlight -

"Police believe the killer left the park via the Valley Drive entrance.

The sisters and their friends had been in part of a park which was about a five-minute walk from the Valley Drive entrance to the park."

I wonder if they got CCTV from a home or business near the Valley Drive entrance?

This case makes me so very sad. And it's incredibly scary, these ladies were doing nothing that put them in harm's way.

And @Omasa4 , I'd be wondering where the increased patrols were actually patrolling as well.

Police say two sisters murdered in a London beauty spot were stabbed to death by a stranger | Daily Mail Online
''It has also emerged that a Snapchat user warned about a man 'killing people' in the area and going around 'scaring' people a week before the two murders.
The 15-year-old daughter of local resident Amanda Jacob Da Silva, 40, said her friend had posted about a man 'going around north-west London' on the app.

'She said for people around Brent to beware, tell people where you are if you are going out and to call people if you are out by yourself,' the girl said.

'It said especially girls. It said there is a man going around killing people and the person on the Snapchat said tell people where you are.' ''
