I really think they fought back and I also think there's a strong possibility he cut himself too but his injures must not have been too awful as the attack didn't stop until unfortunately the sister's were dead.

I was thinking there might be a blood trail to the Valley Drive entrance

Sounds like it, about 300-350 metres of blood trail. You would think it'd require medical treatment. At least they have a good source of the killers DNA.

Police say two sisters murdered in a London beauty spot were stabbed to death by a stranger | Daily Mail Online
''It has also emerged that a Snapchat user warned about a man 'killing people' in the area and going around 'scaring' people a week before the two murders.
The 15-year-old daughter of local resident Amanda Jacob Da Silva, 40, said her friend had posted about a man 'going around north-west London' on the app.

'She said for people around Brent to beware, tell people where you are if you are going out and to call people if you are out by yourself,' the girl said.

'It said especially girls. It said there is a man going around killing people and the person on the Snapchat said tell people where you are.' ''

So have there been other murders in the area recently, I wonder?

Litter-picker unwittingly throws away potential evidence in Brent sisters murder case
''A do-gooder unwittingly threw away potential evidence in the murder investigation of two Brent sisters.''

''Officers have now spent five days sifting through rubbish at a waste centre to recover the items, any of which could contain critical forensic evidence.

Det Ch Insp Harding said: “We had to take a bit of a punt on it, because it could go to any of the rubbish sites and sometimes they are transported between them, so we were lucky that working on where we thought it might go, we picked the right place.”

''From blood on the scene, the murderer is believed to be unknown to the victims and have incurred a “significant” injury - which may now be bandaged.

Det Ch Insp Harding said there is no clear motive and they do not yet understand exactly what happened.''

Hoping that there will not be any more attacks considering this statement..
Murderer of sisters in north London 'could strike again', police warn
June 12 2020 rbbm.
''A stranger who murdered two sisters in a park in north London "could strike again", police have warned.''

''Detective Chief Inspector Simon Harding described their deaths as "incredibly unusual", given the rural location of Fryent Country Park in Wembley, where their bodies were found.''

''Police have revealed the suspect suffered "significant" bleeding from an injury sustained during the attack on the women and is likely to be wearing a bandage.

They urged anyone who knows someone in the area with a similar unexplained injury to contact them.''

I hope they brought Dr Richard Shepherd in to do the post mortem. I read his book a few months ago and he has gained a reputation for expert stabbing analysis. The pathologists will be able to tell who was stabbed first, from which direction and angle, who retaliated and how etc.

Wonder if they're looking for the knife/knives in the landfill? Didn't a local walker say he or she had found knives in the woods?

They should check the hospitals for anyone coming in with hand injuries. I remember Edwin Alemany cutting his hand while attempting to murder Kayleigh Ballantyne (after he'd murdered Amy Lord in Boston USA). The police had seen a blood trail, located CCTV and went to the local hospital where the assailant was getting treatment on his hand (and subsequently arrested him).
A frenzied knife attack on 2 women would hopefully yield sufficient clues / evidence to find the evil 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 that snuffed their lives out.
RIP to the poor ladies, hopefully they'll get justice soon.

Sounds like they have DNA. Let's hope it quickly leads to a suspect. But that police statement, not very reassuring, imo.

Hopeful they have lots of "eyes" in the community and someone notices an injury. Although, with shielding, it would be easy to lay low while it healed. Let's hope he runs out of Band-Aids.

Yes, that’s the one. Highly recommended!

It’s not all gory, there is lots of info about police/court procedures and general autopsies. Also how much that line of work affects home life.

Hi everyone, it's been a while, just catching up with the thread
I know if I was in a park, at that time of night with a sibling or any relative, and we were approached and attacked, I would personally fight the assailant off, and do everything within my power to protect my relative and myself, and tragically, from what I have read in MHO that is what this sounds like has happened.
But who is this man who has been mentioned, the guy in he's 50's, the willy waggler, the post about women being followed, could it be one and the same person, who has now escalated... Or could those reports just be the usual london randomness, either way I hope the police are gathering all intel

Sadly my guess is that this may well be somebody with a severe mental illness and it was random.

I dont think a sex attacker would normally approach two potential victims, although I know it has happened before.

It could have been a robbery that went wrong. It's not the safest area of London and there are some very desperate and aggressive people on the streets of London at the moment.

JMO, no outside info.

I tend to think it's a random attack by a severely mentally ill person to.

"From blood on the scene, the murderer is believed to be unknown to the victims"
I'm racking my brain trying to think how you could determine a stranger from a friend simply by the blood being present. Anyone?

I wonder if that's either poorly worded, or they are holding back what they know out of respect for the family and / or the integrity of the investigation.

I assume maybe they have DNA from her friends and have cross-referenced it with them. But like someone mentioned before, could you really be positive about the girls acquaintances in this short of a time?

Perhaps the Police have identified the DNA from blood at the scene and have matched it to another crime or a person whose DNA is already on their records.

Doesn't even a preliminary DNA test take some time? I wondered if they determined the blood doesn't belong to anyone they know by the blood type, A, AB, O, etc. Maybe not a common blood type? Hopefully on record and they can trace whoever it is.

And how can you not wonder about the 50ish guy who seemed to be threatening/mentally ill/possible willy wagger?

Awful, tragic crime.
