One of the questions lists 'Give 4 potential complications of having a UAC/UVC line in situ'. Letby writes, for one of the four answers, 'air embolysm [sic]'.

Letby, the court hears, has no previous criminal convictions or cautions.
The Countess of Chester Hospital Trust's neonatal unit was redesignated as a 'level one' unit on July 7, 2016. This was a decision taken by the trust.

Well. That was very compelling. Those poor families (and the jury).

I think there was some incriminating evidence today and it is becoming clear how the prosecution is going to bring this all together in closing speeches.

Well, hats off to the prosecution for such a brilliant delivery and overall case

3:13pm

A competency assessment for administration via IV lines was also obtained.

The competency checklist for Lucy Letby shows ticks for all 20 required boxes, and the candidate - Letby - is deemed to have passed.

The assessment is dated May 31, 2015

3:18pm

A blood transfusion workbook was also obtained from Lucy Letby's HR file at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

One of the questions lists 'Give 4 potential complications of having a UAC/UVC line in situ'. Letby writes, for one of the four answers, 'air embolysm [sic]'.

A transfusion competency assessment also has questions listed, which Letby has provided responses. The assessment is dated May 11, 2016.

So she wrote about air embolism on an assessment form ..and 8 days later her first alleged victim was allegedly injected with air

What happens next? Do we get the whole thing again from the defence angle?

I understand your point, and not having a go at you personally, but I would totally feel guilty too! However, I wouldn't think I was evil, just an idiot or clumsy or careless. It was the use of the word evil which I thought was an interesting choice. JMO and if guilty of course :)
And you wouldn't start writing " I hurt him on purpose"

I don’t understand how you can accumulate such a massive amount of paperwork in the space of 12-18 months. Certainly not accidentally.

I’m a vet receptionist so handle the pets medical notes, clients personal information, insurance and financial details. There’s no way I could take anything home (or would because.. why? ) but if on the off chance it ever happened, I’d just take it back next shift and get rid of it. I can’t quite understand how she wouldn’t just take them back and dispose of them how she’s supposed to. Even if she did it every few weeks or whatever.

The volume is such a huge amount in such a short period of time I find it really hard to believe it wasn’t on purpose.

Oh don't say that. We'll be here until Christmas.

Yes, well done to them, they've done a very thorough job. I can only imagine the amount of time and effort that went into putting the case together.

The prosecution has put the facts, and their take on them, in each case. The defence has aleady cross-examined the prosecution witnesses. All it can now do is maybe question some new witnesses of its own and Letby herself, with all of these being subject to cross-examination by the prosecution. Then at the end, both the defence and the prosecution barristers will sum up the case with their own spins.

Rather interesting that the defence wanted to re-question the unit manager, but didn't call back doctor choc about his promise to write a statement for her.
