I arrive today at about 3pm, stay overnight and leave tomorrow at about 6.30pm.

Graduation tomorrow afternoon, so if it comes back between 3 and 4pm today, or tomorrow morning, I could be there.

We should all meet in Cockington once the verdict is announced.
I hear the flowers are beautiful this time of year.

I'm not sure about an appeal. There would have to be new evidence I think.
Yes, or a trial irregularity, something like a misdirection from the judge, which would be highly unusual IMO.

I'd better pack a brolly. Thunder storms predicted for Manchester between 3 and 5pm today, possibility of hail. Heavy showers and possibly thunder tomorrow morning.

Quite the dramatic forecast.

Are you camping outside the court?

It's a date. :D

Of course.

I could even be on Sky news. Look out for a tortoise in a pop-up tent, I'll give you a wave.

I've bought a book for the journey, Notes on an Execution. Just to keep things light.

Give yourself a break, go to cockington for a week or sumfin.
Actually I was in Devon last week and saw the road signs for Cockington a couple of times ..I had to giggle to myself..my husband thought I'd gone mad.

Also he came in from work yesterday and had the nerve to say ..oh ! The jury have retired on that nurse case ..did you know ? ....DID I KNOW?

I'm not sure how it works in the UK< but in the States the defense has some latitude and can bring in witnesses in their defense case, in response to what they heard on the stand from the prosecution. IMO,MOO
I wonder whether the defence thought that the prosecution was going to make more of the statistical analysis of when LL was on shift and had a statistician lined up to testify .

How did you respond? ”did I know“? ”I AM THE JURY”!

devons beautiful, went traipsing round Exeter last year and couldn’t recommend it more. Hope you had a good time.

If the graduation is at the university it's in a beautiful building. Enjoy your trip!

Begs the question as to why they would not call their expert/experts. Did they initially intend to? We will hopefully find out after the verdict.
I mean personally IMO it appears that there were either no experts willing to testify, no experts that had an opinion that would help the defence or if there were experts, they were not considered qualified enough by the court to offer their opinion. I fully believe that if BM had any experts to help the case then he would have put them on the stand. The fact there weren’t any for the defense IMO speaks volumes. But again that’s JMO.

What a relief to finally make it to the end of the trial. There were many times throughout the process I was worried the trial would collapse due to jury members dropping out. I’ve been heavily invested in this case since her initial arrest, and have followed this thread since the beginning. It’s been a long & often sad, painful read - I don’t know how the families have managed!

Now, just the (potentially long) wait whilst the jury deliberate. Praying for justice for all those innocent little babies & their families.

I text my husband "jury have retired". He didn't respond. Didn't even like the message the ignoramus

Or what was that other place mentioned? Oh yes, Upperthong. However I see that it's in Yorkshire, so probably not so floral.

I wonder how the jury even started with it all yesterday..I suppose they voted in a foreman...if it was me I think I would have started with the question does anyone think she is not guilty of all charges.
Then maybe work through the ones first that people thought most guilty on ..get them done first sk to speak
