I am hoping and praying that they are all on the same page now and are efficiently moving through the charges. I just hope they can come to unanimous agreement on all of the murder charges and if they cannot do so on all of the ATs, so be it.
I really hope that is the case. Personally I think that if the jury were all sure and in agreement that we would have had a verdict by now. I think that there must be at least one who is unsure on many of the charges to justify it taking this long.

Ok so some of the attempted murder charges are not clear cut and rely on them fitting established patterns. However
judging by the questions the jury asked then they took 6 deliberation days to get to F, and there is only one attempted murder charge (B) in that group. A,C,D and E were all murders and are some of the strongest cases. So why take that long?

I'm worried that the jury don't seem to have records of all the evidence presented over the trial. They asked for the judge's summing up of the case and copies of agreed statements for H and yet were told no. This shouldn't be a memory test, they should have transcripts of all the evidence presented at trial to look back on. Otherwise how on earth can they come to a decision?

It is a huge case and virtually impossible to remember everything...if ever there was a case to allow the judges summary this it ...I know its not allowed but it would have been helpful in such a mammoth case

They can ask for a read-back of any evidence they can't clearly remember. Since they've only asked for child H I don't think it seems as if memory issues are holding them up.

BBM - they asked for the judges summing up which was basically a short run down version of the entire case. IMO the judge’s summing up was not evidence, it was not presented in the evidence stage of the trial, didn’t include all the evidence so should not be considered by the jury when deliberating. It could also be seen as taking an easier option by using that summary, instead of having to go back through all the evidence IMO.

The jury can only consider evidence heard in the evidence stage of the trial. Their request for copies of transcripts of ageeed evidence was denied but they were allowed to have the statements read back to them. IMO notes could have been taken during the trial, anything the jurors thought was an important point should IMO have been noted, that’s the importance of having pens and paper (which someone had to go to wh smiths and purchase when the jury requested them!)

I agree though they should not rely on memory alone, but they do have a mountain of evidence to refer to on their iPads I believe

* realise I have said the word ‘evidence’ far too many times
MOO

They have their own personal notes, iPads and their own recollection of testimony which hopefully they will have made notes of. I am a massive fan of a white board so I think if I were the foreperson I may of asked for one of those but bearing in mind there were no notepads that’s unlikely !
They will get there eventually.

I think whiteboards, or at least one of those boardroom easels with a pad of A3 paper attached would be standard equipment in the jury room. At least we had one in ours.

Agreed. We have been discussing and dissecting this case for literally years and they haven’t had any of that.
I’m braving the supermarket or we will literally starve here. Thankfully it’s full 5g !

Yes the “Good” reason was a juror appointment

What!? They can't appoint a juror at this stage in the game...

Every day they deliberate is a good day, so today is a good day!

Verdict this week, fingers and toes crossed!

LOL the poster means like a doctors appointment or something along those lines. Imagine if they did appoint another juror, 'well I've been reading web sleuths and I can tell you that...'

Before the jury went out, they took an hour to set up a projector and ipad/laptop. So assume they are in effect able to have a whiteboard/flipchart that way

flipchart
Ah that's the word I was looking for :D

I think they need large paper and marker pens for those important points. I know I wouldn't be happy with making notes on an iPad. Just the way my brain is wired.

One would hope so !

LOL, my mistake.

I was going to say if they appointed a new juror it literally needs to be someone who's been on this thread since the get go and no-one less!

You can do that in the ipad. They have pens, you write what you want and it gets projected onto the wall for all to see

It's not happening today is it? I always wonder if after the 1-2 Judge lunch break, that we might get a verdict. But by 2.45pm, I've usually given up hope. Poor families, police, colleagues etc... the waiting is torture for them

They must have sent a note to say they were at a deadlock?
