Yes, which makes it all the more unbelievable that Myers didn't use Dr Lee as an expert witness in baby K's trial, to try to raise doubt over the expert evidence used to convict her in her previous trial. It was a point raised by Nick Johnson KC at the baby K appeal.Dr Lee was a witness called by the defence at the first appeal. He was interviewed about his air embolism rash research. The court of appeal said it there was other evidence pointing to air embolism other then the rash and rejected the appeal.
I don't accept that.
I think he's being portrayed as a gullible fool who's been manipulated by Letby's team. He spent most of the press conference espousing a theory as to the death of one child which was comprehensively examined and dismissed at trial with even the defence accepting that it was not the cause of death.
Clearly he hadn't read the trial documents and was simply parotting what he'd been told to say by MM.
Lol.
What ultimately matters is that Dr. Lee doesn’t want to be linked to the trial resulting in a 32-year-old woman serving 15 life terms behind bars.
To me, it indicates that Dr. Lee, himself, doesn’t feel that the justice is done and doesn’t believe in Lucy Letby’s culpability. He has been to COCH. He doesn’t feel Letby is guilty.
One might explain his acts by some spiritual tendencies, regardless of Dr. Lee’s beliefs. This is my personal feeling. He doesn’t want to be linked with unfairness. But I might be wrong.
However, anyone can see that Dr. Lee doesn’t believe that justice has been served as the result of this trial. End of story.
If I were being very pedantic about it, I'd describe it as her serving fifteen life sentences, each with a Whole Life Order. She's serving fifteen WLO's at the same time.shes not serving fifteen life sentences, shes serving one full one.
your like me and my bus yesterday. I missed it.If I were being very pedantic about it, I'd describe it as her serving fifteen life sentences, each with a Whole Life Order. She's serving fifteen WLO's at the same time.
True that she can only serve it once, though.
Rather arrogant, isn't he. Shows his knowledge of NHS neonatal units is zero.Maybe. But, dr. Lee's message is clear: 1) in Canada, a unit like NICU of COCH would have been closed, and 2) one doesn't need a killer to explain its statistics in 2016-2017.
I was impressed by his resume. But, what we think about Dr. Lee, we can agree to disagree on. His message was not for us.Rather arrogant, isn't he. Shows his knowledge of NHS neonatal units is zero.
IMO.
I’m confused as to why anyone would defend keeping a neonatal unit open when it had hospital wastewater leaking onto the ceiling and backing up into the sinks, requiring weekly call outs. The type of wastewater so dangerous that it can’t even be treated alongside normal domestic sewage.
Hardly arrogant to point out that most developed countries would consider this such a severe hazard that they would take immediate steps to remove the patients from the area. This hospital didn’t even bother to record the numerous issues.
Scandalous.
I would also bet my house on Letby blocking sinks during her time there as a little back up for when she needed to suggest that some of the deaths were down to sanitation, also if you read the article I have linked the weekly call outs were for the whole building not the NICU.
No babies died due to plumbing issues at the CoCH
They died at the hands of Letby.

The plumber testified he was called out weeklyI do not recall anything about weekly call outs ? Certainly not with any severity?
Most UK hospitals have quite large maintenance departments that are constantly busy... from electrical, plumbing, pest control, ceiling problems, floods etc etc.
Luckily none of the babies were shown to be affected physically by plumbing issues...and if issues were severe the infection control department would have it temporarily closed very quickly
It's already been appealed.I think the fact all the major outlets are now stating their positions, and the reality that there is now a whole lot of reasonable doubt surrounding this case, is very interesting and a sign of things to come. I have absolutely no doubt this will be referred to the court of appeal, as it should.
