Yes to leave no trace whatsoever is what is really making me question the whole dismemberment in the bathroom.

If there is no evidence to support the theory that Becky was in there (aside from NMs say so) how do we know she actually was??

Is it possible that NM is saying it was the bathroom simply because then it would be believable that one person could do the dismemberment on their own ?
Whereas if he told us the real location where he did it, it would be obvious that two people were required ?
For instance, if the loft was the place used, then no way would he have got the body up there on his own.

I dont btw believe the above, I do think the bathroom was used. The expert said it was strange not to find anything but it still could have been done there and all traces cleared away.
If I remember correctly, in the case of April Jones, the forensics were into Bridgers cottage two days later. In this case the forensic search was 9 - 10 days later. A lot of cleaning can be done in that time.

unless they were protected with plastic sheeting / sacks
The whole room would have had to have been taped up. Surely there would have been some evidence of this Ie tape residue somewhere within the room...

#BeckyWatts trial: DNA could have been transferred because SH lived with NM according to witness

I've bought rubble sacks before and the ones I bought were smaller than black bin liners (about half the size) but much thicker and they were bright blue rather than black. They don't rip as easily as black bin liners do, infact you'd probably have to cut them with something sharp rather than rip one.

If they bought them from Asda they were likely these ones. 1120mm x length 660mm

very heavy duty bags.

And the fact that the bathroom was spotless when they found it would indicate that the did do an extensive clean up in there. It's just so difficult to believe that these two morons could execute such an efficient clean up IMO

DNA found on dust mask compatible with SH handling it but could've transferred from another item, says expert

What the heck are good and bad shedders?

Good point. Has NM ever worked as a cleaner?

I guess the presence of DNA isn't that helpful if the crime has taken place in a place like their home, where the accused's DNA would be anyway. How frustrating!

I did ponder whether SH's newly reunited family could have helped but it looks like it was probably all done (except the removal) before she contacted them. Looks like SH and NM just got "lucky".

Very good point, but a frustrating one. I wonder if the DNA profile was stronger whether they could say unequivocally that SH had been in contact with certain items?

exactly. that's what I thought about NM/SH DNA if it was found in Becky's bedroom. They went in there under the pretence of looking for her and probably rooting through everything so they could say which items were missing if any.

Think it refers to how easily DNA is transferred from a person e.g a good shedder might have flaky skin or something

It's tricky isn't it, by virtue of the family trying to locate her they were actually contaminating the crime scene :(

I know I shouldn't laugh but that's such a funny term!

Paraphrasing UK & Eire database for all crimes against children fb- ex of transfer

good shedder shakes hands with bad shedder, cells transfer to bad shedder, bad shedder touches something else and deposits good shedder cells without leaving their own.

Thing is the bathroom wasn't spotless. The bath was clean but that's about all. There was still a grotty carpet on the floor and all sorts of other debris in there.

I also wonder if it would help to explain if the same could be said about NM's DNA results. ie. If he hadn't already admitted to it would the DNA results confirm that he did use the mask or would they be able to argue his DNA might just be there innocently too?
