Single parent who was actually living with the father of her child and was expecting two more children by him.

Off topic, but I hope she gets done for benefit fraud. People like her are the reason there is so much hate of anyone on benefits. It doesn't help the genuine claimants who get labelled as scroungers, when people like this screw the system instead of making the effort to support themselves, let alone lie to claim more money.

Sorry, but it makes me mad when genuine single parents are threatened with cuts to the benefits they receive because they go out to work and try to support themselves.
Do we know as fact that Shauna was claiming benefits as a single parent?

I know Nathan has given a different address to the court but that doesn't necessarily mean she's not informed benefits about him being there.

SH 3rd police video. Looks a bit worse for wear.

Did I hear incorrectly or does the police officer mistakenly call her becky at the end? Shocking if so.

Is it just me, or does anyone else get the impression that she breaks down because she is assessing how this is all affecting HER and not what happened to Becky?

Also, when the policewoman says that just because there isn't direct DNA evidence on Becky, it doesn't mean she wasn't there ...... SH pretty much changes the subject rather than answering. She immediately talks about how she couldn't look at NM in court and felt sick after seeing him. She didn't attempt to justify why she wasn't involved or make a great effort to explain how she wasn't there.

Maybe at a nursery? I'm not familiar with childcare, but don't parents get "free hours" of nursery in the UK?

Only once your child turns three years old.

So I was correct :) when shauna was quoted in a tweet yesterday that she "couldn't look at him" - she says in the video - in court yesterday? I couldn't look at him - so they did appear in court together!

Yes, my take was it is all about her...there is a post on here ( cant remember how far back now ) where someone highlighted the various comments SH made in earlier interviews and again, it is all about her.

I sometimes wish we had televised trials like in the states but on the other hand, it's hard enough keeping up on here :D

The grant funding for 3 year olds everybody gets. Some children get it from 2 if they are classed as being in need of it. You can get it for being on benefits or a child with some disabilities might get it.

Yes, I noted that. SH was referring to when they were in court

ETA - it was suggested that her saying that was in some way proof that she'd been involved after the fact as "when would she gave seen him if they've been arrested"

I'm not in any way blaming the police for anything here, but I still find it staggering that N&S's house and car weren't searched until the 6th day (day 1 being Thursday). As I've said before, one sniff of that car boot with a cadaver dog would have busted them immediately. I know the police didn't know until Friday, and I know they attempted to get access on Monday, but even still, as N&S admitted being in the house when Becky disappeared I'd have thought they'd have done a compulsory routine search.

I don't know, I think her reaction is pretty genuine in this video, particularly if you're 18 weeks pregnant and you're discussing how the father of your children has admitted killing a young girl.

I agree that NM taking the stand can't do anything to hurt him. His primary motivation may well still be to protect SH so that one of them can keep their child so he may in fact do what he can to back up her assertions regarding his abusive behaviour towards her.

But if his story doesn't add up he may end up doing the opposite.
