Out of curiousity in a case like this especially with covid who pays the Jurors wages? the government or the employers?

I thought she said he was a lorry driver....and that if he was a policeman it was before she was born unless something happened to her and she blocked it out of her head? This is why i couldnt be on the Jury nothing makes sense. How do you work out whose telling the truth and who isnt when you are even told to ignore the policemans testimony?

Could he have been an undercover officer?, that would explain why his daughter didn't think he was police. Maybe his conviction was because he got too involved in his uc life?, like the fella who had a child with the environmentalist from the group he had infiltrated?. Obviously complete speculation and not presented as fact at all.

yeah but she said it was before she was born if he was one at all whereas her brother said something different. I mean the kids lived together or until he went into Jail i think. The sisters testimony just seemed a bit odd all around really

She was also the one who told him someones name to try and get home with which was weird. (from Portugal)

<modsnip>

Also, why didn’t the murder appear on Crimewatch at the time in 1994/1995? Did the police not carry out a a lot of appeals?

I suppose to be fair rightly or wrongly there was no need to do one at the beginning as they believed Ruth did it but one of the sisters did go on Crime Watch a few years ago.

I was just thinking about this as its a good point but...considering James went into care when he was 12 I think and she was three years older surely that would all have come out in court if he had been undercover?

I was thinking (imo) his dad maybe abused him?

"He said his intention was to visit his father who lived on the estate.

But his father never got a visit from him that day, jurors heard.

‘Why wouldn’t you visit him?’ Mr Price asked.

‘I would often go with the intention of visiting my dad but not go,’ Watson replied.

‘I don’t think it’s relevant but...because it takes me to a place I would rather not go"

Anyone else get that vibe?

Yes I do 100%. What kind of abuse..I am not sure but...I do kind of wonder and would make other things make more sense ;(

I'm not suprised!

Honestly I am not. Yes I think he possibly did it but could I convict him beyond all reasonable doubt? No I couldnt unless I ignored the policemans testimony

Nothing on today??

It was adjourned til 10 am so...should been on. Could be they just havent updated it ...they dont seem great who does that tbh. Yesterday it said it was adjourned til 00.00 and other times it says court is adjourned after a minute without saying the jury has gone out again...the rate this is going who knows ;( You would think they would want it sorting before Easter though :(
