Diary entry: 'I’m going to be involved heaven help me'

The court hears of a diary entry from August 2015 in which Katrina Walsh says she texted her ex-husband Kevin about Sarah Williams wanting to speak to him about “something nefarious.”

Mrs Walsh said: “He guessed she might want to have someone killed.”

She adds: “Wow, I may get to be instrumental in helping remove the awful woman!

“This may happen! Wow.”

However three days later she wrote: “Kev not going for the idea of being a hitman after all.

“Sarah coming round an we could plot to take the bint out as Kev was a bust on it.

“I’m going to be involved heaven help me.”

She added: “I have no moral qualms, just a serious don’t get caught twinge.”

In September 2015 there was a reference to thoughts of a hit on a motorbike.

Diary entry: 'All the excitement of plotting the perfect murder'

DC Midgley says some pages in the diaries had been ripped out and others appeared to have been rubbed out and written over.

In December 2015 there is an entry about Katrina Walsh and Sarah Williams’ trip to Germany, where the prosecution allege they bought the stun gun.

It reads: “So will get a trip to Germany out of this. Took ages to wind down, all the excitement of plotting the perfect murder.”

The originals are now being passed to the jury for them to hold and look at.

Thanks so much for the updates Alyce and Tortoise, really appreciate your hard work.

It would be v interesting (and informative) to read all the texts between Sarah W and Ian J as we really only hear what she has told other people about their affair.
An obsessive woman, as she appears to be from what's reported, could be in total fantasy land. I wonder if IJ will take the stand?

If I were IJ I think I would want to take the stand and put my side of the story, because from where I'm lookin, right now, he isn't being portrayed in a very good light.

This article gives a bit more detail to the exchange of texts that we heard about today, between IanJ and Williams.

I really am beginning to dislike this man. He was ok about getting involved with Williams, despite being in a relationship with Sadie - but then seems to be blaming Williams for getting involved with him, when she knew he had a girlfriend. Er, it works both ways doesnt it.



Johnston said: 'You knew that I was seeing Sadie when this all started. What did you expect? I can't just have you presented as someone new when everyone knows Sadie. It's not about you. It's about me. Sorry.'

In a long ranting reply, Williams replied that she 'must be very stupid' because she is struggling to 'grasp' that she won't get 'the relationship or love that I need no matter how hard I try'.

She wrote: 'I shouldn't be feeling like this and sobbing my heart out over you. You don't want me and probably never will. I'm sorry for caring for you, I'm sorry for caring about you, I'm sorry for bothering you. I'm sorry I fell in love with you.'

The pair then argued about how William's older boyfriend, David Hardwick, 75, 'finances' her lifestyle – to which she told him that she doesn't have sex with him for money, she just wants Mr Johnston.

But he refused to break up with Mrs Hartley and wrote that he was not simply going to 'blow her out'.

He replied: 'You are persistent but you don't want to listen to me. I've told you that I'm in a relationship with Sadie. You knew that before this started.

It does go towards explaining why IJ and Sadie's relationship didn't appear to be that stable. It's still unclear to me how long they were actually living together, and if he was committed to Sadie. There was mention of problems because his mother had died, but maybe that's just an excuse he gave her.

It seems he was stringing both women along, not wanting to entirely give up SW, and possibly not having altogether honourable reasons for being with Sadie either. His feelings for Sadie were described in quite luke warm terms.

If he's been in court (as pictures show him turning up) I doubt he'll be giving evidence.

My feeling is probably not as a witness waiting, because the Prosecution would give him an indication of when he would be called, definitely not expect him to hang around outside for 5 days.

Sept 2014 - KW diary entry - Sarah came round - got caught up in endless murder plots for Ian's other half
Nov 2014 - IJ moved in with Sadie

May 2015 - SW spots a picture of IJ wearing a top she had bought him
Jun 2015 & Aug 2015 - more diary entries referencing murder plot - KW's ex-husband refuses to be their hitman
Aug 2015 - Sadie's house burgled
Summer 2015 - SW and IJ meet again at a funeral and contact resumed
Dec 2015 - trip to Germany to buy stun gun
During party at Christmas 2015 - tracker is fixed to IJ's car
After party at Christmas 2015 - SW tells friend that relationship is progressing

To be accurate, they reveal that SW has said so. I think caution is needed over anything she said that he said, where there is no other evidence.
