Sorry, it's all there is. At least we might get to find out when the prosecution has closed its case, and expect to hear from the defendants.

Hopefully the media may pick up interest again when the defence starts.

 • #465
It's strange that there is not even a write up in the media at the end of each day - or week even !

I am also following the India Chipchase case, trial began on Monday, and that is the same. No live feed but at least the papers are doing a summary ( well they did yesterday )

Finally, an update - not sure that this is today's evidence, but at least it is some new witness information.

The prosecution at Preston Crown Court say the defendant ( Williams ) was obsessed with ex-fireman Mr Johnston, 57, who was said to have jilted her after she became possessive and difficult.

Crystal Ski sales manager Colin Pye said he recalled Williams speaking about a man named Ian to other members of staff last year.

In a statement read to the court, he said: “I got the impression it was not a full-on relationship but she seemed very intense about it.

“The way she talked about it was like a besotted teenager. She would not shut up about it.”

Williams had worked in the shop for a couple of years after previously visiting as a customer with her partner, 75-year-old David Hardwick, to book holidays.

Mr Pye said staff earned commission on sales and Williams was a top performer.

“Sarah was good at her job. Quite determined, sometimes she could be a bit too determined,” he said.

“Sarah has a strong personality. She can be quite loud and verbal, and can have a bee in her bonnet if things don’t go her own way.”

The jury was told that on January 14 this year - the day of the murder - Williams arrived at work about noon but soon after went “scuttling” to the toilet.
Mr Pye said he sent her home ill during the afternoon.

Williams, who owns a home in Leasowe, but whose address in court was given as Treborth Road, Blacon, Chester , denies murder and claims she was ill in bed at home.

A woman accused of murdering Sadie Hartley had an affair with another skiing instructor who was a married dad-of-two, a court has been told.

Sarah Williams, 35, got into a sexual relationship with Somapat Sitiwatjana, 47, after he coached her at the Chill Factore indoor ski centre in Trafford Park five years ago.

Thai-born Mr Sitiwatjana, who runs a martial arts gym, said he broke off his relationship with Williams after she 'got too close'.

His wife of 25 years, Janet, found out he had been unfaithful when Miss Williams visited the family home while he was away in Thailand in 2012, Preston Crown Court heard.

A letter was also sent to Mrs Sitiwatjna at around the same time.

The witness said he and Miss Williams would meet up in hotels for sex but he did not see it as a serious relationship.

He described how Miss Williams went on to turn up unannounced at his gym in Manchester and park outside in her car.

More testimony from Mr Sitiwatjna

He agreed with Gordon Cole QC, defending Miss Williams, that he had told Miss Williams he loved her 'many, many times' in text messages and that they called each other 'sweetie'.

Some of the texts were also 'very graphic sexual texts', he agreed.

Mr Sitiwatjana also said he could not recall asking Williams to send photographs of her to him.

He said he did not remember either being in text message and WhatsApp contact with Williams while he was in Thailand and then again in October 2012.

Williams certainly seems to have a particular MO !! and the men she attaches herself to all seem to have very poor recall

Just adding this article ( the evidence is from earlier in the trial ) as it has a bit more info re David Hardwick and also the money given to Williams by Walsh.

David Hardwick, 75, said he "could not believe it" when he was informed that Williams, 35, had been arrested on suspicion of murder and told a jury he had never known her to be physically violent.
Mr Hardwick told Williams's murder trial at Preston Crown Court that he was unaware of the affair said to be have been taking place while she was living an affluent lifestyle, largely at his expense.

The semi-retired heating firm boss admitted he paid for a string of holidays - up to 12 a year - as well as giving her £75,000 towards buying a house and paying £320 a week into her bank account by standing order.

Williams learned to ski at Chill Factore - where she is said to have met ski instructor Mr Johnston - and a relucant Mr Hardwick, who said he felt "too old" to learn, joined her.
The pair went on to take regular skiing holidays, including a three-month stay in Calgary, Canada, in late 2013.

Other expenses that Mr Hardwick took care of for Williams were life assurance, credit card payments and fuel purchases, the court heard.

The court heard that Williams had three houses in total and rented out two of them - one said to have been paid for thanks to a loan of £43,000 from Walsh.

Thai-born Mr Sitiwatjana, who runs a martial arts gym, said he broke off his relationship with Williams after she 'got too close'.

His wife of 25 years, Janet, found out he had been unfaithful when Williams visited the family home while he was away in Thailand in 2012, Preston Crown Court heard.

A letter was also sent to Mrs Sitiwatjna at around the same time.
The witness said he and Williams would meet up in hotels for sex but he did not see it as a serious relationship.
John McDermott QC, prosecuting, asked: 'Did there come a time when she wanted it to be a serious relationship?'
Mr Sitiwatjana said: 'She wanted to see more and more of me.'

The prosecutor said: 'Did you want that to happen?'
He replied: 'No, because I have my own business to run and I have my own family.'
Asked why he decided to end the affair, he said: 'She got too close.'
He said he returned to the UK from Thailand in September 2012 and he and his wife 'talked it over'.
He described how Williams went on to turn up unannounced at his gym in Manchester and park outside in her car.
Mr Sitiwatjana said she would drive off quickly when he spotted her, but on one occasion he asked why she was there and Williams told him she was seeing a friend.
He recalled an incident where all four tyres of his Mercedes Benz car were deflated in the Chill Factore car park.

Mr Sitiwitjana said he did not have a lot of enemies.
He agreed with Gordon Cole QC, defending Williams, that he had told Williams he loved her 'many, many times' in text messages and that they called each other 'sweetie'.
Some of the texts were also 'very graphic sexual texts', he agreed.
He denied that Williams's then partner, 75-year-old businessman David Hardwick, was the cause of arguments between the pair during their affair.
Mr Cole said: 'You had a view of David, that he was her 'sugar daddy'?'
The witness replied: 'Yes, sir.'
Mr Cole said: 'And she didn't like you using that phrase?'
Mr Sitiwatjana said: 'I don't remember.'

Mr Cole said: 'She would correct you when you used that phrase about David. She would say "Don't say that, don't use that phrase"?'
The witness said: 'I don't remember.'
Mr Sitiwatjana also said he could not recall asking Williams to send photographs of her to him.
He said he did not remember either being in text message and WhatsApp contact with Williams while he was in Thailand and then again in October 2012.
Mr Cole asked: 'Did you ever see her again and restart your relationship in May and June of 2013?'
Mr Sitiwatjana replied: 'No, sir.'

Wow, she really went after the older/richer men didn't she!

From that Mail article I'm thinking the case is still with the prosecution.

Reading the MEN article yesterday I was trying to think of reasons why SS would be called as a defence witness. The best I could come up with was that SW was capable of a pattern of obsessive/stalking behaviour towards married/in a relationship men without murdering their wives/partners. Not really a great defence.

Does anyone know for sure where the case is at?

i agree, this definitely sounds like Prosecution witnesses. I had thought it must be on to Defence by now, as it seems so long since we had any updates, but looks as though the Prosecution have plenty more to say.

Mrs Sitiwatjana told the court she found out her husband had been unfaithful when Williams, a customer sales adviser at Crystal Ski Holidays - based at the Chill Factore - visited her home when he was away in Thailand in May 2012.
A letter from Williams disclosing 'full chapter and verse' about the relationship was later delivered by hand to her home, the court heard.

The letter began: 'Dear Janet, I think you should know about the sort of 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 you are married to...'
Williams wrote that she had been in a relationship with Mr Sitiwatjana for more than a year and they were 'absolutely in love with each other', the jury was told.
References were made to text messages that were 'explicit in the extreme' and that the lovers were 'seeing each other a couple of times a week, texting incessantly and making love whenever we could'.
Another reference was made to Mr Sitiwatjana being 'a liar, cheat and a total 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬' as the sender wrote: 'I told him to stop it. I warned him I would blow him out of the water if he continued. Now it's time for him to pay the price.'
In September 2012, Mrs Sitiwatjana reported Williams to the police with claims that she was harassing her with unwanted texts and visits to her home, where she would 'stare' at her from a car parked on the other side of the road.
