I am finding it difficult to see Beinash as a downtrodden wife . I suspect she could give as good as she got.

Oh absolutely.
From the evidence we have heard, she didn't hold back with verbal abuse towards the children and certainly doesn't give the impression of being in any way downtrodden. That statement she made in Pakistan, when she called Sara's killing an incident. She came across as very cold and very much in control.

So we now know that
Caroline Carberry KC is defending Beinash Batool
Naeem Mian KC is defending Urfan Sharif
Who is defending the uncle?

The uncle was allegedly studying at Portsmouth University - I doubt it! He was working at McDonalds in Woking...how could he possibly be miles away at a Uni in Portsmouth?
Did I read somewhere that his DNA was on the bat or some instrument used to hurt Sara?

In UK, Council housing (i.e., government funded housing given to poor families) is based on, among other factors, the number of children. The number of children in a family helps determine the size of the property a family is entitled to. Councils use guidelines (like the bedroom entitlement rules) to decide how many bedrooms a family should have. For example, two children of the same gender may be expected to share a bedroom, or two children under 10, regardless of gender, might also share.

As a taxi driver and a stay at home wife, the house must be council provided (imo). It must be 3-4 bedrooms. Perhaps Sharif and Batool in one, Uncle and brother in 2nd bedroom and the rest of the kids in 3rd bedroom. Perhaps that is why, despite not really caring for children, Batool had children? IMOO (it is not unheard of - I know of such cases).

They both deserve each other.
"The pot calling the kettle black" hehehe
Couple made in hell.

Honestly,
I'm looking forward to seeing Defence Lawyers "butting heads" trying to defend their clients.

Dan Taylor has been instructed to defend Faisal Malik

He is still a junior. He does not appear to be as high profile as Urfan and Beinash's barristers.

Agree about FM. The student visa and registration at Portsmouth would probably be used as an excuse to get into the UK.

The house is Council rental and is a 3 bed. Very crowded for three adults and six children.

He could have engaged in online studies.
After Covid, it is now normal practice in Higher Education for those who ask for it.

He was seen frequently in the house by a neighbour.

If he came using a student visa,
he must have been checked by authorities, no?

Simple registration at Uni and then vanishing would surely not be possible?

After all,
students must pass tests, take exams, etc.

I would imagine as you state Dotta it was online for at least part of the course maybe college in person every so often .
From the failures from Authorities we have heard in Sara's case I highly doubt the Authorities check to see if students on visas attend uni tbh unfortunately

Well, you would hope that things have been tightened up somewhat since the London Met scandal.

Edit: Woking is 52 miles from Portsmouth, but the University of Portsmouth has a London campus, where Business & Management is one of the courses taught. Still, Walthamstow is quite a commute from Woking - 42 miles in the other direction.

It can't have been an entirely online course as the only 100% distance learning business courses that Portsmouth do are doctorates.

The fact that he was apparently studying there, but didn't live within a reasonable distance of any of their campuses doesn't smell right to me.

Why, oh why did none of these witnesses who heard shouting, screaming, cursing and banging not report this? If they DID (but it doesn't appear so at this point) why wasn't something done to protect this poor child? I sense yet another Public Enquiry where 'lessons will be learned'. Except they're NOT, are they?
Stop the mentality of not wanting to 'get involved'.
The welfare of the child is paramount.

Having a cigarette with urfan too during all that sickened me . The famous get out clause "lessons will be learned " whichever person in government came up with that must have a sore back from all the slapping . I think I'm more annoyed with the neighbour than I am with the authorities.

I agree. It is more than possible that he put Portsmouth on his visa ,but never turned up. Or that Urfan just made it up when speaking to the neighbour.

This Herald I found today is great!

Some new info:

About shouting/screaming/
effing (the new word I learnt here)

"Mr Emlyn Jones asked:
'Did you ever hear the adult male voice in this way or at all?'

Ms R. replied: 'No'.

(Sorry folks, I shorten witnesses' surnames to the first letter as this is a public forum)

Ms Carberry
(step"mother's" Defence)
asserted the 'raised voices' came from both a man and a woman
and it was Sharif who said the word 'c...t'.

The witness replied:
'I know the way that person speaks
and it was Beinash Batool that said these words'."

Phew!

Handing urfans defence a golden ticket right there . This witness should have just kept her mouth shut imo she seemed to have no problem keeping it that way when Sara needed her to be her voice

I will have no cushions or pillows left after this trial from punching and screaming into them from frustration

Dotta thanks for this
My question and it is something from the article that jumped out at me why would a child or adult have deep purple scaring around the pelvic area ?
I imagine it would be bruising from being hit /kicked or pushed and hitting an object.

This link gives an insight into bruising and injuries indicative of abuse . It does mention bruising on inner thigh and doesn't specify which type of abuse
