Honestly,
I have a feeling I'm in a "mad house".
All are guilty: a son & wives
and a certain guy is "whiter than a lily".
Please, wake me up from this nightmare

I expected something more intelligent from defence.

Probably worse to come too. I do feel sorry for the jury.

Just my own imagination following on from todays report:

In a household with 3 adults and 6 children of various ages I am imagining a conversation whereby, upon discovery that one of the children is severely injured and dying, one of the adults (SM) communicates to another adult (Father) that it is in fact the oldest child who is responsible for the injured child’s situation.

Conversations follow, solutions are sought. But no questions are asked.

It is suggested that, when the inevitable happens and the child dies, the best plan is that they should flee to Pakistan to protect the oldest child from the law. SM tells lies - that she has observed this oldest child apparently brutally fighting with the dying child for months. This is news to the Father. He is in shock. He has never seen any injuries on the child - no bruises, no bites, no signs of pain, no soiled clothing, no blood on the floor, no bats or belts or ropes. The dying child has never asked for help, never seen in distress. It is a complete surprise to Father that this ‘incident’ has happened in this small, crowded environment full of people.

The oldest child does not say anything in their own defence.
Does not say ‘It wasn’t me Dada - it was Uncle or SM. It was X or Y or Z. I will not take the blame for killing someone. I will not stand accused like this’

Do they not protest? Offer an alternative version of events?

The father, or any of the other adults, does not appear to question the oldest child about what happened to cause this situation. No How. No Why. No questions are asked at all. Father just believes the SM version. He does not love her sometimes. She has attacked him before so he knows her to be capable of violence but still he believes everything she says. He does not think ‘this cannot be so’. It is so. They must just leave - all of them.

The child dies. The family leave the body in bed overnight and book one-way flights to Pakistan. They pack up their lives and run away from their smart home, their jobs and education. The father leaves a note confessing to killing the child. ‘I beat her up too much’ ‘she was naughty’. He does this to protect the child who he believes is responsible. After a long flight, he calls 999 to report the death and confesses once again, despite still not having questioned who is responsible for the death of his child. He just believes the SM version of events when everyone in that household lived their lives surrounded and observed by each other.

Of course. SMH

Mind you,
The abuse had been taking place for at least 2 years according to Prosecution.
The boy was 11 then.

So...
According to defence of U.
an 11 year old was torturing a sister and NOBODY saw anything.

Her bones were fractured,
she was covered in bruises, bitten, etc.
and Daddy Dearest didn't know
"what was happening in his own house"
and that his own 11-13 year old son must have been a psychopath to do such abnormal and horrific things -
according to U's defence.

Her collarbone was broken, her spine was fractured,
she was beaten with a belt,
a metal pole,
she was strangled with hyoid bone damaged.

Daddy didn't notice
so he didn't intervene and take the girl to the doctor.

Ummm....

Tell it to the Marines...
Are there any Marines in the Court?

……. Snipped from link above:

Sharif claimed today that Batool 'beat me up' prior to Sara's death.

He told the Old Bailey that Batool had lied to him and social services falsely claiming that she had twins with a previous partner.

Sharif said Batool sent birthday cards and showed him photographs of the twins, but he later learnt the children did not exist.

He accused Batool of slapping him in the face on one occasion and claimed she had lied for years about her previous relationship with a drug dealer…..

………
The Old Bailey heard that Sharif had previously fought for custody of Sara after accusing his ex-wife Olga Sharif of abusing her.

Social services intervened following allegations of 'domestic violence and child abuse' around 2019.

Sharif told jurors that he enrolled in a domestic violence course, nutrition, first aid and 'dad discipline' parenting course after being accused of domestic violence and controlling and coercive behaviour by his ex-wife.

But Guildford Family Court decided to award Sharif full custody in October 2019 after Sharif claimed Sara's mother Olga was responsible.

Sharif told jurors: 'I have never been violent'.

Snipped from link:

Giving evidence, Mr Sharif said he had never bitten, burnt or beaten Sara.

He also told the court he had previously completed voluntary courses titled Parenting Puzzle and Dad Discipline, as well as paediatrician and nutrition courses.

He said he did a five-day St John Ambulance first aid course, in which he was taught CPR.

Mr Sharif said Sara was a “beautiful angel, lovely, bubbly”, and wanted to be a ballet dancer when she was older.

He told the court he had slapped Sara on a few occasions.

“I have lots of flaws in my life, but I never beat her. Never,” he added.

He also denied “controlling” his wife Ms Batool, stating that they had a traditional relationship – he worked and she was the “boss” at home.

Mr Sharif claimed that in 2016, Ms Batool had hit him on the head with a wooden lemon squeezer when he first wanted to leave and on another occasion attacked him with a broom.

Seems urfan has a pattern of twisting the truth in the court of law . Seemly he claims olga was the domestic abuser ,now its batool and apparently his children too . Jesus wept !! If the lies weren't so transparent you would almost feel sorry for the man (sic)
maybe I've already made my judgement that he is guilty as sin but there is no way on this planet urfan is the victim and was unaware of Sara's injuries. Did the expert not state that Sara's injuries would have been visible to all who lived in the house . Imo he is a manipulative liar and regardless of whether bienash is equally as guilty she certainly didn't act in secret or alone .

I really hope urfan does not escape justice and is given a lenient sentence along the lines of allowing the death of a child or absconding from the scene of a crime I will literally cry my heart out if he gets off

I'm beginning to think that the trio need psychiatric evaluation.

I wasn't sure what to expect
but certainly not this.
My poor jaw is constantly on the floor.
And my eyes hurt from rolling.
Jeez!

The anger I'm feeling toward this man is unlike any I have felt in previous cases . His defence of victimhood is insulting to anyone with intelligence.

There are Men who are victims of DV and it took a long time for that to be recognised without the attachment of shame being felt . Men have spoken on this stating they felt ashamed to come forward as the world views Men as masculine and strong and therefore would not be the victim of DV by a woman . How dare urfan use this as an excuse it is a crime against real victims

Some of Sara's injuries would have taken considerable force to inflict. Would a 13 year old be strong enough to repeatedly hit a 10 year across the back with such force that there are ten separate injuries to the spine and two broken shoulder blades? Surely only an adult would be physically capable of that.

I don't think she can, unless she appears as a defence witness for one of the other defendants. The prosecution has delivered their case. I don't think they get to introduce new witnesses after the defence has presented their cases.

Snipped from link above:

Jurors heard that Sara went to live with her father after he had an acrimonious split from her biological mother, Olga.

During the resulting custody battle allegations “flew around” on both sides, the court was told.

Sharif said he had met his ex-wife online in 2009 and they broke up around 2014.

He alleged that his former wife had “bitten” another child and “abused” Sara during and after their marriage.
(BBM)

Of allegations she levelled at him, he said: “She did accuse me of having an affair with Beinash. She accused me of being controlling. She made accusations of domestic violence and child abuse.

“I was arrested once. When I was arrested I took off my shirt and showed them, actually it was me that was abused by her. Olga admits she was violent towards me.”

His pleads weren't loud enough were they ?? Poor abused urfan (extreme sarcasm) what I wouldn't do for 10 mins in a room with a baseball bat and a certain someoneIMO cricket bat, pole, rope, iron, boiling water, biting, starvation, neckbone-breaking ligature and extreme verbal abuse? Or as he would call it "slapping". It's all too much. I wish we could just fastforward to the sentencing JMO

IMO: He let slip that he believes in "legally beating" little kids. There's no way that neanderthal doesn't believe in hurting his wives. Also another reason to tread carefully on dating sites.

Awww...poor U was hit by a wooden lemon squeezer?!!! Did that hurt you, U? A big man like you???!! [needless to say - I am being very very very sarcastic]

But a cricket bat (that has his DNA) on a little child and the huge catalogue of injuries that led to little Sara's death - oh, that was just an incident!!!!!

Seriously!!!
I hope the jury are making this comparison!

And of course it does not cross his mind to "legally punish" the son, who has been VERY "naughty" indeed. No. That is reserved for weaker female children who hide keys and tear documents.

Apologies if this has been previously posted- I find this interesting, given the character of the defendant on show today (MOO)

Snipped from link above:

Wednesday, October 23
……The family said Ms Spencer usually dressed in Western-style clothing, and that they spoke English in the house. Ms Spencer moved out of her property in October 2020 and the property was rented by Chloe Redwin.

A warning was given by the judge after Ms Spencer was approached during a break whilst part
heard. Enquiries are ongoing to identify who approached her.

(BBM)
……….cont.

…………

Ms Redwin told the court that another adult man moved in the house in December 2022, who she
later learned was Urfan Sharif’s brother. She said that he didn’t go out very much.

In January 2023, Ms Redwin told the court that she saw Sara wearing a hijab. When she asked Urfan Sharif and Beinash Batool about it, they said Sara wanted to explore her Muslim faith.

During Ms Redwin’s evidence, Urfan Sharif was given a warning by the judge after he left the court without asking for permission. ………. Cont.

1) what’s going on here? (In bold)
2) So it looks like Uncle didn’t live at Hammond Road after all

There is no inference as far as I can tell that Sara's brother is in anyway being blamed for the long term physical abuse of Sara. Something 'happened' on the 8th of August and, according to Sharif, Batool told him Sara's brother was responsible for that 'incident' and would go to prison for it if they remained in the UK. So what did Batool say happened I wonder?
