Curiouser & Curiouser

"Mr Sharif told a jury at the Old Bailey on Thursday
that Ms Batool forced him to slap his daughter.

He went on to say that Ms Batool would blame Sara
'for everything'.

'That poor girl always been accused by that psycho sitting there, that psycho sitting there,
she always accused my daughter',
said Mr Sharif.

He denied beating Sara,
but said:

'I have slapped her,
multiple times and it's only because

I was made to'."

"Father of Sara Sharif says his wife is
an animal’ and a ‘psycho’
and again blames her
for the murder and torture of the ten-year-schoolgirl."

Ummm...
Didn't he say yesterday that he loved B and bought her gold jewellery as a sign of his devotion?
Go figure...
Maybe the hoods were for urfan so he wouldn't" see " Sara being beaten by bienash and I'd love to know what methods she used to force urfan to slap his daughter. Maybe she used the wooden lemon juicer to squeeze him into submission .
I know what I'd like to see squeezed so the truth could be told.

If he was so innocent why didn't he stay with his daughters dead body .

It's swings and roundabouts with urfan one minute it's his son that caused the incident that killed Sara next it bienash is the cruel stepmum/ wife who abused everyone in the house . I suppose the uncles defence is that he was locked in the outhouse day and night by bienash and didn't see or hear a thing and he was frightened she would kill him and she didn't allow him attend university and Sara ripped up his college books Their defence is a farce and makes a mockery of Sara's memory

On the day of her death, Sara did the laundry but she never did ironing because she was “too young” and it was “dangerous”, he said. Sharif wept in court as he described an incident days earlier when he returned home and found his daughter with her arms bound behind her back with packaging tape in the television room.

Batool was “shocked” to see him, Sharif said: “I screamed. I was angry, I was annoyed. She, Sara, was terrified. She was scared. She didn’t say much. I hugged her, I kissed her, then me and Beinash went into the kitchen. She apologised to me and she promised that she wouldn’t do it again. And even after those days, I was that stupid that I believed her.”

He said he cut his daughter free using a knife from the kitchen. Mr Mian asked why he did not call the police, saying: “Your daughter, the girl you have fought for custody of, at home has her arms tied behind her back with packaging tape?”

The defendant said he had been “an idiot” and should had called the police. Mr Mian said: “According to you, you just caught her red-handed. This is your daughter.”

Sharif said: “She (Batool) apologised. I’ve been wrong for a long long time.”

A stepmother accused of killing Sara Sharif tied the 10-year-old’s hands behind her back with tape for being naughty, a court has heard.

Sara’s body was found with dozens of injuries at the family’s home in Woking, Surrey, last year, the Old Bailey was told.

Her father Urfan Sharif, 42, stepmother Beinash Batool, 30, and uncle, Faisal Malik, 29, have denied murder.

Giving evidence, Mr Sharif told jurors he returned home unexpectedly to find a “terrified” Sara with her hands tied with packing tape.
Warning: This article features distressing details
He told the court that Ms Batool was “shocked” to see him home during the incident in late June or early July last year, a matter of weeks before Sara was found dead.

Asked what his wife told him had happened, he said: “Beinash said that, ‘she’d been naughty, so I tied her hands so that she does not hurt herself’."

Asked what his reaction was, Mr Sharif told the court he shouted in anger and helped Sara.

“She was terrified, Sara. She was scared,” he said.

He told jurors Ms Batool apologised to him and said she would not do it again.

“She is very manipulative,” he added.

I do believe some of what he is saying. She was with Sara all the time.

I do believe some of what he is saying. She was with Sara all the time.

I believe nothing out of his mouth is factual I believe we will never hear the true facts and who did what and when . Each defendant is only interested in saving themselves.
I believe certain aspects and versions being told of the violent acts are true but who carried them out and when and what day is anyone's guess . Personally I would believe the pleas of a drunk person trying to persuade me they are sober to anything urfan is professing to be true .

Absolutely!

What happened to the "Romance of the Year"
starting with meeting behind legal wife's back (Olga) and ending with eloping and "cutting ties" with family?

And then allegedly conspiring to torture a child of an ex wife who dared to say "Enough!" to abuse?

And then fleeing together to another part of the world naively thinking about a "new beginning"?

Well,
we can see it now.

Only ashes and bitter accusations.
Hatred and acrimony.

One can never build happiness
on misfortune of others.

Well,
at least Prosecutors have their task done easier.
Much easier.

Both B and U are telling the truth when they say the other one tortured Sara. Both are lying when they say that it was only the other and they did not.

Have either of them mentioned the uncle other than U when he spoke of the bites and how they were not done by him or F?

They both are being very quiet about F.

Absolutely it was both of them. It’s just my opinion that B was with her for a lot of the time so she may/probably have inflicted a lot of her injuries.
Any more thoughts on uncle Faisal's role? He lurks like a passive evil sheep. Time for clarity!
It’s difficult as he clearly knew about the abuse but did he partake in it? Who knows but them? I know his belt had her DNA on and blood on it but could it be that either B or U used this on Sara as punishment? These are my own speculations and thought's. Of course I could be wrong but I could also be right.

Still reminds me of the Step mother in the case of Arthur L-H. She terrorised and abused him when his father was out, then repeatedly blamed him for incidents (made up) and bad behaviour, causing his father to punish him more. The abuse by her stepped up until she killed him. She tried to explain it as an accident and that he was hurting himself. Many similarities.

Exactly what I have been saying. It’s not always the Man that inflicts all of the abuse and pain. He clearly inflicted a lot but doesn’t mean he was the main dominator just because he was her biological Dad! Women are abusers as well and some women wear the trousers. Just because they are Muslim doesn’t mean that the man is the Boss. I know Muslim families and the women rule the roost!

He told jurors he never saw her in pain or unable to move, with the only other injury being blisters on her feet, which were treated with antiseptic cream.

On the day of her death, Sara did the laundry but she never did ironing because she was “too young” and it was “dangerous”, he said.

The trial was being held at the Old Bailey in London (Daniel Leal-Olivas/PA)
That evening, Sharif was working when he received a call from Batool telling him to “come home”, the court heard.

He responded that he was “driving not flying” and would be back in 15 to 20 minutes.

Sharif denied he was “burning up with anger to get home” and sort out the problem with Sara, even stopping off at a Co-op to buy cigarettes or vapes on the way.

Jurors heard that at 8.38pm, a child in the house sent an “urgent” text to a friend to say Sara had “just passed away”.

Batool allegedly ordered 12 rolls of Amazon parcel tape to construct home-made hoods taping plastic bags around the victim’s face leaving just a small hole for her mouth.

Sharif’s fingerprints were found on one of the bags and the tape, but he denied hooding his daughter, saying he just thought it was rubbish and put it in a wheelie bin.
The court heard that just days before her death, Sara begged her father not to go to work.

Sharif said it was the ‘biggest mistake of my life’ that he didn’t believe Sara after she was falsely accused of scribbling on walls, cutting hair and hitting Beinash calling her a ‘dumb b****’ over two years.

He told jurors: ‘Sara said to me, “Dad it’s not me. Whatever is happening at home, it’s Beinash.”.’

He added: ‘I blame myself, I did not believe them at the time… the kid was scared of me when I was disciplining her. It was me. I was wrong.’

Sharif, Batool and Malik deny murder and causing or allowing the death of a child.

Thank you, Dotta. You're right! I didn't think anyone would take it at face value.

From G. Dragon

Thursday, November 7

There was discussion about his movements from 19-23 July 2023
(23 July is the date of the last confirmed sighting of Sara by a neighbour)
as traced by mobile phone data.

Sharif told the court that as a taxi driver, he worked seven days a week, 14-15 hours a day.
Typically, he said he would leave between 6 and 7am for airport drop offs and pick-ups,
mostly for established customers.

Sharif also spoke about the ordering and delivery of the packing tape,
telling the court he never used his Amazon account,
that he wouldn’t have been at home at the time the tape was delivered,
and he wouldn’t have opened the parcel because he didn’t order it.

Mr Mian also reviewed the forensic summary covering the carrier bag with blood in it and the tape with Sara’s DNA profile,
with fingerprint details matching to Sharif found on the non- sticky side of tape and on the bag.

He said it was a shopping bag he had moved from the recycling
bin to the rubbish bin and that he was
“shocked that my fingerprints are found on that tape”.

On Tuesday, 8 August, 2023 Sharif told the court
he and Batool had taken their younger son to Maybury Surgery for his immunisations.
Sharif said he then had a pickup in New Haw at 9:30am.

At 9:59am he took a £70 fare from his customer at Heathrow T3.
He went home, was there for the afternoon to sleep,
and describes seeing Sara in the kitchen washing something at the sink.

He went up to bed and woke up at around 5:30pm.

He said of Sara,
‘that was the last time I kissed her’.

He accepted a fare via WhatsApp from a customer who wanted collecting from Woking station.
At 6.24pm his taxi left Horsell.
At 7.04pm Batool tried to call Urfan, but he couldn’t answer due to
dropping a customer off in Peaslake.

He said she made several calls due to a bad signal,
and that
Batool, told him
Sara and her older brother were being really bad and asked him to come home.
He asked her to put them on the phone so he could try
and speak to them,
but he said she told him to just come home.

There was nothing unusual about their conversation and he stopped at the Co-Op on the
way home.

He said he couldn’t remember why he went there, maybe for cigarettes or vapes and
said he probably paid in cash.

The trial continues.

Tomorrow Urfan Sharif’s testimony is expected to finish.

It is not confirmed whether cross-examination,
if any,
will then take place.

I guess
Cross-e. will be veeeeeery long.
There is a queue IMO:
Defence KC of B,
Prosecution.
