Urfan Sharif said he came home on the evening of 8 August last year to find Beinash Batool sitting on the floor in the couple's bedroom, holding Sara.

Police found Sara’s body with dozens of injuries at the family’s home in Woking, Surrey, two days later.

Mr Sharif, 42, Ms Batool, 30, and Sara's uncle, Faisal Malik, 29, have denied murder at the Old Bailey.
Sara's father said Ms Batool told him the girl had fallen down the stairs while playing with another child, and that now she was “pretending” and “being dramatic".

Mr Sharif said he told Sara to “get up” and took her arm, but it was limp.

“Then I took Sara from Beinash’s lap," he said.

"[Sara] whispered and opened her mouth a bit. She said she is thirsty and she needs water.”

Mr Sharif told the jury that he called for water and put Sara on the bed, but his wife told him to put her on the floor.

“I shouted for an ambulance because I could not hear her breathing, I checked her pulse under the ear, it was none. I had done my first aid training two times,” he said.

He said that he gave Sara CPR for more than ten minutes but Mr Batool told him to stop.

Mr Sharif said that when he asked where the ambulance was, Ms Batool replied: "It’s no point. There’s no need because she’s dead.”

Mr Sharif said he noticed a red mark around Sara's neck, and at this point Ms Batool told a "second story" claiming Sara had been fighting with another child.

Defence barrister Naeem Mian KC asked “Why didn’t you call the police?”

And Mr Sharif replied: “I was thinking about the other kids. They are going to be taken into care.[The child] is going to go to prison.”

Hours after Sara had died, Ms Batool also showed Mr Sharif on her phone the difference between murder and manslaughter, jurors heard.

“She is very good at Googling stuff,” Mr Sharif said.

I see we all found some news at last !

Sharif said he carried Sara into the bathroom to clean her body but was physically stopped by Batool who told him: “Are you stupid, just leave her.”
The defendant said he was “shocked” to see a red mark on Sara before Batool explained the other child had beaten and stamped on her.
Sharif said he wrote a letter confessing to killing her daughter and left it beside Sara’s body so he could “take the blame”.
But it was Batool who instructed him to say in the note that he had “lost it”, he said.

Yes, we're all in competition! I was going to post the Irish News version from the Press Association (Dotta must be out!) but the Standard posted above by Smithpanes is the same report.

The reporting has been abysmal. I thought it would have far greater coverage

From the standard linked above:

Sharif closed Sara’s eyes with his hands, Batool “shed a few tears” and then Malik came upstairs and “burst into tears” after failing to find a pulse, the court heard.
The defendant claimed the initial plan was for Batool to go to her relatives in Luton so he could call police and say Sara died in his care.
Batool made 30 calls to members of her family but they did not help because they were “scared”, he said.

Imagine
Hours after Sara had died, Ms Batool also showed Mr Sharif on her phone the difference between murder and manslaughter, jurors heard.

“She is very good at Googling stuff,” Mr Sharif said.

Sadly for her, being good at Googling stuff (who isn't) isn't an accolade that will help her dodge prison.

Thanks for all updates!

Sooooo....

I see that the first "official" version
of "falling down the stairs incident"
still stands.

Plus an added piece of info about "brother from hell".

How convenient
that the boy is secure in Pakistan with probably no chance of returning

Does U allege that the boy has "sadistic personality disorder"?
Does he allege that step"mother" conspired with the teen?

Did the brother torture other siblings?
Was school worried about his behaviour?
What about other injuries?
Abuse started at least 2 years before death.

IMO
something terrible happened 2 days before the death of Sara,
as a piercing scream was heard by a neighbour,
followed by "ghastly silence".

Well,
As I said before
I don't believe a single word coming from this individual's mouth.

As I'm a polite person
I will add no more

One more thing,
I'm more than sure
that if British Police had suspected the teen,
he would have been sitting in Court now as a minor defendant.

Why did urfan not ask fasial to call an ambulance and why did urfan need bienash's permission to call an ambulance for HIS daughter.
Urfans lies are easily challenged by a prosecution lawyer thank god . As each lie is cancelling out the other lies . The kissing on the forehead without seeing the gaping wound for example . So his defence of the loving father is been blown open by his lie of it being all bienash's fault . They both deserve each other as both are deceitful and evil .

I wonder were news reports few and far between this week as children's witness statements were being read including messages between NS and his friend and SS reports .

Notice urfan also protecting his brother fasial by stating the bursting out of tears . For two men who were supposedly so upset and traumatised. Both appeared very calm in cctv from airport and both seemed unbothered and un aggrieved sitting in the front of car

I don't understand the references to Sara's brother here. The only one who involved/blamed him was Batool. As an isolated incident.I don't believe that there is anyone blaming him for any of the long-term abuse of Sara?

What would he need to "wash" off her exactly. Could be a damning detail if true. The pristine house doesn't fit the forensic state of her body either JMO

What about the accusation of Sara being beaten and stamped on?
Accusation made by B to U after Sara's death?

Do you mean she accused Baby brother?
Or little sisters?

C'mon!
It is ALL in reports from today with links.
Black on white.

Urfan is swaying between blaming bienash and NS being the perpetrators or as you state Dotta alluding to them as co conspirators and also slight finger pointing at other children within the household of being responsible for attacks over the weeks and months of injuries inflicted on Sara . It just shows how low he is willing to stoop in order to avoid responsibility.
If ever there was a indication of adult male superiority within that household it is clearly on show by urfans defence because anyone considered lower chaste by sharia law is being blamed here

As a reference to where my above post states urfan alluding to a child being the cause of Sara's death
