This girl was robbed of everything by monsters.

Now it is their turn to rot.
They will never see their children again.
Because they don't deserve this Privilege and Gift.

Soulless and heartless.
Their place is behind bars.
Not among decent people.

This video is actually of Beinash Batool and Faisal Malik giving their 'no comment' interviews'. He needed an interpreter. His allegedly assiduous attendance at Portsmouth University doesn't seem to have helped his English.
Well, I doubt that Urdu is a language of instruction at the University of Portsmouth, so he's either pretending that he needs an interpreter, or pretending that he's going to University.

The right verdict, IMO.

Just read the BBC article which has further details of social services involvement in Sara's life. And it seems there was a third child (living with Urfan and Olga) who was taken into care and remained in care. Possibly Olga's child from another relationship?

Also, can I just say that the man is clearly a complete idiot. His best course of action was clearly to admit to allowing the death and testifying against the other two. The Crown would probably have accepted the plea and not put him on trial for murder at all. He'd now be looking at time served or at most a couple more years inside, but instead he's probably looking at 10.

I’m so glad they’ve been found guilty

I’m just reading the BBC report increasingly appalled by the fact that any children were allowed to live with Urfan.

The report makes it clear that there is ANOTHER older sibling/half sibling. Referred to as Z in the report. If only Sara hadn’t been returned to Urfan.

Quote from the link below

“Social workers recorded "unexplained injuries" to "Z" and another of Sara's siblings, referred to in court as "U". Before Sara was born there were further allegations of assaults against the children, all were denied”

After the initial period in foster care in late 2014, Sara who had still not yet turned two, returned home with "U". However, "Z" never went back to the family, instead remaining in care.”

It seems incredulous that Sara and her brother were given back to Urfan and that alarm bells did not ring with social services when the school reported seeing bruises on Sara.

Before Sara was even born, the family was known to police and children's services. Records show police were involved four times between 2010 and 2012.

Surrey County Council children's services were in contact from 2010, while hearings at the family court, in Surrey, began just before Sara was born.

This was because of growing concerns of neglect and violence in the family, including against one of Sara's siblings, referred to in court as "Z".

In 2010, "Z" was found alone in a shop aged just three. Later that year Sharif was arrested for assaulting Ms Domin. During the fight he hit "Z", leaving a hand print on the child's back.
In 2011, "Z" told teachers "daddy hit me", and the following year told them "mummy hit me". The child was found with a burn mark and was again discovered alone in public, this time in Woking Town Centre - half a mile from the family home.

Social workers recorded "unexplained injuries" to "Z" and another of Sara's siblings, referred to in court as "U". Before Sara was born there were further allegations of assaults against the children, all were denied.

Then there was an incident in 2013, when "Z" was burned by an iron. When social workers visited their home, they found no light bulbs or bedding in the children's bedrooms.
This meant Sara was under a care order soon after she was born. It gave the local authority legal responsibility for Sara and her two siblings, and social workers made frequent visits to the family home.

She was first taken into foster care for a short period in November 2014, when she was almost two, after "Z" complained of being bitten "very hard" by Ms Domin and "pinched and punched" by Sharif.

Foster carers noticed what looked like cigarette burns on both Sara and "U". Ms Domin and Sharif said they were chicken pox scars.

Well, I doubt that Urdu is a language of instruction at the University of Portsmouth, so he's either pretending that he needs an interpreter, or pretending that he's going to University.

This discussion was had on a previous thread. Imagine if you lived and worked or studied in a foreign country but your first language is English. In daily life you can interact and having enough of grasp of the second language to get by. Plus, that immersion is itself an opportunity to learn the language. If you don't know a word, you can always look it up later. The consequences of a miscommunication are unlikely to involve a risk of something detrimental happening to you.

But... if you're arrested for murder, do you still take your chances with your second language or do you request an interpreter in your first language?

What a relief. Sentencing will be interesting for Malik, there's such a wide range available to the judge. I dread to think what else the media have available to release now the trial is over.
I just watched short video clips on today's BBC online news of the police interviews with each of them - all answering no comment, but FM required all of his questions to be completely translated for him, whereas the other two did not.
How was FM managing a course at an English university with so little understanding of English Language? If a course was all online- then could it not be done in any country?

Foreign students are a cash cow for British universities.

ETA: Also, I watched a clip of the imterview and he seems to be going through the motions of waiting for the translator to interpret everything. I think he understood what the police officer was saying because, at one point, he nodded before the translator started speaking.

I think probably Z is a half sibling from one of their previous relationships. The report mentions Z was found alone in a shop aged 3 in 2010 so they’d have been born approx 2007. If IRC olga and Urfan met in 2009.

The report on the BBC from the events of 2009-14 involving what Z said at the time is awful, it’s also very telling. It’s quite appalling that any children were allowed to live with US. After reading that report on the BBC it’s fairly obvious what the consequences of allowing US to have any children in his custody might be. It’s absolutely shocking it was ever allowed to happen.

Yes, I assumed it was Olga's child from a previous relationship, with that being the reason that Urfan did not / could not remove the child from care along with the other siblings.

And totally agree, shocking history of violence and neglect.

"Sara Sharif’s father guilty of her murder
as it emerges
he exploited EU rules to stay in UK."

"Sara suffered a
'daily living hell'
as she was slowly tortured to death over many months by Urfan Sharif,
who was described in court as a psychopath and a 'controlling, violent bully'.

Sharif held his head in his hands
and Batool wept
as the verdicts were delivered
after about two days of jury deliberations."

He needs to stay with his Siblings not his Mother. They have shared trauma and loss and to separate them would be detrimental to all of them. They have suffered and lost enough. They need to be together.

He will decide himself as he soon will be an adult.

I doubt anybody can decide that without talking to him and talking to/interacting with the younger siblings.

Just Not something we can decide from our keyboards!!

I am not deciding for him. I am saying ‘shared grief and loss is real!’ Trust me I know. You are bound together by your trauma and loss and you need each other to get through. They probably are suffering from PTSD as well and it would be devastating to split them up.

No but I imagine previous reports may be taken into account though. The younger siblings are a different situation tbh as potentially they will not have a parent to go to. Incidentally no one said we can decide. It will be decided by officials and what he wants will likely be taken into consideration also.

That confused me too. I was wondering whether there were another two children before Sara and her brother?

I'm reading about the actions of the police in Pakistan. Normally I would be horrified at police behaving like that. In this case I wish I could send them all thank you cards.

At a guess it was Olgas and not Urfans.

I wonder if this is true, or did they just take his word for it all.
Its unlikely they would take Sara's preference into account at such an early age (4/5). In any event, I expect U groomed the children accordingly.
