People who work outside can sometimes look suntanned I suppose, but I did at that time, and I didn't look suntanned....

AS says all the way back.

The passenger door being locked is a bit odd too. You can easily lock it from the driver's seat - Fiestas are not wide cars - and you could lock it, get out, shut the door and it would stay locked. Funny things to do when ditching a hot car in a hurry though.
This suggests that the perpetrator had a bag under the seat and pushed it back to reach it easily. I agree, getting out of a hot car, leaving the drivers door unlocked while locking the passenger door is just not logical.
Logically this suggests the perpetrator was alone, SJL was somewhere else and he needed to get back quickly.

Interesting and possible. The main thing I take away from the seat position is that positioned thus it probably wasn't JC driving it. This is supported by the fact that the car was checked for prints. It was found not to have been wiped down and plenty of prints were found but led nowhere; so whoever drove it either wore gloves or knew his prints could be easily explained.

I guess SJL locked both doors whilst driving to avoid being carjacked. She'd unlock the driver door to get out for work, obvs

One of JC’s traits was to wear cotton gloves, I think this came out in “Prime Suspect” by Christopher Berry Dee, but I may be mistaken.
It’s been a while since I read his book.

Also interesting was an article in the Daily Star on May 29, 2000.

"A car that could have been used in the SL kidnap 14 years ago is being torn apart by police hunting for clues'. Detectives yesterday confirmed a vehicle had been recovered from a used-car dealership in north London, where is had been parked for several years. The find was made after a new witness said he lent a vehicle to one of the key suspects at time SL disappeared"

"Dept Supt SS, said the new evidence pointed to a 'tight core' of suspects, including people who had not previously been considered'. "Suzy's mother, DL, said, were are astounded we hadn't expected someone to come forward after such a long time'.

I think this was the red sierra that was owned by another inmate of the bail hostel and JC allegedly took over the HP payments and therefore effectively had a shared ownership of the car. This fellow inmate, now deceased, may have formed part of the 'tight core of suspects' and possibly aided and abetted JC in some way, poss even unwittingly. Poss also acting as a partner in petty crime whilst they were rehabilitated together along the way.
i think they found trace evidence linking sandra court to the vehicle.

AL fingerprints were in the car. he must have used it.

Which wouldn't be surprising, given he and SJL had been an item for 6 months or so.

Cannan's red Sierra, the only car we know he was actually using in July 1986, was traced to a scrapyard in 2000. Hair found in was found to have a partial match to either SJL or SC, I forget whom - but IIRC it was only something like 60%. This would mean it's a match to around 40 million other people in the UK, which is pretty inconclusive.

If you don't believe CV had anything to do with SJL's disappearance, there is no reason to doubt he found the diary on the Sunday, as he has said then and since. So how did her stuff not appear at the PoW until Sunday if it was lost on Friday? Why did AL say he was with SJL at the PoW on Friday then later deny they'd ever been there at all and were in fact at Mossop's and it was Sunday? Why did he say they spoke on the phone on Sunday if they were in fact at Mossop's?

I reckon she was at the PoW to use the payphone for a conversation she didn't want to have in her flat, either because Roger the Lodger or for some other reason.
were her missing items under the tables outside. that is why they were not found until sunday.

Says it all imo.

The board said Cannan continues to maintain his innocence and has not completed any accredited programmes to address his offending behaviour.

The board noted that at the time of his attacks, Cannan was “preoccupied with sex” and “preferred sex to include violence”.

Assessing risk factors involved in his offending, the panel said: “Mr Cannan evidenced feelings of anger and suspicion, struggled to manage extreme emotions and had a distorted perception of appropriate sexual boundaries.

“He had demonstrated a need for power and control, and had held a derogatory attitude towards women.”

it was SC, but like you said. inconclusive.
Assuming they can still extract DNA/have a good sample, advances mean they could (in theory) extract a full profile now.

He wasn't pale because he had 6 months of work for a company in Acton
his boss at the prop company in acton said JC was a good worker, so he must have been a good time keeper as well. if he was in work all the time, then he was not out stalking SL in putney or fulham. this makes me seriously doubt he snatched SL. he would not have the time. he was still in custody at the wormwood scrubs hostel until july 25th 1986. 3 days before SL went missing.

berry dee gives out a lot of info that is wrong. he is overrated as a crime writer.

The right decision whether he killed SJL or not. Some people should never
The right decision whether he killed SJL or not. Some people should never be released.
i knew he would not get paroled. i bet he is furious deep down. its a pity they didnt have the same attitude towards colin pitchfork.

Did Colin Pitchfork admit to his crimes? JC didn't and was banned from joining the sex therapy rehabilitation sessions, which was an abuse of his human rights (according to JC)
